Chapter 22

Ch. 22 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

"Shitting hell," I groaned and walked away from a wide eyed Joey and towards Blake. I walked round to the passengers seat and got in the car. Blake was speeding away in an instant.

"Nice evening?" Blake said sarcastically, raising an eyebrow at me.

"Superb," I said dryly.

"Rob called me," Blake explained. "He didn't sound happy."

"Does it make it any better that we were doing school work?" I wondered.

"No. And who's we?"

"Just a friend," I shrugged, ignoring Blake's questioning gaze.

"The same one that picked you up when you sneaked out to the party?"

"Possibly," I muttered and Blake answered his phone has it started ringing.

"I've got her," Blake said. "She wasn't trying to run. Okay, I'll let her know. I'll make sure she's there."

"Let me guess," I said when Blake hung up. "Rob?"

"He wants to see you later on. 10pm."

"Why so late?"

"He's in meetings all evening," Blake said and I sighed.

"Can't wait."

"I heard about you and Eli," Blake said and lifted his hand to my face when we stopped at traffic lights. He pursed his lips and ran his knuckles lightly over my bruise. "That looks nasty."

"Thanks," I said and pushed his hands away.

"So he can beat you," Black said and smirked. "You must fucking hate him."

"Shut up," I scowled and glared at the cars as we drove past.

"Somebody is touchy," Blake snickered. "It's not everyday that we find someone who can take you down."

"I said be quiet, Blake," I snapped.

"What are you going to do?" Blake taunted and raised his eyebrows. "You know I can beat you, Dais. You can't do shit against me."

"Are you done taking the piss?" I growled.

"Not just yet," he smirked. "Oh come on, Dais! I'm the only person who has ever been good enough to take you on, it's exciting that there's somebody else."

"It's fucking exhilarating," I said sarcastically and rolled my eyes.

"If it makes you feel any better, I've always thought you look hot and badass with bruises," Blake shrugged and I hit his arm.

"It does not," I said and he chuckled.

"How's the leg?" Blake asked. "Eli said he hit you pretty hard there."

"Did he now? It's heartwarming that he shows his consideration towards me," I said dryly and scoffed. "It hurts."

"Any bleeding?"

"No, it just aches," I mumbled and I pursed my lips when I saw that Joey was calling me. I left it ringing and sighed.

Joey kissed me.

The only friend I had made while being at school, the guy I saw as a brother, kissed me.

Why did he have to go and fuck it all up?

"Boy problems?" Blake teased.

"Jealous?" I wondered.

"No, protective," Blake corrected and I rolled my eyes. Blake didn't get jealous if I got with other guys, however if he didn't like them then it got... Difficult.

He was like a protective older brother... That I fucked... A lot.

"It's none of your concern," I said.

"He kissed you, didn't he?" Blake guessed and I gaped at him. "Dais, you seem to forget how well I know you," he chuckled.

"I don't want to talk about it," I said as we pulled up in front of our house.

"Home sweet home," Blake said and killed the engine. He got out of the car and I followed him up to the front door. "Oh and just a warning," he said as he pushed the door open. "We have a guest."

I frowned and made my way into the lounge, expecting to see anyone but Noah sitting on the sofa playing Xbox. "Noah," I said and dropped my back to the floor. "What are you doing here?"

"Eli invited me over," he said and I narrowed my eyes when his eyes trailed up and down my body. I looked at Eli who was sitting next to him and we exchanged cold looks.

"Hey, sweetcheeks, did you forget that you were grounded?" Mason wondered and I rolled my eyes.

"Yeah, it slipped my mind," I said sarcastically and sat down on the sofa next to Tom.

"Did you also forget about the counselling?" Eli called and I glared at him.

"Your anger is starting to get worse," Carter said with a cheeky grin. "You could do with seeing Dr Hayfield."

"Shut your mouth, Carter," I said lightheartedly and kicked my shoes off, flicking them up in the air so they hit Oli and Erik who were lying on the floor also playing Xbox.

"Oi, I will shove this shoe up your ass if you make me lose, Daisy!" Oli warned and I laughed at his dedicated to video games. He once threw a pizza at Jack when he beat him in Mario Kart.

"Where's Jack?" I asked.

"Work," Blake said and took a seat on the other side of me. "So's Hampson."

"Has he spoken more than two sentences yet?" I questioned and Mason laughed.

"Yeah, he agreed with me that you looked hot as fuck when you bent over the other day," Mason said.

"Don't make me come over there!" I warned.

"I'm all yours!" He grinned and I rolled my eyes.

"The day that comes where you don't comment on Daisy will be a surprise," Blake said and shook his head.

"So, Daisy," Noah said and turned his attention from the game and to me. "Who have you got a thing with?"

I choked on my own spit and looked at Noah in shock. "What?"

"Eli said that you had a thing with one of his mates," Noah explained. "At the party when he didn't want you to get with me."

Blake raised his eyebrows questioningly at Eli, but Eli expression remained blank.

"Um..." I said awkwardly and looked between the guys.

"You got with him?" Tom said suddenly, turning to look at me angrily. "I thought we agreed to not see anyone, Daisy."

I had to stop myself from smiling when I realised what Tom was doing. "No, we did!" I said. "It was just a game, Tom. It meant nothing between me and Noah!"

"Daisy, I can't believe you!" He gasped and I smirked to myself when a plan came into my head on how to annoy Eli further.

"Tom," I said softly and cupped his cheek. "I'm sorry. It meant nothing. I promise I only want you." I started to lean in and smiled in triumph when Eli glared at me. I pressed my lips to Tom's and was thankful when he kissed back.

I wasn't going to lie, he was a good kisser. I understood what Beth raved about.

Tom's fingers tangled in my hair and I kissed him passionately, hoping Noah would believe our little show. It wasn't like I could snog Blake when he was meant to be my brother.

"Alright!" Eli said sharply. "We get it!"

I pulled away and nodded gratefully to Tom who smiled, but he seemed rather shock at the kiss.

"I didn't mean to stir shit..." Noah said awkwardly and I grinned at him.

"Don't worry about it," I said and smirked at Eli. "You didn't stir anything."

Suddenly there was a loud crash and Jack's panicked voice filled the house. "SOMEONE FUCKING HELP!"
