Toby pointed at the transparent container just sent in and said, "Miss Santos, have you ever seen the diving performance? This is what you need to perform, Miss Santos. Please enter the container."
Then, the workers who carried the container in quickly went to the bathroom. They used a nylon pipe to connect the faucet to the container and fill it with water. The water gradually filled the transparent container with a splashing sound.
Lillian's face became completely pale.
"I will die." Lillian shook her head repulsively.
"We won't watch you die." Toby smiled even more kindly and said, "It usually takes four to six minutes for a person to die from drowning. As soon as you stay in the water for three minutes, we will get someone to go in and pull you out."
"If that's the case, why are you offering two hundred thousand dollars?"
Lillian still maintained her sense though tempted by a large sum of money.
"Miss Santos, accidents happen from time to time, right?"
Toby's meaning was clear. They hated to see an accident happen, but if it did, there was nothing they could do.
Lillian felt disturbed. His explanation put her life in danger.
Lillian tilted her head in panic. What could she do?
Fittro Club was not backing her at all. She regretted not listening to Christine back then. She regretted not taking Fittro Club's dark secret as a big deal.
Lillian knew that it was too late to regret it now.
Suddenly, she thought of something.
She suddenly looked up, took a deep breath, and nervously said to Toby, "Mr. Terry, I know someone more suitable for this performance! And she loves money!"
"Well, tell me who it is." Toby looked at Lillian with a smile.
Was Lillian the "special woman" that Derrick was talking about?
Toby thought Lillian looked quite innocent, but a sophisticated man like him had seen many pure girls like Lillian.
Misled by Lillian's young age, Toby didn't expect her to be so cunning.
Toby didn't mean to make things difficult for Lillian. Since Lillian recommended someone else to him, Toby would like to meet her.
"Her name is Gloria and she works in PR. She really loves money."
Lillian emphasized that Gloria loved money, so Toby became interested. "Tell me, why do you think she loves money so much?"
If one person struck others as loving money, he or she would appear interesting in Toby's eyes.
Lillian immediately told Toby everything she knew about Gloria at the Fittro Club. "Gloria and I are roommates. She loves money so much that she can do anything for it. Mr. Terry, if you want to see an exciting performance, you should get her. The real-person drowning performance was nothing to her, for she has performed something more difficult than this."
"Really? What has she done?"
"'Gloria can lie on her stomach and wag her tail to beg for pity. There's no exaggeration in my words. It really happened. She just lay on her stomach and moved like a dog while wagging her tail to pick up the money on the ground. All of us in the Fittro Club know about this. So, she will be the most suitable actress for this performance."
"Then I'd like to meet her." Toby laughed. "Beta, go and ask her over."
Lillian breathed a sigh of relief. She still hesitated when she thought Gloria might be in danger, but she felt relieved the next moment.
Lillian thought, 'Didn't the guest say that the performance would only last three minutes? Someone will pull her out anyway.
I am not trying to harm her. Gloria should thank me for helping her get an opportunity to make money.'
The Blue Moon Pack's Beta soon brought Gloria to Room 3.
Toby looked at the pale-faced Gloria and frowned. "She's so ugly."
Lillian got nervous and frightened because of Toby's words.
Never had she wished for Gloria to be more gorgeous.
If Toby ruled out Gloria because of her ugly face, wouldn't Lillian be the pitiful thing in the end?
Lillian carefully stole a glance at the rectangle transparent container. The water inside was more than a meter high. She hurriedly said to Toby, "Sir, don't judge a book by its cover. Gloria will definitely perform well."
Gloria had only been here for a while, but judging from the conversation between Toby and Lillian, she knew that today's so-called performance was another gamble of life.
Toby looked at Gloria doubtfully and asked, "Is she telling the truth?"
Gloria's shoulders trembled. Two people asked her if Lillian's words were true today.
She smiled. Instead of looking at Toby, she turned to look at Lillian.
Gloria's gaze embarrassed Lillian, for the latter thought she had been seen through. Her face blushing, Lillian did not dare to look Gloria in the eye.
Lillian straightened her back and said with little confidence, "It's a good offer. You'll be given two hundred thousand dollars."
Gloria silently tilted her head back.
She thought, 'Why aren't you willing to perform then, Lillian?'
Gloria lowered her eyes and blinked. This time, she raised her head and slowly said to Toby, "Four hundred thousand dollars."
"Your name is Gloria, right? Are you bargaining with me?" Toby frowned.
He thought, 'She does love money as Lillian said.'
"Four hundred thousand dollars and I'll do it."
"'Geez! What are you doing? Two hundred thousand dollars is enough! Don't push your luck!" Lillian was worried that Gloria would offend the guest, and she would suffer instead of Gloria. After all, she was not protected by the Fittro Club.
Gloria determinedly looked at Toby. "Four hundred thousand dollars or I quit. I'm risking my life to do this performance, but I'll do my best. Mr. Terry, four hundred thousand dollars is the price. I won't back down."
Gloria needed money desperately.
"Your life is not worth four hundred thousand dollars." Toby snorted.
Gloria said slowly, "You are right. But you are paying for Mr. Terry's joy of watching the performance."
