Louisa's POV
"Listen to your absurdity, she-wolf! How dare you urge me to apologize to you? Maids! Come forward and peel off her dress! If the slut doesn't want to wear shoes, she won't need her clothes, either." Josephine commanded.
Several maids went forward and tried to pull my clothes off.
I pushed them away.
One of them bumped into the table.
The drink spilled a bit out of the glasses.
Josephine raised her hands and was about to hit me again.
"Who do you think you're?! You little dirty slu..."
She didn't finish her sentences, because her hand was grabbed by someone.
I looked up and saw Alpha Lucas holding her wrist.
Josephine twisted her waist again, "Ah, Lucas, you're hurting me. Let go of me! I just need to teach this little maid some basic rules, so she doesn't dare to talk back at me next time!"
Alpha Lucas pushed her off his lap and said to Josephine, "This isn't the place for you to make a scene. Leave us, please. Now."
Josephine couldn't believe what she had just heard, but since all the ambassadors were watching, she had to obey Alpha Lucas' order.
She stomped and pushed me away. Then, she stormed out of the tent. Her maids followed her out.
I was about to leave the tent as well, but Alpha Lucas grabbed my shoulders and made me sit on the chair that was next to him.
"Sit down, Lisa, and enjoy breakfast with me." He lowered down and whispered next to my ear.
I was so surprised.
This was the first time he called me "Lisa".
It was a fake name, but it showed our intimacy.
I didn't expect him to drive Josephine away and made me sit in her seat.
The most important thing was, I didn't know how to behave in this kind of situation.
The servants swiftly removed Josephine's plates and cutleries before placing more silverware in front of me.
Looking at all those knives and forks, I felt intimidated.
Bare feet and humiliated, I knew I wasn't supposed to show up in a place like this.
So I lowered my head and didn't touch anything the servant brought to the table.
"You don't like the food?" Alpha Lucas asked.
"I'm not hungry," I replied without looking at him.
"I don't care. You have to eat something." Alpha Lucas sounded a bit impatient.
I looked up at him and said, "Can I go now? I'm not supposed to be sitting here, dining with you and all those important people. I don't know them. I don't know how to use these cutleries. And I become a laughing stick to everyone. Is that why you asked me to come here today? To laugh at me?"
Alpha Lucas looked a bit lost. He was happily drunk, but as soon as he heard my speech, he started to get grumpy.
He waved his hands and drove all the girls away.
He pulled my chair towards him, looked at me, and said, "I invited you to have breakfast with me. I want to show how I respect you and I expect some acknowledgment from your side. When I ask you to eat something, you have to eat. I don't really care if you eat with knives or forks or your hands. It's food and we eat it the way we like to eat. Besides, you don't know those people, it's OK. I can introduce you to them. But don't you ever think that I've asked you to come just to make fun of you. I'm handful, I know, but I'm not an asshole. Do you understand what I mean?"
I lowered my head and nodded.
He continued, "And for the Moon Goddess' sake, get yourself together and stop worrying about what other people think of you. These so-called dignitaries are no better than you are. Do you see that man in that red velvet gown? He killed his wife to get her possession. That man over there in a blue hat. He raped his daughter-in-law and forced her to give birth to their child. And don't even let me start with the horse face man over there. He's sleeping with his late brother's wife and inherited his title as well as his castle. Do you know how pathetic these leeches are?"
I looked at the young man who helped me and asked, "How about him?"
Alpha Lucas frowned.
"Alpha Zackery from the Wind Winders Pack? I don't have any dirt on him. He's a rare breed of a noble prince in the entire kingdom. Do you know who he's like? He's like Lucian in his tribe. His younger brother, though, is a nightmare."
"Thank you for telling me this," I whispered.
"Now grab a knife and fork and eat something. The chefs come from the South. They get sensitive and emotional quite easily. They will wail in the kitchen if you don't touch anything."
I grabbed a random fork, stuck a cheese ball, and put it into my mouth. It tasted great.
I saw Alpha Lucas looking at me on my side, so I wiped my mouth and asked, "What?"
"Nothing. I'm just looking at you." He said with admiration.
Even though I still didn't want to forgive him for leaving me unattended for such a long time, I still felt a bit happy that he was able to stand by me when Josephine was trying to pick up a fight.
I stuck another cheese ball and put it next to his mouth.
He looked at me in surprise.
"Try some. It tastes great." I said. I remembered the time when I tried to feed Finn with some meatballs.
"Come on, take a bite, big paw. There's no garlic in it." I prompted.
For a brief moment, I could see Finn's look in Alpha Lucas' eyes. I knew Finn was there, watching me through Alpha Lucas' eyes.
Alpha Lucas smiled. Then, he lifted me up from my seat and put me on his lap.
"What are you doing? Put me down!" I whispered.
"Nope," he said, "I want you to feed me."
"You've got hands..." I said.
"Yeah, but they are busy touching my woman." He said, stroking my legs and waistline.
"Don't do this. People are watching..." I protested in vain.
"Let them watch." He cracked a big sparkling smile on his face.
Then, he pressed my head against his and gave me a long, deep kiss.
I couldn't help but kiss him back as if there wasn't anyone else in this tent.
Then, I struggled a bit and managed to take a breath.
"I taste like cheese balls." I wiped my lips and said with embarrassment.
"I love cheese balls." He licked his lips and said.
Then, my lips were sealed by his again.
"Big paw, is that you over there?" I whispered while kissing him.
There was no answer.
I knew he was there, though.
