Lucas' POV
"Did you kill all of them?" I asked Lucian.
"Yeah." He replied absent-mindedly.
"All of them?" I asked.
"Yes. Seven dancers and ten musicians. All of them." He looked at me and said.
He looked very distracted and annoyed.
I stretched out my arm and slapped his face gently.
"What's the matter? Where's the famous Lucian smile?" I asked.
He slapped my hand away and said, "I don't feel like smiling."
"Come on, dead people don't talk. Nobody will ever know about what we wanted to do." I said, taking up my bow and aiming at a running slave.
They were wearing orange prey suits sewn to their skin, so it was easy to spot them in the greeneries of the forest.
It isn't fair. I know. But let's just say life isn't a fair game, is it?
Lucian said, "Zack started to get suspicious of you. And your woman is in his custody. Luke, I really don't think we should continue with our plan. You've been fighting in battles all these years in the north, conquering tribes and everything. But these southerners don't play by the book. They were born to be ready for stabbing people in the back. No matter how things change, these people just don't die."
I pulled the string of the bow in my hands to its maximum, closed one eye, and said, "You were born in the south. I was born in the south. We were one of them. When our fathers were in trouble, all of them chose to stand by and watch them burn. None of them were willing to help them. That fucking thought didn't even cross their fucking mind. They owe us our lives, brother, and we're just going to go there, take away their lives, and come back. Bull's eye."
As I said, the arrow had already got into the slave's forehead.
He fell to the floor and the hounds were running towards his dead body.
I knew their sharp teeth would rip the dead body into pieces before they dragged it all the way to me. But who gave a fuck. I didn't kill them for their skin, did I?
The thrill of killing gave me a temporary shot of excitement. Then, it was gone. I started to look for my next target.
Fucking slaves. They were like fucking all over the place and I suddenly didn't know which one to aim.
Alpha Titan was in my close vicinity. He shot one down as well and was boasting like a cock with other Alphas.
He occasionally glanced at me while talking to others.
I didn't trust that fucking gorilla a bit.
"Has Kylo sent back any reports?" I asked.
"Yes. Everyone thought he was marching to Emerald Creek, but he'll be in King's Land tomorrow." Lucian said.
"And that she-wolf's father?" I asked.
Lucian replied, "He's locked up in the dungeon at Riverdale. He's in a very critical condition right now. I've sent some doctors to look at him."
"Yeah, you see to that. Kill all the doctors who have gone to Riverdale. He's our fucking lucky charm and I don't want anyone to know his existence," I said.
One of my hounds brought back a slave's head in his mouth, wagging his tail at me. It came too close, so I kicked it at its stomach. It rolled on the ground for a few laps and bounced back again. Whining and whimpering, it came back to me and sat obediently next to me, with its retracted tails wagging between his rear legs.
"Fuck, I'm talking to you, Lucian. What the fuck is wrong with you these days? Why do I get the feeling that you're always somewhere else? Do you need to take a few days off or something?" I asked and kicked the fucking slave head away. The hounds jumped happily at it, chasing and fighting for it all the way like it was a ball.
Fuck. I wish I could discipline Lucian as I did to those fucking dogs. He was sure like a fucking dog to me. No matter how hard I pushed him away, he would always follow me everywhere I went.
"I will kill all the doctors. I get distracted because Gianna's due day is coming. She won't leave me alone in my mind," he explained.
"Really? What do you talk about?" I put down the bow and asked.
"This and that. You won't be interested." Lucian shrugged and said.
"Come one, tell me. I want to know." I insisted.
Lucian sighed and said, "We were talking about the baby's name."
"It's got a name now?" I was surprised.
Lucian nodded, "Yeah. Apparently, the Moon Goddess disclosed to Gianna about the baby's name in her dream."
"And you didn't tell me about it?" I frowned.
"Well, you didn't ask. You were busy asking me to run around and kill people for you these days." Lucian pulled his nonchalant look again at me.
I grabbed his shoulder and held him.
I gave him a cheeky smile and said, "I know I've been demanding these days and we didn't have time to catch up with each other. Don't get angry at me, brother. Tell me about the baby. Is it a boy or a girl? What's its name?"
"It's a boy and Gianna didn't want to tell me its name. She still wasn't on speaking terms with me," Lucian said.
"But you said you were talking to her just now..." I felt confused.
Lucian rubbed his temples and said, "Well, when a woman refuses to talk to you, it doesn't mean that you should stop talking to her."
"How do you know things like that?" I asked.
Lucian sure knows a lot about women. You know, dos and don'ts, shit like that. I sometimes wonder if he was born with a special compartment in his head designated for storing fucking things like that. I, on the other hand, only categorize women into two groups, the fuckable and the dead. I guess that's why he can marry his mate and my mate's fucking hanging around with other men all the time.
What can I say? Women are perishable and that's why I have to fuck them before they go really really bad. They are fucking mannequins to me. They're OK when I'm inside of them. But as soon as I take my dick out, they start to become unbearable and get on my nerves. Not to mention the fucking series of troubles they bring to me from time to time.
"No man was born with knowledge about women. They have to talk to women and listen. Then they learn," Lucian replied.
I had a bad feeling that he was about to give me a lesson, so I cut him right here by holding his shoulders with both of my hands.
"Your son will be a muscular boy, Lucian! I'll teach him how to fuck and how to kill, hand in hand, I swear!" I said with excitement.
Lucian looked at me with concern and eventually gave me his signature warm smile.
"Fuck, I'm really going to be a boy's uncle now!" I was overwhelmed, jumping up and down like a monkey.
But then, I suddenly felt a bit worried.
"Damn, what if he doesn't like me?" I frowned and asked Lucian.
"He will like you because his father does," Lucian smiled at me and said.
