Alpha Derick's POV
Slowly, I collapsed on the couch and stared at the paper in my hand, which had Victoria's Words in it. I felt my heart clenched in pain while her words kept playing in my head.
With my eyes closed, I could picture her in my head, and it kept tormenting me every damn second.
''Alpha.'' Anthony called out to my attention.
Tiredly, I opened my eyes and stared at him.
''The guards at the gate did not see her leaving, they only noticed Clinton dropping her off so late last night.'' He explained.
The moment I heard those words, my wolf howled with jealousy and a different type of feeling enveloped my being. ''Clinton.'' I yelled through mind link.
''Alpha.'' He replied quickly.
''Where are you, Clinton.'' I asked in anger.
''I'm at the factory, is there a problem?'' He asked.
''Get to the mansion this very minute.'' I ordered in anger.
''Roger that. I'm on my way.'' He replied.
''I don't think Clinton has anything to do with her disappearance.'' Anthony suggested, but I stopped him from speaking with my hand.
''I never knew you were this foolish.'' Eric finally spoke up. ''I gave you signs, but you ignored them…'' I did not let him finish before I groaned angrily and replied him, ''Shut up, just fucking shut up, I begged you to talk to me to tell me what's going on but rather you only howled for her.'' Hearing those words from me, my wolf howled in anger and shut himself away from me, but I wasn't bothered about it.
''How was she able to leave this Mansion without the guards seeing her?'' I asked in anger.
Anthony shook his head but did not say a word.
A knock came on the door and I knew it was Clinton's.
''Come in.''
The door opened and Clinton walked in while he gave me a questioning look. ''Greetings Alpha, is everything okay.'' He asked curiously. ''Where is she?'' I asked in a cool, low tone. ''Who.'' Clinton asked with raised, confused eyebrows.
I groaned softly and took in a deep breath to calm the anger already burning in me. ''Don't play dumb with me, you know whom I'm talking about, where is Victoria.'' I asked in anger.
The moment Clinton heard those words from me, his facial expression changed to a worried and concerned one.
''Victoria? I don't get it, is she not here.'' He asked in a worried tone, which made me realize he knew nothing about it, but I decided to push further.
''Don't act dumb with me Clinton, you brought her home very late last night, what were you two doing?'' I did not believe I was changing the topic.
Clinton scoffed and stared at me with quizzical eyes before speaking up. ''What games are you playing, Alpha Derick.'' He asked in anger. ''I should be asking you that. What games are you playing?'' I yelled, stood on my feet and walked up to him.
We met eyes with each other, but he quickly averted his gaze towards the paper in my hand. ''What is that.'' He asked, while staring at the paper.
''None of your business, and I believe you know where she is, and you are going to tell me.'' I ordered angrily.
Clinton went into deep thought and thought for a while before he spoke up.
''She left?'' He asked in a worried tone. ''Yes, and we are looking for her.'' Anthony replied. ''Why would you be looking for her? You accused her of practicing charms and witchcraft, and now she has finally left, shouldn't you be happy about that?'' Clinton spoke angrily.
''We need to find Victoria and as soon as possible.'' Anthony spoke up. ''Why…'' I did not let Clinton finish before cutting in, ''Because she is my mate, she is my God damn mate.'' I yelled in anger.
The moment I said those words, the room became silent and no one said a word or made a sound.
Tiredly, I walked back to the couch and collapsed on it while I roughly ran my fingers through my hair.
''And Emma?'' Clinton asked.
''She is fake, Anthony replied.
Clinton walked around my office for a while before he stood before me.
''Let me take a look at that.'' He pleaded while staring at the paper in my hand.
Reluctantly, I gave it to him, which he took and read through before he gave back the paper to Anthony. ''I don't know where she is and even if I knew I wouldn't tell, Victoria was more than a friend to me and like she said in this letter, she needs to be alone to clear her head, so I will respect her decision and I think you should.''
''Nonsense, absolutely nonsense.'' I yelled angrily and stood on my feet. ''Do you know what you are saying.'' I yelled in anger. ''She is my mate, her place is with me here in this pack.''
''But I thought you said she was using charms on you, and she almost died for something she knows nothing about.'' Clinton yelled back in anger.
