Chapter 12

Ch. 12 / 97 Oct 17, 2025

"Okay, fine," I sighed and looked at Noah. "I was making a sandwich the other day and Eli got annoyed that I wouldn't make him one so be walked up to me, stole my sandwich and punched me right in the face." I stood up from my seat and grabbed my bag. "It was lovely meeting you, Noah," I said and kissed his cheek. "I think I'd keep away from Eli if I were you. He's a bit of a psycho."

I was sitting in Eli's car at the end of the school day and spotted Eli walking out of school with his new friends. I glared when I saw him laughing with Noah.

It looked like my plan to turn him against Eli failed. Miserably.

"You are one of the biggest bitches I have ever met!" Eli growled as he sat in his car and started the engine. "Do you have any idea how hard it was explaining to a bunch of guys that I don't go around punching girls! Noah went and told everyone before I got the chance to sort your shit out!"

"I'm the bitch?" I gasped and Eli reversed out of his parking space and drove away from the school. "You're the one blackmailing me! You're threatening to snitch to my dad! Of all people!"

"You nearly blew the mission!" Eli fumed and he picked up speed as he drove down the empty roads. "If I hadn't have sorted that out then all the guys I'm trying to make friends with would've turned against me! Noah is perfect recruitment material and you nearly fucked it all up!"

"I don't give a shit about Noah or potential recruits!" I snapped. "You tried making me sound like a mental case in front of him!"

"You're not exactly the sanest person, are you!" Eli snapped. "You go mental at anything!"

"You're such an ass! You purposely do everything to piss me off!" I yelled. "I did fuck all to you when we first met! You're the one who acted like a cunt, you're the one that started this between us!"

"You kicked me when we first met," Eli growled.

"I was being kidnapped!" I exclaimed. "Did you really expect me to come willingly! I don't know what I did to make you hate me when we first met, but you have no right to call me a bitch and get pissed off when I retaliate because you started all this!"

"You did nothing to make me hate you, Daisy," Eli said and clenched the steering wall tightly.

"Oh really?" I snapped. "So this is you being nice? This is you being a big fucking friendly teddy bear, Eli? I'm sorry, I'm mistaken, you're the nicest guy I have ever fucking met!"

"You need to control your fucking anger," Eli muttered. "Why do you think it's so easy to wind you up? You snap so easily."

"No. You just infuriate me!" I hissed.

"I really get under your skin, don't I?" Eli said, turning his head to look at me. His blonde locks were falling into his blue eyes and his mouth twitched at the corners when I glared at him.

"Genius," I said sarcastically. "How long did it take you to figure that one out!"

Eli smirked. He no longer seemed angry.

He was fucking amused.

The ass.

"Why the hell do you have a vendetta against me? Eli, why do you hate me?"

"I don't hate you," Eli repeated. "Like I said, you're easy to wind up, princess."

"Don't fucking call me that!" I warned.

"Point proven," Eli shrugged. "I enjoy annoying you."

"Can't you just fucking stop!" I fumed. "I have a great idea, Eli. How about I ignore you and you ignore me?"

"But where would be the fun in that?" Eli said dryly.

"I hate you," I growled. "Stop the car, Eli."

Eli ignored me and carried on cruising down the road, going way past the speed limit.

"Stop the fucking car!" I demanded.

"Stop yelling. You're hurting my head," Eli said.

"Stop the fucking car now, Eli!" I shouted, but Eli ignored me still.

I groaned in frustration and my hands went to my seat belt. I unbuckled it and then reached for the door handle.

The car suddenly jolted to a halt and I gasped when Eli grabbed my wrist and twisted it painfully so any movement I made with that arm felt like my bone was about to splinter into a million pieces. He roughly grabbed the back of my head and yanked me towards him. "Get the hell off me!"

"Are you fucking stupid, Daisy?" He snapped. "You're insane! Why would you try to jump out of a moving car! You would've killed yourself!"

Eli looked angry and genuinely worried. He probably was worried that the guys would murder him if I died on his watch.

"You are one of the stupidest people I have ever met!" He yelled.

"Calm the fuck down. What do you care if something happens to me?" I muttered and winced at the pain in my wrist.

"Daisy, you need to realise that I don't fucking hate you!" Eli growled. "The last thing I would want is you throwing yourself out of a car going 100mph!"

"Really? Somehow you've made me think that you'd want me to do exactly that," I snapped and Eli sighed angrily and reached under his seat. He pulled out a pair of handcuffs and clamped them round my wrists before I could pull away. I winced as he tightened them and then handcuffed me to the door handle.

"I'm sick of you fucking moaning," Eli growled as he started the car again. "If one word comes out of your mouth I will gag you."

I was tempted to swear angrily at him, but I had no doubt that he would follow through on his threat.

The best I could do was glare angrily at Eli for the rest of the drive.
