His Hybrid Mate

Chapter 214

Ch. 214 / 264 Apr 07, 2026

Leslie put on a fake smile and said, "Let's go, Ann. I'll buy you some clothes."

Annette smiled brightly. She would be happy as long as Leslie was in distress, "Thank you."

Watching Annette's smile, Lance somehow felt more unsettled.

The three of them walked into the mall and visited several boutiques.

Leslie picked up a few dresses for Annette with a kind smile on her face.

But Annette said that she didn't like those dresses at all.

She walked to a low-key boutique in the corner and walked in.

This time, before Leslie said anything, Annette walked over and asked the staff to take the ladies' suit displayed in the shop window.

She held the suit and turned around with a smile on her face, and then looked at Leslie.

  "I like this one."

Leslie turned her back to the reporter who followed them sneakily. Her expression grew cold. She gritted her teeth as she whispered, "This doesn't suit you."

"Really? I think it suits me perfectly."

Annette walked into the fitting room and put on the suit.

After she walked out, she turned to the shop assistant instead of Leslie.

  "How do I look?"

"It's perfect. It's like it was tailored for you."

Annette nodded and walked to the side, picking up a few pieces of clothing and handing them to the staff.

"Leslie, you're too kind. You insist on buying me clothes." Then Annette turned to the staff. "If I don't buy some more, she might be angry. I want all these."

  "Sure, just a moment."

Annette smiled at the staff, turned around, and went back to the dressing room to change back into her clothes.

Leslie clenched her teeth and forced a smile as she reluctantly handed over the card to the staff.

Altogether, it was more than 500 thousand dollars.

Annette happily said, "I really appreciate it. You've spent so much money on me."

"It's okay. As long as you are happy." Leslie struggled to keep the smile on her face.

The group of people went out together. Dwayne snickered behind Leslie and Lance.

Leslie and Lance said nothing since they didn't have a choice.

Connor took Annette to this shop once and bought a dress for her.

So, she knew that everything in this shop was expensive.

Especially those clothes in the shop window, they were the most expensive ones.

Since they made her unhappy, Annette had to make them suffer too.

Annette then went to buy shoes and bags. She stopped until she spent up to a million dollars.

This was the first time that Annette had spent so much money.

  But she was happy!

After shopping, they were about to go back together.

They got in the car. As soon as the car door was closed, Leslie scolded Annette, "Annette, are you crazy? How dare you spend my money like that?"

"Because you want to make use of me. There is no free lunch in this world. If you want to gain something, you must pay for it."

  Leslie cursed, "Shut up."

Annette wasn't angry. She said in a good mood, "You were using me and it's not free."

Leslie stared at Lance sitting next to her.

Lance frowned at Annette and said, "Ann, you shouldn't spend money like that. Black Thorn Pack really needs money now. You..."

"That is your problem, not something I should consider. I don't care about the situation of Black Thorn Pack."

Annette said, looking toward Dwayne, "What do you think of the clothes I bought today?"

"Luna, you look beautiful in all the clothes you bought today."

Annette smiled and said, "Thank you."

Leslie gave Lance a hard punch.

  Lance was helpless too.

As the car was getting close to Black Thorn Pack, Dwayne received Connor's call.

He turned around and handed the phone to Annette. "Luna, Alpha Connor said he tried calling you but you didn't pick up. Did you put your phone on silent mode?"

Annette felt embarrassed. She did so to avoid calls from Connor.

  Connor chose good timing.

Leslie and Lance were both present, so she couldn't refuse to answer this call.

She took the phone and held it to her ear.

Connor said softly, "How's it going today? Did you have breakfast?"

  "Yes, I did."

  "Did you miss me?"

Annette frowned. Why should she miss a man who had betrayed her?

She tried not to let the two behind her notice the change in her mood. So, she whispered, "No."

"But I miss you a lot." Connor knew she would say so, but he wasn't discouraged.

  Annette's face turned red.

"If there's nothing else, I'll hang up. I can't talk now."

  "Why? Are they with you?"

  "Yes."

"Then we should take this chance to show them how much we love each other, and they'll be more scared of you."

Annette hummed in her heart and thought, 'No way.'

The car drove into the mansion of Black Thorn Pack. Annette said urgently, "I have arrived. Got to go."

She hung up the call, handed the phone back to Dwayne, and got out of the car.

It was lunchtime. Austin, who rarely ate at home, also came back.

When Annette was about to go upstairs, Lance said, "Ann, let's have lunch downstairs today. I have something to announce."

After a moment of hesitation, Annette said as she walked upstairs, "Let me get changed first."

Lance said to the servant, "Go and ask Jessica to come down."

Leslie said angrily to Lance, "What do you want to do now? You know that Jessica doesn't want to see Annette, and yet you..."

"I have my reasons. And I should round things up."

Leslie snorted coldly and returned to the bedroom.

Lance said to Austin, "Go talk to Jessica, and ask her to stay cool later."

"Dad, Jessica won't listen to me," Austin said helplessly.

Then, he walked to the sofa and sat down.

  Lance sighed.

No one in this house would listen to him.

He thought about his life and it was like a joke.

When Annette came down, the food was ready.

Austin stood up from the sofa as he saw her.

After glancing at him, Annette looked away and walked to the table.

She looked at Lance and asked, "Aren't we going to eat? If you have something to say, just say it."

As she spoke, she pulled out the chair at the end of the table.

Lance and Austin walked over together.

Austin took the seat across from Annette.

Annette lowered her head, not looking at his eyes.

Soon, Leslie also walked over with a cold face and sat down.

Lance looked at the servant and asked, "Where is Jessica?"

The servant said, "She will come after a while."

  Lance's face was gloomy.

Annette picked up her utensils and began to eat.

Leslie sneered, "Has no one taught you about dining etiquette? The host hasn't eaten yet, and you're already eating."

Annette said coldly, "Etiquette is for those who deserve to be respected, isn't it?"

Leslie said angrily, "Annette, we let you in, but it doesn't mean that we accepted you. You don't deserve that."

"I'm glad you didn't accept me. Because that would make me want to puke. I don't want to have anything to do with you. Besides, I am now Luna of the Blood Moon Pack. Do you think I would still be interested in the Black Thorn Pack?"

Annette's words made Leslie roll her eyes in exasperation.

Leslie looked at Lance and said, "Look at your daughter!"

"Austin exclaimed in frustration, "Mom, please stop, okay? Just let us eat."

Leslie swept her plate from in front of her onto the floor and shouted, "What? With her here, how could we eat in peace?"

Leslie raised her hand and pointed at Annette. "Let me tell you! Don't think you can do whatever you want just because you have Connor's support."

Annette looked disdainfully at Leslie and said, "How could I? I've heard that the members of the Black Thorn Pack like to kill. I cherish my life a lot."
