Wedded To The Ruthless Mafia Boss

No more secrets 1

Ch. 123 / 166 Jan 15, 2026

Darian stirred on the bed he was laying on, his hands tossing on the bed. He pushed his head up to see Lena's head holding him back from moving his hand, she was asleep, her head on his hand. He smiled a little, his eyes on her for a long time.

He tried to move again but his arm hurt and he didn't want to interrupt Lena's sleep. Without being told, he already figured that she must be terribly worried about him.

He suddenly felt a pang of guilt stinging his chest. He felt horrible for not thinking about her before going out to meet his enemy.

Jay slipped into the room, shutting the door behind him. A gasp escaped his mouth when he saw that Darian was awake. Very quickly, a big smile appeared on his sullen face.

"Boss, you are awake." He said as he hobbled towards Darian with a bag in his hand. Lena had told him to get her clothes from Tina at home, he got a few ones for Darian too.

"Jay," Darian sounded weak. Though he tried not to show it, Jay was quick to detect the weakness in his voice. "How long has she been here?" He asked, his eyes darting to Lena, who was still sleeping on his hand

"She's been with you since the Doctors brought you here. She refused to go home, she insisted on staying here until you wake up." Jay answered, lowering the bag in his hand to one of the drawers. "How do you feel boss? We were worried about you." He moved an inch closer to him, scrutinising him.

"I am alive and that's what matters. Did they survive?" He asked about the men he ordered Jay to save. He nodded his head dryly. "Why?" Darian raised his brows.

"Three of our men are alive, two of his men survived too," Jay said sadly.

Darian nodded his head, his expression gloomy. He was disheartened by the news, but there was nothing he could do. The men knew they could die anytime before they agreed to work for him.

Lena heard faint sounds in her sleep, she slowly lifted her head to see Darian conversing with Jay. She sat up, rubbing her eyes with her fingers like she was trying to figure out who the man in front of her was. She stared at Darian and tears dropped down her cheeks.

"Darian!"

"Lena," he smiled guiltily. His eyes were on her as she glared at him, the tears in her eyes were getting more intense. He didn't like that, he stretched his arm to wipe her tears but quickly pulled back when it hurt so bad. Lena sat on the bed, holding his bandaged arm. "I am sorry, I didn't want you to worry about me, Lena." He touched her with his other active arm.

"Don't hurt your arm," she didn't stop crying. "You should get well soon." She ignored his words. She was mad at him, she was so sad but now wasn't the time to unleash her anger on him. "How do you feel? How is your arm?" She looked at Darian, his lips twitching in a smile. "Why are you smiling?"

"I am good, Lena." He sat up, resting his back on the wall.

He felt it, he knew she was mad at him, but didn't want to talk about it.

Jay stood there, watching them like they were an interesting soap opera.

Darian grabbed Lena with his active arm, pulling her closer to his chest, he kissed her lips and looked into her eyes. "You should stop crying, I am sorry I left without letting you know." He pressed a long kiss to her forehead when she didn't stop crying, he patted her back and relished her warmth.

He was thankful he made it to life, he didn't even want to think of what would have happened if he had died, he didn't want to ever leave Lena anymore.

"I was scared, Darian. I thought I would lose you the second time." The tears didn't stop, she sniffled as she talked to him. "You left without letting me know and they came home to tell me that you've been shot, do you even know how I felt? I thought I would never see you talk to me anymore, I was scared and…" She burst out loudly, the tears gushed very fast. "Please Darian, don't ever leave me."

Jay smiled, his eyes still on his boss and his wife.

"I won't leave you anymore, Lena." He let her place her head on his shoulder for a while. When her tears had subdued, she lifted her head from his shoulder and stared into his eyes.

"I love you, Darian. I love you so much." She said, not caring if Jay was with them in the room.

Darian looked over to Jay, he saw as he moved his eyes away from them, focusing his attention on the painting that was hung on the wall. He smiled and shook his head.

"Are you mad at me?" He looked back to his wife. She nodded her head, closing her eyes.

"No, I am not anymore. I was, but there is no use for that anymore. I am glad you are alive, I was terrified." She stood to her feet, walking to the drawer side to get the bag Jay brought for them.

"The Doctors removed the bullet." She said sadly. "You had a bullet in your arm, Darian. Must have hurt a lot." She sat beside him on the bed, his gaze not leaving her.

"It did, but thoughts of you made me fight for life."

"Darian," she sighed. "Can you stop being Don?" Concern was evident in her voice as she gawked at her husband with a serious expression.

Jay shot her a glare when she said those words.

"I can't stop being a Don," he smiled.

"You go through this all the time and I am so scared I'd lose you someday. Darian, I don't want to lose you. I won't live without you in my life, I will be miserable."

"You don't have to worry anymore, my wife. The enemy is dead and we will be more careful henceforth." He said, giving her a reassuring smile.

The smile she had missed for the past forty-eight hours. She had been praying for her husband to live. She lost it at one point and even called Lisa to let her know Darian was dying.

She had imagined different things while Darian was still unconscious, so many scary things. Seeing Darian back to life and smiling, melted her heart. She didn't wish for anything else than his smiles, she loved him too much to live without him.

When the Doctor told her she'd have to wait for hours before Darian regained his consciousness, she didn't argue. She just asked to stay with him until he opened his eyes and she had been with him for twelve hours until now.

"The Doctor said the arm would have to be in a cast for now, boss. You won't be able to use it for some time." Jay broke the news to him.

Lena nodded her head, she didn't want to break the sad news to her husband.

"When will it heal?" Darian groaned, hating the fact that he would not be able to use his arm for a while.
