Courtney's convoy, two sleek and black cars with tinted windows, awaited them outside the restaurant. The bodyguards followed immediately. One of them opened the door for Antonio with a bow, but Antonio asked Courtney to climb in first. "A true gentleman, huh?" She teased him. "Not now please". Antonio replied, already done with hyperactive Courtney. She laughed as she climbed in, then Antonio followed. The door shut behind them with a solid thud. The bodyguards were in the other car, while Antonio and Courtney were in the one in front. As the car engine hummed to life, Antonio leaned back in his seat, his jaw clenched, staring out the window, his phone vibrating in his hand, deep in thought. Courtney, seated beside him, stole a glance at him then down to his phone, he was dialing Hinata's number. He must be worried for her sake. She pulled out her phone and began making arrangements for their departure. "We'll go straight to the airport. My jet's on standby," she informed Antonio. Antonio said nothing, his mind locked on the risk that awaited him ahead of time. He is going to face this Lord Damon of a man head on. Not sure how he is going to do it, but Hinata must not be hurt because of him. He must rescue her. As the car sped through the streets, the restaurant and everything familiar faded behind them. Antonio was restless. Though his mind was consumed with worry about Hinata, another fear gripped him tightly. His family in Mexico, the fisherman Lucas and his wife Gabi, who had taken him in when he had no one or any memory. He rubbed his temples, trying to focus, but the thought kept creeping in. What if the men who had kidnapped Hinata managed to extract information from her? What if they found out about the fisherman and his wife? His heart pounded, and his anxiety skyrocketed at the thought of the nice and kind-hearted couple being caught in the crossfire of a life they knew nothing about. Is this what I will pay them back with? Chaos, pain? For all the years they have been a family to me. Hospitalized and shown true love as a son. "I can't let anything happen to them," he muttered under his breath, breaking the tense silence in the car. Courtney glanced at him from the driver's seat. "What do you mean? Who are they that you are talking about, Antonio?" Antonio shifted uneasily. "The fisherman, Lucas, who rescued me and his wife, Gabi. They're the only family I've had for years. They live in Mexico. If these men have Hinata, who knows what they could get out of her. Hinata knows about them. I took her home. What if they want to hurt the people that matter to me and decide to go for them? They shouldn't get hurt because of me. I can't imagine the pain and the regret they will feel for taking me as their own." Courtney's brow furrowed with concern. "You really care about them, don't you?" "Of course! They're my family, Courtney. They saved me when I had nothing. I owe them everything. I don't want them getting hurt because of me. I had to do something to make sure they were safe." He clenched his fists, frustration bubbling up. He hated feeling so helpless, hated that his past was catching up with him in ways he couldn't control. The fear of dragging innocent people into his nightmare gnawed at him, and the weight of it felt unbearable. Courtney sighed. "Can we warn them?" she asked suddenly. "Why not call them now to make sure they're safe?" "Okay..." Antonio replied. His heart pounded as he pulled out his phone, quickly dialing Lucas' number. His fingers trembled, the weight of his fear pressing heavily on him and his anxiety was out of control. As soon as the call connected, his heart raced, and he held his breath, praying that Lucas or Gabi would answer. After a few rings, Lucas's warm, gravelly voice came through. "Hola, Antonio! It's good to hear from you. How are things, hijo?" Antonio exhaled, a wave of relief flooding his body at the sound of the old fisherman's voice. "Father... Thank God. Is everything okay? You and mother ... . Are you both safe?" He asked impatiently. There was a pause from Lucas.
