Bianca placed one of the cups in front of Alessia. "Sis-in-law, this one was freshly squeezed by me," she said, then placed the other cup in front of Christopher.
Alessia placed her chess pieces on the board and casually picked up the juice from the table.
Bianca held her breath, nervously watching Alessia's actions. However, just as Alessia's lips touched the rim of the cup, she put the juice back down.
Bianca felt deflated.
"What's wrong?" Alessia noticed Bianca's odd behavior.
Bianca forced a smile. "Nothing, it's just that this juice was freshly squeezed. The earlier you drink it, the better it tastes."
Alessia nodded and resumed playing. She picked up a piece and focused on the board.
Bianca felt like tearing her hair out in frustration, wanting to shove the cup directly into her sister-in-law's hand.
In the end, Bianca forced herself to look away, giving a subtle signal to Christopher.
Christopher barely nodded his head.
Bianca hid her hands behind her back, made an OK gesture to Christopher, and left the room.
She needed to find her brother.
Bianca returned with a cup of coffee.
However, when she reached Dominic's study, she found that he was not there.
Bianca grabbed a servant who happened to be cleaning. "Have you seen my brother?"
"He went to Young Master's residence," the servant replied.
Dominic's residence was in a different building from Christopher's. There were multiple ways to travel between the two buildings.
She must have missed her brother!
Bianca inwardly cursed her luck. Her original plan was to give her sister-in-law a cup of spiked juice and her brother a cup of spiked coffee. Then she would lead her brother to Chris's room, close the door, and wait for things to unfold.
Now, she didn't know if her sister-in-law had drunk the spiked juice, and her brother had gone straight to Chris' room. Without the spiked coffee, his visit would be in vain.
Maybe her brother would go there and find her sister-in-law, and the two of them would have another fight.
Thinking about this, Bianca became anxious. She shoved the coffee into the servant's hands and hurriedly retraced her steps.
But she was too late when she returned.
David stood at the staircase, accompanied by two bodyguards blocking the way upstairs.
With David present, it was clear that her brother was already upstairs.
Bianca felt a bit intimidated, but she plucked up the courage and raised her chin slightly. "David, please move aside. I need to go up."
David shook his head.
Bianca glanced upstairs and asked, "What about Chris?"
David shook his head again.
"Are you mute?" Bianca glared at David, her temper flaring.
Just as she was getting anxious, there was movement behind her.
Bianca turned her head and saw her little nephew running towards her with a displeased look on his face, followed by his nanny chasing after him.
"Auntie!" Christopher stopped and called out.
"How did you get out?" Bianca glanced at David, silently asking about the situation upstairs.
A trace of regret flashed across Christopher's small face, and he blinked his obsidian-like eyes, but remained silent.
He had just been called away by the nanny, who said that the tutor wanted to see him for homework. When he arrived at the study, he didn't see the tutor, only then did he realize that he might have been tricked. He hadn't expected it to happen.
Even naughty kids could be tricked!
Bianca looked at her nephew's displeased face. She wanted to tease him, but she felt it wasn't appropriate at the moment, so she held back.
"Do you want to know what's happening upstairs?" she asked instead.
Bianca resigned herself to the situation, putting her hand on Christopher's shoulder.
Christopher didn't like being touched and subconsciously wanted to dodge, but he resisted the impulse and blinked his eyes.
He then saw his aunt proudly take out her phone from her pocket, unlock it, and open the app. The live feed from his room immediately appeared on the screen.
Christopher looked up, staring at Bianca's face.
Bianca felt a bit uncomfortable under his gaze and took a quick look at her nephew.
In his obsidian-like eyes, there was a sense of reproach, as if he was accusing her of installing a camera in his room.
"Heh heh!" Bianca chuckled awkwardly. "I only installed it this afternoon. I haven't seen any of your privacy."
She said so, but she rolled her eyes inwardly. What privacy did a little brat have worth spying on?
She had seen everything about him from head to toe.
She had risked her life, and the most important thing was to watch her brother and sister-in-law's live broadcast.
She wondered if the broadcast would go as she hoped.
"Alright, let's continue watching the phone," Bianca redirected, clearing her throat.
On the screen, Alessia sat at the table lost in thought. Suddenly, without any warning, the room's door was opened from the outside.
Dominic, with a poker face, walked in and closed the door behind him.
Alessia only raised an eyebrow slightly, showing no signs of panic. It seemed like she wasn't surprised by Dominic's arrival at all.
"Miss La Rosa, what do you think would happen if I called the police right now?" Dominic asked coldly as he took a seat in Christopher's usual spot.
"I don't think the police would detain me for visiting my own son. After all, it's not illegal," Alessia replied calmly.
"What about trespassing?" Dominic glanced at the fresh fruit juice in front of him and then at the untouched juice in front of Alessia.
His dark eyes were as deep as ink. He had heard that this juice was squeezed by his naive sister.
Bianca had never squeezed juice for him, but his former sister-in-law was already drinking it.
Is she trying to cozy up to her?
Dominic pressed down his gaze and took a sip of the juice.
Uh...
Bianca, staring at the phone screen, was stunned for a moment, then became excited.
Was this an accidental success?
She was worried about giving the wrong juice, so she decided to spike both cups of juice that she brought in and had already instructed Christopher not to drink.
Now that the coffee hadn't been delivered, the juice came in handy.
Bianca felt proud. Her brother was really reliable. Now it was her sister-in-law's turn.
Bianca kept her eyes fixed on the screen.
Alessia watched Dominic's actions and remained unruffled. "Mr. Carter, since you're here, why don't we talk again? Chris is still young and can't be without his mother. For his upbringing, I hope you'll allow me to visit him at any time."
She had prepared herself to be discovered since she climbed over the wall.
This was Carter's ancestral home, the man's territory. Given his intelligence, it was only a matter of time before he found out she was there.
"Are you sure you can be the mother of three children?" Dominic asked coldly, looking at her without any emotion.
Alessia remained calm and didn't respond to Dominic's sarcastic question, continuing to demonstrate her value.
"Forcing Chris away had consequences, as you can see. This time, he protested silently, but next time, he might protest by going on a hunger strike. In such a situation, no matter how good a psychologist you find, it won't help."
"Agreeing to let me see Chris won't cause you any harm, aside from being beneficial for Chris's condition. If you don't want to see me, I can avoid your presence at home."
Dominic remained silent, his face devoid of any emotion as he stared at Alessia. No one could tell what he was thinking.
Perhaps feeling a bit stifled, he unbuttoned the top button of his shirt.
Finally, he cleared his throat, loosening up a bit. "If you want visitation rights, you can sign this."
With that, Dominic took out a contract and pushed it towards Alessia.
Alessia opened the contract and saw that it was a visitation rights agreement.
Dozens of terms were listed on it.
One of them clearly stated that the party (Alessia) could not use the children to approach the other party (Dominic).
Alessia was speechless. However, this contract shouldn't have been prepared on the spot, indicating that the man had already prepared to grant her visitation rights.
Just now, when he trapped her in the room and threatened her, he probably wanted to teach her a lesson about climbing over the wall.
What a domineering, narcissistic, and petty man.
Alessia glanced at Dominic and noticed that he was staring at her.
However, she couldn't help but notice that his face seemed a bit flushed. Was the room very hot?
Alessia pressed her lips together, took a sip of the juice, and nodded in agreement. "Alright, I have no objections."