''Do you know the pain and torture she went through, do you know?'' He asked angrily. ''You never wanted to listen to her, all you wanted was to get rid of her because you can never accept the fact that a wolfless girl like Victoria will be your mate. You refused to accept it, and now she is gone you are worried about her, how ridiculous.'' He groaned, and spoke angrily, with no atom of fear in him. ''She is gone, and I'm happy about that, you already have a perfect mate in Emma and I think you should stick with her and let Victoria be.'' He said those words and slightly lowered his head in respect and left the room.
I stood at that spot and couldn't say or do a thing as Clinton's words kept ringing in my head.
I felt my heart clenched in pain and my wolf whimpering in pain and anger for the loss of his mate.
''Anthony.'' I called out, after several minutes of silence.
''Yes alpha.''
''Get the cook.'' he nodded his head and left my office.
I walked around my office as my thoughts went to Victoria. I remember her eyes filled with tears when she pleaded innocent, but I was too blind and stupid to see things.
''Greetings.''the cook greeted
I took in a deep breath and sat back on the couch. ''Do you have any idea where she went?'' I asked.
''No idea alpha, I've already called her father, and he said she isn't in Australia yet.'' She replied.
Hearing those words from her, I groaned angrily and tiredly massaged my forehead.
''Do you know any other place she could be?'' ''No Alpha, I have no idea.''
''Damn it.'' I yelled angrily and clenched my fist.
''You may leave.''
She lowered her head and left.
I stood to my feet and led the way out of the office, while Anthony followed from behind. We got to the car and I sat in the passenger's seat while Anthony took the driver's seat and started the car.
''Where to.'' He asked.
''Back to the seer's house.'' I murmured tiredly and rested my head on the head seat.
The drive back to Nina's place was a fast and silent one before we got there.
Quickly, I got out of the car, walked up to her door and did not bother to knock before getting in. I walked in and saw Nina seated on the chair with her right leg crossed on her left leg while a cup of coffee was in her hand.
''Today is really a good day, alpha Derick, I get to see you twice.'' she spoke with a ridiculous smile on her face which I ignored. ''I need your help.'' I spoke up as I took few steps towards her.
'''The almighty Alpha Derick needs my help, woah.'' She chuckled softly and took a sip of her coffee
''Listen Nina, Victoria left, and I have no idea on how to find her, I really need your help.'' I spoke almost like a plead.
Nina stared at me with raised eyebrows before standing on her feet. ''It's rare to see you this weak and restless, alpha Derick.'' She smiled and walked up to the small table beside the bed and kept the cup of coffee on the table before walking over to me. ''How can I help you.''? She spoke in a serious tone, which made me wonder how she could easily change her mood within a period of seconds.
''I need to find her.''
She nodded her head and took my two hands before closing her eyes.
I watched her eyes tightly closed for a while before she opened them and let go of my hands.
She went back to the table, picked up the cup of coffee and took a long sip of it and turned to me..''She is in a place where she can't be found.'' She announced.
''What do you mean by that?'' I asked, confused.
Nina took another sip before speaking up. ''I could clearly see her in my vision, but I couldn't get her location. It feels like there are powers preventing me from knowing her whereabouts'' She explained in a sincere manner.
''Fuck.'' I yelled angrily and scattered my hair with my hands.
''So what are we going to do?'' Anthony asked.
Nina went into deep thought before she spoke up.
''Nothing, she will come to you when the time is right. Until then, you have to wait for her.''
Chapter 53. Fast approaching
Victoria's POV
Three months later.
''Watch out Vicky.'' Austin called out to my attention, but lady Laura was too fast and pushed me to the ground.
''Ahh.'' I groaned in pain and rolled on the floor while I held my broken arm.
''You need to work on your speed, Vicky.'' Aunt yelled and walked away.
''Are you okay?'' Austin tried comforting me, but I ignored him and stood up from the floor.
''Victoria.'' He called out to me, but I ignored him and went away while I held my broken arm.
I left the training grounds and walked into the mansion, only to see Jamal coming down the stairs.
''Rough day today, huh?'' He asked with a mockery, which I scorned and climbed the stairs.
