Chapter 127

Ch. 127 / 231 Apr 27, 2026

Giovanni's Perspective

As Fern's song reverberated through the hall, I sensed an ancient and enigmatic power enveloping the room.

Her voice seemed to mingle with the moonlight, each note carrying a touch of magic that resonated deep within me.

Bathed in the glow of the lights, Fern appeared akin to a moon goddess, her songs evoking a haunting melody that ensnared the emotions of all present.

I had been silently observing Fern, my usual calm and rational demeanor rarely swayed by emotions. Yet, the moment Fern began to sing, I felt a jolt unlike any other.

"Damn! She actually chose that song!"

I thought in irritation as I struggled to contain the surge of emotions within me. Why would she sing that song? Was she attempting to elicit pity from me?

However, I couldn't deny the captivating allure of her song, as if it possessed a mystical power capable of penetrating the depths of my heart and stirring a profound resonance within me.

My gaze remained fixed on Fern, her ethereal presence reminiscent of the moon goddess gracing the mortal realm with divine splendor.

A primal instinct stirred within me, drawn by a scent that had never before graced my senses - a blend of lilies and rosemary emanating from Fern's dark, luscious curls. The word "mate" echoed in my mind, as the primal urge within me growled possessively, "Mine."

The intensity of my emotions became overwhelming, causing me to inadvertently crush the wine glass in my hand with a loud clatter.

"Alpha Giovanni, what's the matter?" Aurora's concerned voice interjected, her eyes reflecting worry and nervousness.

Glancing around, I realized that all eyes were upon me, and Fern on stage had ceased her singing.

Meeting Fern's gaze across the room, I was captivated by the mesmerizing depth of her eyes. A spark seemed to ignite within me, coursing through my entire being.

Yet, in the next moment, her gaze turned cold, causing a pang of distress within my wolf. Watching as she gracefully bowed to the crowd and then to me, she softly asked, "Alpha, may I take my leave now... Please?"

It was evident she wished to depart, unwilling to endure any potential insults from Aurora or myself. In that moment, I found myself yielding to her request, a sudden weariness overtaking my desire for revenge. With a gentle nod, I granted her permission to leave, feeling a sense of unexpected resignation washing over me.

Fern seized the moment to gracefully and swiftly depart.

In the late hours, I treaded the hallway toward Fern's room, drawn despite my reluctance by an inexplicable allure.

Faintly, a familiar, warm, whispered chant emanated from within Fern's room. Fern—she was singing. What reached my ears was beautiful singing that enraptured my soul, rekindling a part of me long yearned for yet lost.

I recalled how the stage lights had illuminated her at the dinner party, casting a golden aura, her hair ablaze in the brilliance.

She likely presumed herself unheard. Yet, my alpha blood endowed me with exceptionally acute senses, attuning me to her sound.

I cannot afford to falter. The more her voice entwines with me, the more challenging it becomes to maintain control.

I must compel her to cease... Even as she comforts me in ways none else can.

A furrow formed on my brow as her song persisted, a muffled melody, akin to a soft whisper in my ear.

I envisioned her seated by the window, gazing at the nocturnal expanse. Naturally, she remained unaware of her audience.

Though I did not grasp the lyrics fully, strangely, I discerned her emotions. Lonely yet serene, sorrowful yet hopeful—emotions that stirred within me, unsettling me despite my resistance.

Shouldn't a frail soul like hers be gripped by constant, frantic apprehension, as in the few days I've had with her?

However, I must acknowledge, whatever she sang was exquisite.

How could she persist in her warmth and ease after unsettling me so?

I push the door ajar.

Then Fern's eyes widen, and she holds her breath.

"Alpha," she murmurs, bowing her head in deference.

I shut the door behind me, my steps swift as I close the distance between us. My lips find her neck, and she emits a soft moan as the blanket cascades to the floor.

"Alpha..." Fern whispers as my hands fumble with her attire.

I propel her onto the bed, and a gasp escapes her lips as I draw her to the edge and descend my mouth to her core. Her legs envelop my shoulders, her back arching in ecstasy.

"Giovanni. Call me Giovanni!" I commanded. The room was saturated with her scent, driving me almost to madness!

I couldn't comprehend what was happening to me, but I knew that only Fern could quench the hunger burning deep within me.

I plunged into her tender body, thrusting with an animalistic passion I had never felt before. When Fern couldn't resist leaving scratches on my back, some deep enough to draw blood, I tied her in knots. As Fern screamed "Giovanni," I paused deep within her.

Both of us gasped for air, struggling to catch our breath as I held Fern close.

"What are you doing to me?" I murmured, furrowing my brow.
