"I didn't make an effort to introduce myself to you. I'm Lucas Ferrer, and I've already given you some clothes. Please accept my apologies for ruining your dress.”
That's what's written on the paper, along with a heart emoticon at the end. I looked up as Tiffany walked in holding a paper bag from a well-known brand that I frequent whenever I go shopping. He takes a peek inside to investigate what's inside. When she got close, she placed it out in front of me, and she didn't seem to discover what was inside. I snatched it from him right away and examined what was inside. My eyes gleamed as I got to see it because of the elegance of the dress she handed me. This is the outfit I wanted to buy at the time but couldn't since the designs were limited.
Tiffany poked my side, noticing that the smile on my lips couldn't be erased. "Perhaps you also like the man you were with last night..." she speculated. Ignoring the fact that I had already lost my smile, she continued to make fun of me. I'm not delighted because that man sent it; I'm happy because my dress collection has increased once again. I turned away from Tiffany and returned the garment to its original packaging.
At 12 p.m., we exited the building. I didn't even try to hurry since no matter what I tried, I would be late. I'll just listen to Adams’ lecture. It's not like everything I do is just fine with him now since I'm no longer his girlfriend. Over the last year, I've realized that his heart no longer belongs to me. I discovered that no matter how hard we try, certain people are clearly not achievable. I'll be glad when I no longer have to look at him with sorrowful eyes. I'll look at him eventually and realize that we're both satisfied and grateful for what transpired.
“Leave! Don’t come back because you are fired!”
His head was indeed hot when I arrived at the building. He scolds all of the staff, and if they try to justify whatever they did wrong, he fires them. He morphed into this after Zoe left. Even though it had been a year, he still hadn't moved on from that woman. I was more frightened that if I told him what I truly did to cause Zoe's disappearance, he wouldn't forgive me while he was still alive. I hurried up to him to stop him, but as I grabbed his hand, he pushed me away.
My head would have smacked the edge of the cubicle due to the force of his shove on me. I closed my eyes because I knew I couldn't stop it, and all I could do was wait for the pain. But nothing sprung into my head. The curling of a warm arm behind me was what I felt. When I opened my eyes, they enlarged instantly, and the voice began to freeze all around me. That's just our posture; it's almost as if we're dancing, because my head tends to fall while his arm remains behind me. One of my legs was also up.
As I felt his finger caress my back, he grinned. I pushed him hard and shifted my weight. What draws him here? Even though I wanted to question him, I didn't since they could have insight of what had occurred to the two of us. I spun around and pretended I didn't recognize him. Why am I experiencing so much remorse today? When the personnel resumed their duties, I attempted to return to my office. But, before I could do so, someone spoke from where I had previously been.
"Do your people really behave like this here, Adams? Don't they feel thankful when they receive help?" He was sarcastic when I raised an eyebrow back at him. My eyes were irritated, and I almost yelled at him, "THANK YOU!" If I could only slap him with one phrase, I would smack him till his cheeks burned red from his arrogance!
"THANKS FOR THE HELP. I APPRECIATE IT SO MUCH." Sarcastic and emphatic, I told him, but instead of being annoyed, he seemed to enjoy what I tried to tell him. I didn't lose sight of him and he didn't take his eyes off me either. Who does he think he is? And one more thing, I'm not just a mere employee here, I'm also a shareholder! He spoke to Adams casually, as if he were simply on the same level as Adams. I didn't know him, and it appears that Adams only met him recently.
I didn't brag about it to him, and I left the room. My legs were heavy, and I was filled with rage, wanting to stab that man over and over again. I want to set fire to his body. Who is he that he believes he is? He didn't even look into my background to discover who I was. I couldn't explain my expression when I got to my office. Who told him he had to catch me? Suddenly, he turns into a mushroom, and he compels me to thank him. Perhaps his brain is being affected.
I sat on my swivel chair, looking for potential distractions. I don't want to waste my time thinking about how frustrated I am. I signed everything to complete the task, but my mind kept returning to the attractive but arrogant man's face! I'm stabbing the pen on my desk, and I imagine it's him.
I haven't even been able to get a hundred strikes at the table. I didn't say anything because I knew it was only Tiffany. I allowed her to open the door. I was not mistaken when the door opened. But even before she opened the door completely, I noticed the man I had been thinking about — not because I liked him, but because of what he had stated earlier.
"What are you doing here?" I said, raising my voice.