''Do you need some painkillers?'' He asked, but I gave him my middle finger.
I went to my room, which was my mother's room before she died.
I stepped into the room, closed the door and collapsed on the bed while I sighed in pain and held my arm.
Life here for the past three months has been hectic for me. Every day, I have to undergo series of training sessions and fights with people who have gotten so much more experience than I.
Initially, when I first came here, I thought here was a pack filled with other werewolves, but after living here for weeks, I realized we were the only ones living in this wood.
Before we can get to town or where humans are staying, we will have to walk a few miles to get to the town close to us.
According to Lady Laura, she said her great-grandfather and his twin brother, who wanted to stay away from humans when they realized they were different from humans, built this house.
They thought it was best to stay away from humans until they are recognized by the world that they are not harmful and dangerous like the world thinks.
So many years had passed, and the world had accepted werewolves, but aunt Laura decided to stay back here with her family and servants because of the prophecy that was to come.
Sighing tiredly, I stood up from the bed and walked up to the picture of mom kept on the dressing mirror.
Indeed, lady Laura was right when she said I should see mother in me because I was a replica of her.
She has sea-blue eyes, black curly hair which fell on her shoulders and a V-shaped face exactly like mine.
Moaning tiredly, I took off my clothes and walked into the bathroom, put on the cold shower and stood in it, while I slowly scrubbed my body.
As I took my bath, my thoughts went to Alpha Derick and a different kind of anger enveloped my body.
Even after knowing he was my mate, I couldn't help but have hatred for him. Every night that passes by, I always remember how he hated me, how he rejected me and how he almost killed me just because he never wanted a mate like me.
''Just wait, alpha Derick, you won't know what's hitting you.'' I whispered those words to myself and put off the shower.
I walked back to my room naked, stood before my dressing mirror and stared at the bruise on my left arm, and my thoughts went to someone.
''Clinton.'' I murmured in pain as my thoughts went to him.
I wondered how he would feel about my disappearance, and hoped he had finally found his mate.
I left the dressing mirror, took out a clean towel from my closet and cleaned my body with it before taking out a simple blue dress and kept it on the bed.
''Hey special one.'' Jane spoke up from a corner, which made my heart skip. I still wasn't used to her badging on me.
''Stop calling me that, and I remember Lady Laura warned you to stop using your abilities when you are home.'' I murmured and started putting on my clothes.
''Whatever, listen, there is something I need to tell you.'' She whispered while moving closer to me.
''Which is.'' I asked reluctantly. Jane sat on the bed and thought for a while before she spoke up.
''There is this pool party happening in town, and I want you to come. The party is at midnight and I promise you mom won't find out.'' She suggested.
''No.'' I bluntly refused and went back to the mirror,
''Listen.'' She stood up from the bed and stood in front of the mirror, thereby blocking my view.
''You haven't left these woods since you came here. Don't you want to meet and talk to people.''
''I don't wish to, and besides, what if your mother found out?''
''She won't, I have someone who will keep an eye on her and once she comes looking for you, the servant will inform me through mind link and I will transport you back, so easily.'' She tried convincing me, but I wasn't buying it.
''No Jane, I would rather not get into trouble. Lady Laura is already going hard on me with training. I barely have time for myself,'' I murmured tiredly.
In as much as I wish to leave these woods, I can't get in trouble because of some stupid party.
Jane thought for a while before she beamed at me.
''What is it?'' I grumbled,
''I have a secret to tell. Only if you'll agree to come with me.''
I shook my head and left the mirror. ''It's risky, Jane, I don't wanna get into trouble.'' I begged.
''You won't, trust me.'' She spoke sincerely.
I sat on my bed and thought for a while, at least there was no harm in seeing the world. For the past three months, I've only been to the woods seeing the same set of people repeatedly, Maybe it's time I had a little fun.
''Fine, I'll go with you, but what's the secret you have to tell?'' I asked with curiosity.
Jane smiled widely at me before speaking up.
''I overheard mother telling Austin that she will unleash your wolf and abilities on your mother's birthday, which is in two months' time.'' Jane announced with excitement.
Getting this news from her, I don't know if I should feel happy about it because getting my wolf and abilities means only one thing, time is fast approaching.
