Hearing Gloria's words, Lillian was even more frightened.
Lillian was afraid of Christine, so she did not stop Gloria anymore, but Lillian hated Gloria even more.
Slowly, Gloria walked out of the hospital.
Lillian did not notice that the humble and incompetent Gloria was getting calmer and more confident as she walked out.
Lillian did not notice that a man was leaning lazily against the door frame of the ward next to Gloria's.
The man glanced at Gloria, who then disappeared at the elevator entrance. Then he walked past Lillian to the elevator.
Gloria took the elevator downstairs. She had a problem with her legs, so she walked slowly.
She walked out of the hospital and stood at the intersection to get a taxi.
"I want to go to Fittro Club. Can you make it a little cheaper?"
The driver glanced at Gloria and said, "I charge by the meter. If you don't want to go, I'll leave now."
The driver wouldn't give her a discount.
Gloria searched in the pocket of her coat. She looked up and said, "I only have ten dollars on me."
"That will do. Get in the car," the driver said.
Normally she would not take a taxi. It was too expensive.
However, today, she thought that she might be able to forget her poor situation and take a taxi.
She wanted to be like most people on this avenue, living with dignity.
The taxi arrived at Fittro Club. Gloria got out of the car. She stood at the entrance. The club looked nice with luxurious decorations.
She was not in a hurry to go in. She raised her hand and straightened her clothes.
She removed the gauze from her forehead and fixed her bangs to cover her stitches.
When everything was done, Gloria straightened her back and looked straight. She walked into the brightly lit Fittro Club.
Behind her, a blue sports car stopped at the door of the Fittro Club.
The window of the sports car was down, revealing a charming and handsome face. This person was the strange man who had watched Lillian and Gloria talk in the hospital.
At this moment, his eyes were flashing with excitement and desire for his prey.
"Gloria?" His gaze had been fixed on the entrance of Fittro Club.
After a while, he slowly took out his phone from his suit pocket and dialed a number. He lazily asked over the phone, "Mike, have you met the most beautiful woman?"
The person on the other end of the line fell silent. He did not answer the question. Instead, he asked, "Who has become your prey this time?"
The man in front of Fittro Club immediately burst into laughter. He said, "You know me well."
"What's she like?" Mike would never have guessed that it was Gloria, the woman he met once.
This was not Mike's fault. His friend had been keen on gorgeous women.
"Mike, this is the most interesting woman I have ever seen. I think I won't be bored for the next three months in Gabbs."
Mike was amazed. He immediately said, "You think so highly of her?"
Three months?
This guy had never chased a woman for more than two months.
"She is a very interesting woman, and she is also the most contradictory woman I have ever seen. Have you ever met someone who looked both proud and humble? I think she must have pride in her bones. I am very curious. Who made such a woman become like this? Mike, I want to bring her to her true self."
Mike was inexplicably frightened. He and Lucas had known each other for more than ten years, and Lucas was his pack's Beta.
He had never heard such words from Lucas.
"Do as you please." Mike believed that Lucas was rational. "I won't stop you, Lucas. But you have to understand that a person's feelings can not be toyed with. Don't go too far."
Lucas smiled and hung up the phone.
He got out of the car and slammed the door. Then, he walked toward Fittro Club.
"Why is she here again? Didn't she say that she was not feeling well?"
"Just ignore her."
"Yes, I've heard that Lillian has many conflicts with her while sharing a dorm."
"But still, Lillian takes care of her every day after she gets sick, right?"
After Gloria arrived at Fittro Club, she went straight to the lounge of the Public Relations Department.
Along the way, she had heard many people whispering behind her back. She was used to it already.
She was not stupid. She was well aware of the reason why these words were spreading.
There was probably no one else who cared about the truth.
So, it was pointless to say more about it.
Gloria turned a deaf ear, opened the door of the lounge, and sat in a quiet corner.
However, there was constant buzzing and unkind gazes at her.
Gloria lowered her head, and she subconsciously touched her forehead.
She felt pain from her wound. She only covered it with her bangs.
She didn't do this for Lillian, but for herself. She needed a lot of money.
Compared to the other members of the Public Relations Department, Gloria was like an ugly duckling, yet even so, she still sat in the corner and waited for customers who might have odd hobbies.
"Gloria, come out." The manager of the Public Relations Department stood at the door of the lounge and called out to Gloria expressionlessly.
The surrounding people's eyes lit up. They were all gloating as they waited for Gloria to be scolded.
Gloria was a little hesitant. She slowly walked towards Emily and said, "Emily, I've been sick. Lillian has already asked for leave for me."
Gloria knew that Emily didn't like her.
Emily interrupted her impatiently, "'Gloria, a customer wants you to serve him in the VIP room on the fifth floor."
Emily's words shocked all the other girls in the lounge.
They began to whisper.
"Did I hear it wrong? VIP room?"
"Only rich and powerful people can use VIP rooms. Who is this person?"
"This person chose a VIP room, but why did he pick Gloria?"
"It must be a joke."
"Maybe this guy has strange hobbies. I don't think it's a good thing."
"You're right. I don't want to serve such a customer."
