Christian
Finally, we get inside the courtroom. Even though Amy is willingly handing over her rights we still have to have a sort of court case, we just basically have to go in front of a judge and have him approve it all. Amy plays her part well as a loving mother whos just not cable of looking after her children while prasing me to the high heavens. It's sickening and worrying to watch how good she's acting but I don't care, as long as I get custody of my children she can make herself look like a fucking nun!
The case only lasted twenty-five minutes and I breathe the biggest sigh of relief when the judge grants the order and Amy officially signs over all three children to me. All that is left to do now is to pay Amy her money then get Katie's last name changed from Amy's to mine and we can start our new lives together.
We all step out of the courtroom and head straight for the exit. I'm bursting with happiness and so is my family. Despite how confident I was about getting custody of them, there was still a small part of me that worried about something going wrong, especially with Katie but finally, I can breathe knowing that they are all mine and that she can't taint them with her fifth any longer.
"I want my money and I want it now!" Amy's voice goes through me like nails on a chalkboard as she gets for too close to me for my liking. "You will get it. Meet me at the farm in thirty minutes and I'll give it to you. The cash is already there and waiting." I had Callum move the money there and hide it in the safe in the storm shelter while we were in court because I don't want Amy to know where we are staying right now.
"Fine but if you think you can trick me then people will get hurt, Christian." I'm sorry what? "What the fuck did you say?" She gives me a slimy smile and winks making me want to vomit. "You heard me!" Tom walks over to us and steps in front of her facing me and putting his back to her. "Ignore the twat, Chris, she's off her tits and a shambles." I give him a nod then take Molly's hand and lead her away from the courthouse and towards my truck.
"You need to watch your mouth bitch! He told you the money is there and he isn't lying so be there in thirty minutes or lose the money your choice!" He turns away from her and follows us to the truck where Dad and Jack are already waiting for us.
"Jesus Christ, she is something else!" Jack grunts as he climbs into the back of the truck and every one of us agrees and all the way back to the farm the truck is filled with laughter and happiness at the result that we got and I'm right there with them, I really am but I've still got that strange feeling in my stomach and that added with Amy's words still have me a little worried. She's incredibly unpredictable which I ain't bothered about when it comes to me because I can handle her but when it comes to my children, it gets me worried.
"We make it back to the farm in less than fifteen minutes, I knew we would but my Mom is up there with the kids and Zack seeing to the animals and I just wanted a few minutes with them and to make sure that they are out of sight before she gets there. The moment I pull up next to the remains of our old house both Sophie and Brody run out of the horse stables and make a beeline for me. Brody clings to me like a monkey but Sophie only gives me a quick hug before she pulls back and put her arms out for Molly to take her which she does with the biggest smile on her face.
"Hey, Brody could you help Uncle Cal feed the animals in the barn?" Callum walks up from behind me and I'm grateful for his quick thinking to distract Brody and hide him out of sight. Brody eagerly nods practically jumping out of my arms and into Cal's making him laugh. "What about you princess, do you want to come help us?" Sophie shakes her head no before cuddling into Molly more. I reckon she's getting tired, she still likes a daily nap. Cal gives her a smile and both he and Brody give us a quick wave before heading off towards the barn that is the furthest one away from here.
I look towards the storm shelter as my Mom pokes her head out of the door. "Dad will bring the bag out now, I'm going to stay in here with Kaite. Do you need me to take Sophie?" I look at Sophie curled up in Molly's arms and my heart feels ready to burst as she has her head in Molly's neck while sucking on her thumb. "Sophie, do you want to go with Grandma and Kaite?" She shakes her head no and starts mumbling but I can't understand her with her thumb in her mouth.
I step up closer to her and gently prey her thumb out of her mouth and ask her to repeat what she said. "I wanna stay a Molly. peas!" Her baby talk is the cutest thing. "Oh, well, I guess I'll just have to make chocolate chip cookies on my own then." My mother does a brilliant job of acting sad making me chuckle. After hearing my Mom's words Sophie's head pops out from under Molly's chin fast as lightning. "Dookies?" I bite back another laugh at the look on her face. " I sowwy Molly I help grawnma make dookies." I watch Molly hold in her own laugh before she assures Shopie that it's fine and sets her down on the ground so that she can run to my Mom while I mouth a grateful thank you to her.
"We've counted the money twice, it's all there. I didn't doubt you, Molls I just thought it would be good to double-check, It wouldn't be the first time that the bank has made a mistake." He's right more than once they have messed up when I have made a large withdrawal for the pub. "No, that's fine, John." I take her hand and lead her over to my Dad as he sets the bag down on the ground.
"I'm thinking we should do this by the same barn as last time." My Dad nods agreeing just as I see Zack step out of the barn that we will be using. "We already guessed as much." My Dad shrugs. "How long until she's going to be here?" I check my watch gutted to see that It's only been five minutes since we got here. "About ten minutes." He nods and we start heading for the barn while I will time to hurry up. I just need this done now!
Molly
Today has gone the best that we could have hoped for and as much as I wanted to slap Amy the moment I saw her at the courthouse, I kept calm and did my best to ignore her. We needed her to sign those papers and I wasn't willing to be the one to blame if she didn't do them because of something that I had done. Unfortantly the same can't be said for Jack or Tom, neither of those two managed to hold their tongues and it was hilarious.
Now all that is left to do is for Amy to have her money and then she can fuck off and leave these children alone. They don't need her they have everything they could need and want in Christian and his family. I know that it's early days but I already know that I'd happily raise these children as my own. Of course, I've not told Christian that, it's way too early but if he ever mentions it to me I will happily tell him.
"Chris, I'm going to go and see Lightening quickly but I'll be back before she's here." It only takes a few seconds to walk between this barn and the horse's stables. "Ok, baby." He leans down and gently kisses me before I pull away and head for the stables. Jesus Mary and Joesph I swear every time he kisses me it travels through my whole body. I didn't even know that it was possible to get that kind of reaction, not until Christian anyway.
I open the stable door and then lock it behind me. If one of the horses gets out of their stalls then I don't want them getting out of the stable. I turn back from the door to face the horses but I cry out as everything suddenly becomes dark as something is pulled over my head. What the hell? I hear a sickly laugh and it sends shivers down my spine. "Who's there?" No one answers so instead I start calling out for help, that is until I feel a sharp sting on my face. "Shut the fuck up bitch or I will kill you!"
