His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 221

Ch. 221 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

"You have taken good care of me. I never thought Jessica would attack me, so it wasn't your fault."

With that, Annette looked at Connor and said, "It's over now and please don't blame him."

With Connor's presence, the nurse was nervous and couldn't locate the blood vessel.

Connor snapped, "What's the matter with you? Can't you handle it?"

The nurse was more scared and apologized hurriedly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Norman."

Annette noticed the nurse's hand trembling slightly. She sighed and then said to the nurse, "It's OK. He was mad because of something else."

How could the nurse not be nervous? She had heard that Connor was quite intimidating.

Annette turned to Connor and said resignedly, "Turn around please."

  Connor stared at her, motionless.

Annette continued, "If you keep standing here, I will refuse the treatment."

Connor had no way to refuse her. Annette was kind to everyone except for him.

He turned around and said, "Just get it done quickly."

Annette patted the nurse's hand and smiled at her, and the nurse finally breathed a sigh of relief.

After the nurse left, Connor turned back and said to Dwayne, "You don't have to stay here. Go back to the Black Thorn Pack and get even with Jessica before coming back to me."

  "Yes, Alpha Connor."

Dwayne left after putting down the medical record.

Annette lay on the bed and said with her eyes closed, "I need to rest now. You should go."

"You are quite impatient with me."

Annette opened her eyes and stared at Connor.

"I couldn't even be compared with that nurse. You were much kinder to her."

Annette couldn't argue with Connor, so she turned over with her back facing him.

The corner of his lips curled up. He thought it was okay as long as Annette didn't kick him out.

Connor gently pulled the blanket up and wrapped it around Annette. Sitting behind her, he said in a soft voice, "Do you know how worried I was when I rushed to the hospital just now? Fortunately, you're fine."

Annette's head turned back slightly. Although she couldn't see Connor, she could imagine his expression at that moment.

"Don't worry. Since Jessica dared to hurt you, I wouldn't let her go. I will make her pay for it."

Seeing that Annette had been silent all the time, Connor asked, "Are you still awake?"

  "Yes," she said.

"Do you have anything to say to me?"

  Annette shook her head.

Connor patted her shoulder and said, "Then, just go to sleep. I'll be here with you tonight."

  Annette closed her eyes.

With Connor around, she couldn't sleep.

Annette turned over and lay flat, gazing at the ceiling.

Connor leaned forward and asked, "What's wrong? Do you want to do anything? Just tell me."

"Even if you stay here, it won't change anything. I won't forget what you've done and I won't forgive you just because of your explanation."

Connor nodded and said, "I understand. I'm not staying here to force you to forgive me. I know you need time. But I'm worried about your condition."

Annette never thought that Connor would make concessions repeatedly.

She thought, 'He must care about me, right? Otherwise, he wouldn't have comprised so much.'

As she was thinking, the door of the ward was suddenly pushed open.

  Someone broke in.

  Jessica called Austin.

She said that she pushed Annette causing her to bleed. Austin hung up the phone immediately and had someone find the hospital where Annette stayed.

  Austin was worried about Annette.

However, as he opened the door and saw Connor, his worried expression turned cold.

Annette looked at Austin and said coldly, "Why are you here?"

Austin approached and asked with concern, "Are you alright?"

  Annette said coolly, "I'm fine."

  Connor stared fiercely at Austin.

He recalled what Jessica had said at the entrance of the Black Thorn Pack just now. Although he believed Annette, he still felt annoyed.

Austin had no right to implicate Annette and make her be looked down upon by others!

Connor snorted and said, "Go back and tell Jessica that Annette almost has a miscarriage. I will get even with her and make her pay the price."

"Miscarriage?" Austin looked at Annette incredulously.

  He thought, 'Is she pregnant?

'Did she get pregnant with Connor's child?'

Austin glared at Connor with anger in his eyes and stepped forward to grab Connor's collar.

Before Austin could say anything, Connor pushed him away and grabbed his neck.

Without saying a word, they started fighting with each other.

Annette sat on the bed and shouted anxiously, "Stop! Stop fighting!"

However, neither Connor nor Austin were willing to stop first.

Annette was worried and could only press the bell to call the nurse in.

When the nurse came in, she was dumbfounded.

What could a nurse do when the president of the Norman Group and the president of the Fisher Group were fighting?

Annette knew that the nurse couldn't do anything. She had no choice but to get out of bed while covering her belly with one hand.

  "Stop it! Now!"

Connor saw Annette getting off the bed and pushed Austin away abruptly.

He turned around and walked to Annette's side. "You should lie down. Don't move around."

Annette said unhappily, "You guys are grown men. How could you be so childish? Do you enjoy it?"

Connor snorted and said, "He attacked me first, so I had to fight back."

Annette raised her hand and pinched Connor's arm. She stared at him and said provocatively, "I just pinched you. What are you going to do?"

Connor raised his eyebrows and said, "You're different from him. You're my woman. If you pinch me, is there a difference between pinching myself?"

  Annette suddenly felt embarrassed.

In the end, she had just pinched Connor hard.

Annette turned to Austin and asked, "Why are you here?"

Austin stepped forward and explained, "I heard you were sent to the hospital, so I was worried."

"I'm fine. Thank you for coming to visit me. Now, you should go."

  Austin did not move.

Annette said, "Do you want to stay here and fight with my husband? The one who caused my injury is not him but your sister Jessica."

Upon hearing the words "my husband", Connor sat proudly by the bedside.

Noticing that Austin had no intention of leaving, Annette addressed the nurse, "Excuse me, Miss. Can you please help me send him out? Thank you."

The nurse stepped forward and said awkwardly, "Sir, this way please."

Austin took a deep breath. After glancing at Annette, he turned around and left.

He said inwardly, 'That's right. I'm not even Annette's brother anymore. Do I have the right to intervene in her affairs?'

But he didn't expect Annette to be so indifferent to him.
