"Yeah, that's..." Bianca's words were about to blurt out subconsciously. At a critical moment, her finger was quietly tugged by Christopher.
Bianca almost bit her tongue, swallowed hard, and changed her words under her brother's oppressive gaze. "It's the two children Alessia gave birth to!"
Dominic furrowed his brows tightly, the slight ripple in his heart subsided, and he snorted coldly.
"Bianca, you have some nerve. There's no chance between me and her. What happened today is a one-time thing."
Dominic left with a dark expression.
Bianca patted her chest with lingering fear, her face sagging. "Scared me to death."
Christopher tightened his little face. "Auntie, be careful with what you say next time."
Bianca rolled her eyes and slumped on the sofa, looking displeased. "Brat, doesn't your conscience hurt? How long do we have to keep this from your dad?"
Christopher pursed his lips and insisted, "Just a little longer. Dad and Mom will make up!"
He didn't want to see Dad and Mom argue again just for fighting over his little brother and sister.
"Brat, we've been defeated today." Bianca reminded him.
"Let's take it slow." Christopher was stubborn and climbed upstairs with his short legs.
Upstairs, Alessia came out of the bathroom and saw her eldest son waiting in the room.
She knew that what happened just now was related to her eldest son, but she couldn't bear to blame him.
Alessia touched Christopher's cheek and delivered the good news.
"Mom and Dad have agreed that you can come see me anytime, and if you miss me, you can call me anytime."
Christopher's eyes lit up.
Who said today was a defeat? Mom can come and go freely in the house, which is the biggest progress.
Christopher nodded.
After Alessia left, Dominic had someone return Christopher's phone.
Christopher looked at the phone, a rare smile appearing on his little face. He took his short legs and went to Dominic's residence.
But just as he impulsively ran to the door and reached the room, the little guy hesitated again.
Dominic, wrapped in a bath towel, came out of the bathroom and saw the hesitant little head at the door.
He waved his hand.
The little guy took a few hesitant steps and walked in.
"Why are you here?" Dominic looked at his son. "Do you want to sleep with me tonight?"
The son was startled, as if surprised, then shook his head expressionlessly, shook the phone in his hand, and finally said two words after a long time, "Thank you!"
A hint of disappointment flashed in Dominic's eyes as he looked at his son's reserved little face, suddenly nostalgic for the time when his son used to cling to his legs and act coquettishly.
His son's cheerful personality had finally returned to its original state.
"Well, I got it." Dominic nodded.
Christopher pursed his lips.
The conversation died down completely!
At the hospital, in the ward.
Alessia placed the fruits she brought on the bedside table.
Riley watched her movements with concern. "Did everything go smoothly at the Carter family yesterday?"
Alessia pursed her lips. It seemed that Dominic hadn't told Riley about what happened yesterday, which was in line with Dominic's proud and arrogant personality.
She had always disliked revealing her own privacy, but she didn't hesitate to tell Riley the truth. "It's a bit complicated."
"Is the condition complicated?" Riley was stunned, obviously not expecting that a case of autism would stump his own sister.
"Not really." Alessia thought for a moment and confessed her relationship with Dominic.
Riley looked at Alessia with a heartache. "I didn't expect you to suffer so much over the years."
"Do you think I would torture myself?" Alessia raised her eyebrows.
Riley smiled indulgently. "No, you'd eat sweets."
Alessia's heart stirred, and she looked over.
Her gaze met Riley's, and they understood each other silently.
Riley was her older brother.
Alessia felt at ease.
Riley reproached himself, "When Master suddenly lost contact with you years ago, I came to Toronto, and I heard that Dominic got married. I didn't expect the bride to be you, and I missed you like that."
"It's not your fault."
Since things had come to this point, Alessia didn't hesitate to tell Riley about being chased and Z's involvement.
Riley's expression became even more serious. "I didn't know who Master's enemies were. I went to abroad to develop, and I kept in touch with you through phone calls, but I never heard you mention it."
Although he was adopted by Master, Master had always been mysterious.
Alessia didn't know where Master came from either.
"It's okay, there will always be clues." Alessia didn't lose heart.
Riley nodded, and the two of them talked for a while in the ward before the door was knocked.
Alessia opened the door and saw Ava sitting in a wheelchair, pushed by Nolan, appearing at the door.
Alessia furrowed her brows.
Ava's gaze fell on her, and she spoke with a hint of bitterness, "Sia, I miss you. You won't blame me for bothering you again, will you?"
Alessia stepped aside. "Come in first."
"No, thanks." Ava shook her head. "I am already happy to see you. I came here today mainly to bring you something."
After Ava finished speaking, she glanced back at Nolan.
Nolan, looking unhappy, handed over a transparent plastic sealed bag.
