Wedded To The Ruthless Mafia Boss

I have seen this before

Ch. 140 / 166 Jan 15, 2026

As soon as Darian got home, he summoned all his bodyguards and warned them against letting anyone into his house without his permission.

Isabella was now home with them and he had a feeling that they might be after him to find out if he had a relationship with his mother, the one they'd given the title of an enemy.

"I will go see her in the guest room," Lena said to Darian when they were in the living room. "She will be fine, you don't have to bother about her, trust her with me. We are friends already." She smiled, linking her arms with Darian. She looked up at him, leaning forward to kiss his cheeks. "You've been stressed out lately, how about you just rest and…" He crashed his lips onto hers, kissing her senselessly, halting her mid-sentence.

"Darian, she might be watching us." She pushed him away, but he pulled her closer.

"She's with her maid, and besides, you started it first. Didn't you?" He teased her lips, caressing her cheeks as he stared lovingly into her eyes. "And now, I feel like I want you." He smirked.

"I have to go attend to her, see what she wants before we, huh…" She scratched her head.

"Fuck?" Darian winked at her.

"Come on, don't be so vulgar." She hit his shoulder lightly. "You didn't have to say that dirty word." She said, blushing.

"A dirty word? But you like it, don't you?" He chuckled, melting her heart.

She loved it when he laughed, she loved it more whenever she was the cause of his laughter. It always softened her heart.

"I don't know if I do." They stared into each other's eyes, not breaking eye contact. Darian leaned down to kiss her lips. "I love you, Darian," Lena muttered, intertwining their fingers.

"I love you more and thanks for all that you do. I wouldn't have done anything without you. I would have been confused, but you are in my life, illuminating my world of darkness. You bring so much light into my life, Lena and I am thankful for that. Thanks for being my wife, I don't want anyone else but you." He pressed a kiss to her forehead, glancing at her like she was the most precious thing in the world.

"Darian," she murmured. "You are my world and it gladdens me when I can do things for you. You have done and sacrificed so much for me and sometimes I feel like there is no way I am ever going to repay you for all that you have done." She smiled, "But now that I can do something to make you happy, I am happy as well. And I promise to do it well. I will take care of your mother and make sure she gets well to know that you are her son." She looked at him.

"You can use her name for now." He said. "I haven't accepted the fact that she's my mother."

Lena laughed, wriggling her head. "I understand you, but I do know something for sure." She freed herself from his grip, heading towards the guest room. He followed behind, bumping hips with her.

"What do you know?" He questioned.

"I know what I know, Darian and you don't have to know." She halted on her steps, gripping the doorknob. "She likes it when I am alone with her, she would not talk if she knows that you are with me. So, stay here while I attend to her."

"Yeah, I know." He leaned against the door. "But I don't want you to go. Don't you think her maid can take care of her?"

"Darian, we are getting her to know you. And her maid doesn't know much about us, and you. I have to be with her, spend more time with her, talk about you to her." She uttered, pressing the doorknob.

"I trust whatever you want to do." He raised his hand in surrender. "I have to attend to something, and Gaius called too. He wants to see me urgently, I don't know what it is about yet, but I know it has to do with that woman in there." He said, pointing to the door.

"They won't hurt her, will they?" Lena panicked.

"No, I won't let them do that. And for now, I can't let them know about her. Go in with her, I will give you a call before I leave for Gaius's." He kissed her, watching as she opened the door and slid into the room.

Rubbing his fingers against his temples, Darian sighed. Things were easier when he had Lena in his life, she just had a way of easing his mind off worries.

He pressed his ear to the door to listen to the conversation going on inside the room, but he couldn't hear anything. He sighed and sauntered into his study.

-

Lena stood by the door, shock evident in her expression as she stared at the painting in Isabella's hands. Fat fold of tears dropped down her cheeks. She walked down to where Lena was standing and moved the painting in front of her.

"I have seen this before and it reminds me so much of him. Tell me, Lena. Who owns it and what is it doing here?" Isabella threw questions at her. Her maid left the room to get some things for her.

Lena staggered on her feet, she had no idea what Isabella was talking about. The painting had been in the guest room since she moved into the house and she had specially taken an interest in it because it portrayed love in a very beautiful and natural way, she always imagined the artist to be brilliant.

Although she had never asked Darian about it, she kind of knew that he would never buy something like that because it was obvious that he wasn't romantically involved with anyone before he married her.

Then she sighed, if that painting didn't belong to her husband then it would belong to someone close to him. Maybe one of the many ladies he'd slept with in the past.

"Raymond wanted to get it for me at the art gallery and…" Isabella cried out. "I guess your husband got it for you."

"No," Lena raised her hand. She got it now, if the painting didn't belong to Darian, then it belonged to his father, Raymond.

She sighed. If Isabella could remember the painting from many years ago then, it was positive that she'd regain her memory if she stayed with them for a little longer.
