Chapter 85

Ch. 85 / 324 Jul 29, 2025

Miss Johnson raised her cold eyebrows and said with a little ridicule, "Can't you shut up even when you are eating? Or you'd better stop eating and go back to the classroom to study. Perhaps the content in the books could teach you not to gossip as much like a group of big mouths."

Miss Johnson was well-known at Scrollania College. Although the others would criticize her behind her back when they did not like her, there was absolutely no way they would dare to provoke her directly since they could not afford the consequences. Thus, when they saw the angry look on Scarlet's face, they kept silent.

Freya looked at her with full of admiration, "...I've never thought Scarlet was so cool!"

Sara's heart softened as well. After spending some time together, she could tell that Scarlet was like a proud peacock with beautiful feathers. She looked reserved, arrogant, and unapproachable. However, in fact, her heart was very soft. If someone treated her well, she would pay back the kindness tenfold.

Scarlet sat down, pinched her fork and said coldly, "These people are just too idle all day long."

Sara curled her eyes, "I'm not even irritated. Why are you so angry?"

Scarlet said with exasperation, "Why are you still laughing! Everyone steps on you and bullies you because you're very gentle! Sara, tell me, are you really not angry that they're talking ill of you?"

Sara was silent for a moment, with her long eyelashes drooping, she said "...But what's the use of being mad."

She had always been like that since she was a child.

Everyone would prejudice and look down on her because she was an illegitimate daughter, and then listen to William's lies, thinking that she was disgusting and annoying. She tried to explain, but no one believed her. When William accused her of stealing her classmate's diamond bracelet in the fifth grade, she knew that it was useless to be angry. Only evidence would prove that she was innocent and make those people shut up.

Since then, she had always believed in that theory that she had found out by herself.

Scarlet snorted, "Is that what I meant? What I'm saying is that you pretend you are all right even though you're actually angry. Don't you... take me and Freya as your friends?"

Freya was speechless. Hello? What did it have to do with me? She wondered.

Sara was stunned and then said, "...I know I'm wrong. Well, I'm really angry, but it's useless to be angry... I will talk to Dominic White after school."

"Dominic?" Scarlet's eyes lit up as she thought of something, "That's right! Why didn't I think of that! Maggie is stubborn, but we can deal with Dominic! If he knew that Maggie was framing him, he wouldn't turn a blind eye to it for the sake of his property!"

Sara shook her head, "In such situation, no one would trust what the man says."

Scarlet's eyes, which had just been lit up, were extinguished with a puff, "Then what are you going to do with Dominic?"

Sara chuckled, "...Ask him who the person in that photo is." She took a sip of her soup and said slowly, "Alex said that those pictures are not edited, which means they are real. But I have never done that. The only explanation is that the person behind had looked for another person who looked like me, especially the mole on her neck, to frame me. As long as I find this person, everything will be clear."

Freya stared at her in shock, "...Sara, I thought you were such a pity, but you are so smart..."

Scarlet was also a little surprised.

Sara said softly, "There's no other way. I can't just be framed like this. I won't deny what I've done. If I didn't do anything, no one else could force me to admit it."

As there were so many people in the classroom talking about the photos. Sara decided to keep it out of her sight, looking for a quiet place to read.

A cool breeze blew, and the fragrance of flowers was overwhelming. Sara closed her eyes slightly, taking a deep breath.

"Hey, didn't you say that you wanted to tell me something yesterday?" Suddenly, there was a female voice, "Tell me."

"It is exclusive news." Another shrill female voice said proudly, "Didn't you want to know the relationship between Simon and that illegitimate daughter? I asked someone at University. People from University said that Sara was ugly and wanted to chase after Simon. However, how could Simon fall for her? I'm guessing Sara might have wanted to transform into a swan from an ugly duckling so bad that she pursued him to no end, forcing Simon to transfer to Scrollonia College."

"Why is she shameless?!" Another girl said, "Why is she so disgusting? Entangling with a married man and even seduced Young Master Bishop... Then why does Young Master Bishop treat her so well?"

"Young Master Bishop is a very gentle person!" The person with a shrill voice replied, "I heard that the illegitimate daughter was warned at University. Young Master Bishop is softhearted. He must have thought that he had incriminated her. Otherwise, could it be that Young Master Bishop had really fallen in love with the illegitimate daughter? If it was true, I would live stream myself jumping into a river."

"That's true... I heard that her mother intervened William's family. She is only half a year younger than William, isn't she?"

"Yes, that's it." The person with a shrill voice said, "Think about it. It's so disgusting. When William's mother was pregnant for five or six months, Sara's mother got pregnant too...What a shame! Even her mother behaved like this, maybe it is the gene? Anyway, both mother and daughter are shameless!"

"That's right..."

Sara stood up suddenly and the book fell to the ground.

She bit her lip and bent down to pick up the book. When she looked up, the two girls had already left.

Sara lowered her head, looking at the book in her hand. Her voice choked with sobs, "...Mom."

The self help books had taught her to be humble, but it had not taught her how to adjust her emotions.

Sara squatted beside the long bench, holding the book tightly in her arms. All of a sudden, all the grievances welled up in her heart. Whether it was the present or the things she had accumulated in the past, it all came back to her at once, making her depressed.

All of a sudden... she missed Hank very much.

There was an irrepressible sob in Sara's throat, and tears swirled in her eyes. She didn't know if it was because she was particularly fragile that day, but when she came out of her trances, she had already taken out her old mobile phone, which had no other advantages except for its loud ringtone, and dialed the number that was lying quietly on the contact log.

There was no remark, only a set of phone numbers, which was saved by the person himself.