Alessia took a look and saw that there were several strands of hair inside the sealed bag.
Ava explained, "These are my hair. You can use them for DNA testing."
Alessia didn't say anything, just listened as Ava continued, "Sia, could you also give me a few strands of your hair?"
Ava seemed cautious everywhere, afraid that Alessia would be unhappy.
But since Ava had come again, there didn't seem to be a reason to refuse such a simple request.
Alessia pursed her lips and didn't hesitate to pull out a few strands of hair.
Nolan lazily opened the pre-prepared sealed bag and put the hair inside.
Ava watched their actions with a relieved smile on her face and said goodbye, "I will leave first. You should also go back to rest soon."
After speaking, Nolan pushed Ava away.
Alessia closed the door.
In the ward, Riley had already heard their conversation.
He glanced at the sealed bag in Alessia's hand and asked considerately, "Do you need any help? I have some connections with Director Luxx from the identification department of this hospital."
"It would be great." Alessia handed the sealed bag to Riley.
Since her roots were overseas, finding a reliable identification agency in Canada might not be guaranteed.
"Don't think too much about it, just let it happen naturally." Riley took the bag and put it in the drawer.
Alessia looked up at Riley.
Riley gently pointed to his chest.
Alessia curled her lips and let out a sigh of relief.
Yes, Ava sending the hair had disrupted the balance.
Why didn't she want to recognize Ava back then? Since there were no answers now, she would have to find them again.
...
The elevator stopped, and Nolan pushed Ava out. As they walked, he asked, "Auntie, was that woman really your daughter?"
"Auntie, she is my daughter." Ava corrected.
"How can you be so sure without the results of the test?" Nolan said nonchalantly.
"It shouldn't be wrong. She is my poor daughter." Ava affirmed, then looked worriedly at Nolan. "I'm afraid she won't accept me and think that I'm not worthy of being her mother."
"Auntie, you are the manager of the Ramirez Group, the eldest daughter of the Ramirez family. How could you not be worthy of being her mother?" Nolan found it amusing to belittle her like this.
"I heard from Sisca that she came from the countryside, and she has been divorced. She relied on her relationship with Bianca from the Carter family to falsely accuse Sisca of plagiarizing her songs and forced Sisca to apologize. Her identity and character are unacceptable. Our Ramirez family is willing to recognize her, and she should be grateful."
"Nolan, you can't talk nonsense. She is your sister." Ava didn't believe it.
Nolan raised his tongue against his cheek, annoyed, "Auntie, I never speak nonsense. Sisca told me herself."
Ava reached out and held Nolan's hand, pleading.
"I know you didn't lie, but that she is my daughter after all. Even if she is not good, I hope that you can tolerate her more for my sake."
"Auntie, don't worry, I will."
This time, Nolan agreed readily. In his heart, he thought that once the DNA results were out and they returned to the Ramirez family, he would see how he could deal with her.
He only remembered afterwards that the woman had poured a glass of wine on him in the Bar Chef, and he would settle old scores with her then.
Nolan sent Ava back to the ward. Originally, he wanted to leave the hospital, but he ended up going to Sisca's ward.
"Young master." Sisca lay on the hospital bed and greeted Nolan softly when she saw him come in, pretending to be shy.
"Didn't we agree to call me Nolan from now on?" Nolan put his hands in his pockets and pretended to be cool.
"Nolan." Sisca pretended to be shy and smiled, "I'll be discharged from the hospital tomorrow."
"Great, let's go to the bar to celebrate tomorrow." Nolan said enthusiastically.
"It's not possible, the doctor said my wound can't touch water for the time being, and I have to avoid alcohol and spicy food." Sisca said, sounding helpless.
"How troublesome." Nolan lost interest.
"If I hadn't been admitted to the hospital..." Sisca blamed herself, lowering her head to reveal a glimpse of her snowy white neck.
Nolan's eyes went straight to it. He said with heartache, "How could I blame you? You tried to commit suicide because of that woman's coercion."
Speaking of which, Nolan's eyes lit up. "Sisca, I forgot to tell you, I have a way to help you get revenge."
"How?" Sisca was curious, pretending to rely on Nolan.
Such a look made Nolan's vanity soar.
He boasted, "That country bumpkin is actually my aunt's illegitimate daughter. My aunt wants to recognize her as part of the Ramirez family. Since the Ramirez family is my territory, once she returns to the Ramirez family, I naturally have a hundred ways to deal with her."
Sisca was stunned. Hearing this, she couldn't feel happy. Instead, her heart was pricked with jealousy.
Even if she was illegitimate, she was still a lady of the Ramirez family.
"Congratulations to Miss Ramirez."
"Congratulations for what? My aunt is quite happy, but that country bumpkin still looks down on my aunt." Nolan was unhappy.
