Giovanni's Perspective
"Hey, here you are!" I greeted Tobias warmly.
"Yes, Alpha! I came as soon as I heard you needed me," Tobias replied respectfully.
"How are things going with the pack?" I asked, leaning back in the black leather chair behind the desk.
"Very well. Perhaps if you're free tomorrow, you'd like to come down and take a look? You'll be pleased with how the pack is doing," Tobias suggested.
"I would, but I called you here for something else," I continued.
Tobias leaned closer, focusing intently. "What do you need, Alpha?"
Watching Tobias momentarily tense up made my already pleasant mood even brighter.
Yet, he sat there, looking straight at me, making me wonder what he was up to.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" I asked suspiciously.
"No offense, Alpha," Tobias began, "but the energy you're exuding is a little unnerving to me. I'm not sure what's going on, but I'm curious."
I crossed my arms. "Excuse me?"
"No offense, Alpha. You just seem to be in an unusually good mood this morning, and, pardon my honesty, but it's rare."
I quickly narrowed my eyes at Tobias and coughed lightly. "I'm just glad our pack is thriving."
At that moment, there was a knock on the door. A Delta walked in. "Alpha, Ms. Aurora requests to see you."
The mention of Aurora's name actually frustrated me.
"Got it. Go ahead and go down. Tell her I'll see her when I'm free."
"Giovanni, you seem a little distracted lately," Tobias remarked, his eyes sharply focused on me. "Is something bothering you?"
I raised my head and looked at Tobias. After a few moments of silence, I finally spoke, "Tobias, do you think I'm emotionally complicated?"
Tobias raised an eyebrow, clearly surprised by the question. "Complicated? You've always been sensible and calm. Why do you suddenly ask that?"
I smiled bitterly. "Maybe it's just that things have been a little confusing for me lately." My eyes turned to the window, searching for some kind of answer.
"Is this about Fern?" Tobias asked, a hint of tentativeness in his voice.
"Fern?" I turned back quickly. "No, of course not."
Tobias laughed softly, clearly not believing my denial. "Then why are you always so unlike yourself when you're dealing with her?"
I was silent.
"Okay, enough about Fern." Tobias turned to me. "What about you and Aurora? I thought you said you loved her. If you really love her, you should think more about her instead of leaving her out in the cold."
"You're right, Tobias." After a moment of silence, I let out a long sigh. "I really should have thought more about Aurora. Perhaps I do owe her an apology." I nodded.
"Then go to her, Giovanni. Tell her honestly what you think and don't let the misunderstanding continue."
At night, I strolled through the silent streets under the faint illumination of the moonlight. Tonight, I decided to pay Aurora a visit, to give her a special surprise and to apologize properly for the recent events.
I gently pushed open the door of a florist's store, whose owner enthusiastically recommended various bouquets. Eventually, I chose a bouquet of red roses. Bouquet in hand, I continued my walk towards Aurora's place.
Along the way, her gentle smile and sweet voice floated in my mind. Tobias was right; Aurora is my girlfriend, and I should think more about her feelings.
Walking downstairs to Aurora's place, I took a deep breath to calm down and prepared to give her a surprise. However, as I was about to knock on the door, I smelled a familiar odor, and at the same time, the sound of a conversation coming from the doorway stopped me in my tracks.
"I can't wait any longer, Giovanni will find out one day." It was Aurora's voice; her voice sounded anxious and upset.
"Don't worry, he won't suspect a thing. Our plan is already going well." Another man's voice, low and steady with a hint of coldness.
My brow furrowed, and a sense of foreboding flooded through me. I held my breath and leaned close to the doorway, listening carefully to the conversation inside.
"What about the baby?" Aurora's voice was laced with palpable anxiety. "I'm pregnant, and the baby will soon grow inside me, and Giovanni will find out everything by then."
"We'll figure something out. What matters now is that you have to leave him," the man replied calmly.
My heart sank like a heavy hammer had struck it. My mind was in turmoil as I tried to comprehend the words I had just heard.
All I could feel was blood rushing through my body, anger clouding my mind. I couldn't believe Aurora had betrayed me and was pregnant with another man's child.
I angrily pushed open the door to find Aurora standing in the living room, snuggled intimately with a tall man. It was none other than the man Aurora had referred to as her "brother" the last time.
"Giovanni!" exclaimed Aurora, her face paling instantly.
I stepped forward angrily, the bouquet of flowers in my hand falling to the floor.
"You betrayed me?" I don't know why, but after the initial anger, I unexpectedly felt calm.
Aurora opened her mouth but couldn't utter a word. The man sneered and took a step forward, assuming a provocative stance. "Yes, Aurora has been with me for a while now. And she's already pregnant with my child."
