Chapter 73: Weirdo

Ch. 73 / 116 Dec 06, 2025

Zoe's POV

Adams hugged me as my hand, which had the ring, was merely hoisted in the air, without pausing to look at it. It's a halo diamond ring in the form of a pear. As I watched it, I realized I wasn't dreaming, that after everything we'd been through, I was finally here — beside and holding him. Regardless of what occurred to us, I'm here now, next to him, conversing while having the thing as one of the women most desired. I can't take my gaze away from the ring because I'm too eager about what's going to happen next. I'm excited about how we'll organize our wedding and where we'll be married. Everything I wish to plan with him.

"Hey, how about we go on a date?" I sat up after hugging him. He was still lying down in his boxers. We haven't tried dating yet, so perhaps it's best that before we get married, we do the things that boyfriends and girlfriends do. I want to try everything nice, not just the easy and the thrilling. I couldn't stop myself from kissing him, no matter how hard I tried. I'd want to get into my great fun.

“Sure. Where would you want to go?" My heart almost skipped a beat because of what he said. I wonder where a boyfriend and girlfriend frequently go, and the first thing that came to mind was the cinema. I don't know what shows are airing right now, but I like horror so that in case I'm surprised, I'll have a captain. I want to giggle because of what I think. I know he doesn't like going out too much because he's busy with his business, but maybe I can't eat his time even for a few hours, right?

"I want to go to the mall and watch a movie, walk in the park while we hold hands. Everything that can be done outside while we hold hands, I want to do that with you." I lay down on his body and listened to his strong heartbeat. I was so happy that his heartbeat was so powerful for me. Suddenly his hand landed on my stomach and caressed it. I also looked there and felt every hold and touch.

“When we get married, I want to build a big family with you. I want to scream to the whole world that you are my family. You have given color to my world.” He hugged my waist and kissed the top of my forehead.

Aria's POV

Tiffany exited, and Lucas entered. I was taken aback when he locked the door. I took a glance at where his hand was resting. When he glanced up, he gave me a strange feeling and sent volts to my body. He shook his head and came over to my desk. I returned to my seat since I was close to the intercom and could call Tiffany if he did something to me that I didn't like. I pressed the intercom button, and there he was, staring at me.

"I took good care of you last night. What makes you think I'll do something unpleasant to you?" When he was in front of my desk, he drew the guest seat and placed his hand on the table, so I leaned back my swivel chair as if scared that he would hold me. He chuckled at my reply and seemed to like what I was doing even more.

"Can you just quit saying strange things? Wouldn't it be better if you pretended you didn't know who I was?" I rolled my eyes and let go of the intercom, thinking he was simply trying to bug me. I started doing what I was doing again. He looked at me and rested his chin on my table, as if he was fascinated by my lazy work.

"Didn't it ever occur to you that fate may have brought the two of us together? Perhaps we met in the pub because—"

"Weirdo," I said, cutting to what he was saying.

Because of what I uttered, he burst out laughing. I no longer believe in fate, but Cupid may still have a chance since he is the greatest adversary of couples because he will strike two people with his arrow even if the two people do not want it. As a result, he might be labeled as a murderer.

It's been five minutes, and he still hasn't left. I can't see his face since I'm too busy reading the papers, but from what I can tell, he's still smiling at me. When I couldn't take his uncomfortable looks any longer, I tossed my pen on the table and glanced up at him. I'll ask Adams later who this Lucas is because he doesn't appear to be a regular employee.

"At long last, you looked at me. I expected you to ignore me all day." His two hands had already been placed on his chin and descended to my table. I frowned at him because I didn't understand what I'm reading because he didn't want to leave, and Adams may have reprimanded me more because I didn't help him finish our plans last night.

"Do you have nothing better to do than bug me?" I yelled, but he didn't even budge. I was losing patience with him. He seemed to be eating my energy today, rather than what I wanted to do.

"They haven't finished my office yet, so I can do whatever I want for now. You must tame me because I am the most valuable asset of the firm you are establishing." He shrugged at me, as if he was proud to say it.

"Even if you construct the building, I won't appreciate you for being arrogant!" I rose from my chair; I couldn't stay in this room with just the two of us for long. I've run out of steam. He didn't stop me despite the fact that I was standing directly in front of the door and twisting the doorknob. But I was about to leave when I heard his voice.

"Even if you don't beg right now, I'll make sure you don't have anything else to do but whine and plead in other things."
