Alpha's Wife Hunt

Chapter 357

Ch. 357 / 840 May 06, 2026

Tabitha's POV

I turned my head towards her while having cream of mushroom soup. Once she hung up, I asked, "Is something wrong with your family?"

"My brother got hit by a car and broke his leg. Tabitha, I..."

Before she could finish, I cut in, "I'll give you two days off. Go home and check on him. Family comes first."

"Thank you, Tabitha, but you..."

"I have so many doctors, servants, and bodyguards here just to attend to me. You don't have to worry about me. How about this? I'll instruct the finance department to pay you this month's salary in advance."

"Tabitha, that's really not necessary."

"Just go, and I'll handle it for you. I'll get someone to drive you to the hospital." I waved and instructed Spike to take Joanna there, and I also gave a heads-up to the surgeon in advance.

I had long noticed that Spike had a feeling for Joanna, but her mind was all on Austin.

I wouldn't judge whether that guy was decent or not, but at least I knew Spike well, so I didn't mind offering him a chance.

When Spike left, I winked at him. He knew what I was implying, so he turned beet red as he hurried away.

I watched the sea as the wind blew, my fingers lightly touching my belly.

An Omega came over to take away the tableware and reminded me, "Tabitha, it looks like it's going to rain. Let's go inside now."

I looked at the heavy dark clouds overhead, nodding in agreement. It seemed that a storm would come.

"Okay."

"Here, I'll support you. Take it slow."

I held my belly while the Omega supported my arm. She looked at me with concern, probably because of how big my bump was.

"The two little ones have caused you a lot of trouble. It's only been six months and your belly has already grown so big. What will happen in the later stages? Fetuses will start growing like crazy in the seventh and eighth months of your pregnancy."

My face only grew slightly rounder than before; my waist was equally slender; my figure had hardly changed, so it seemed like all the weight gain was concentrated in my belly.

"Slow and steady wins the race. As long as the babies are healthy, I'm cool with whatever discomfort comes my way."

I took it slow heading back to my room. Every now and then, I'd glance up at the ocean waves crashing wildly in the wind.

After returning to my room, I settled on the bed, resting and watching the gloomy and even scary sky.

I felt uneasy every time the weather was like this. So I closed the curtains and listened to soft music to calm my mood.

Two hours later, I called Joanna and asked, "Is your brother okay?"

"It's not that bad. The surgery has just been done by the best orthopedic doctor. They say he's young, so he should bounce back quickly. Thank you, Tabitha."

"Not at all."

"I promise I'll be back ASAP!"

"Take good care of your brother. Everything is fine on my end." I hung up the phone. Even though Joanna was older than me, I was actually much more composed than her.

I was relieved when I confirmed that her little brother was safe. Not long after, Spike returned.

I leisurely sipped on my hot tea and asked, "Why don't you spend more time with her at the hospital? Both of her parents are sick. Wouldn't it be nice for you to be by her side, taking care and supporting her?"

"Tabitha, it's not that I didn't want to, but I didn't wanna act like a third wheel there. It's better to come back."

"What?" I put down the cup. "Tell me about it."

"That Austin guy heard about the accident and came to the hospital, too. They had chemistry between them and I could tell that. I didn't wanna be there." Spike was a tall man, but at this moment, he looked like a child who had done something wrong, hanging his head in dejection.

"Did you see that guy? What do you think?"

"Nothing special. He has two eyes and one nose, just like everyone else."

I couldn't help but chuckle softly. "With such a personality, no wonder you can't win her heart over."

Crystal chimed in inside me, "He's really straightforward."
