The Rebirth of My Dead Billionaire Wife

Chapter 154

Ch. 154 / 300 Apr 25, 2026

Alessia and Pamela strolled into the upscale bridal shop, the soft chime of the bell signaling their arrival. Rows of sparkling wedding gowns lined the walls, each one more extravagant than the last. Alessia felt a mix of excitement and nervousness as she ran her fingers over the delicate fabrics. This was supposed to be the fun part of wedding planning—finding the dress—but something about the experience already felt overwhelming.

“I can already feel the drama brewing,” Pamela teased, nudging Alessia with her elbow. “I know you, Alessia. You’re going to hate half of these before you even try them on.”

“Not true,” Alessia said, though her laugh betrayed her nerves. “I just… want it to be perfect. Is that too much to ask?”

“Absolutely not,” Pamela said with mock seriousness. “But don’t worry. I’m here to make sure you don’t settle for anything less than jaw-dropping.”

The first dress was a ball gown, complete with a glittering bodice and an enormous tulle skirt. Alessia stepped out of the fitting room, glancing at herself in the mirror.

“You look like a Disney princess,” Pamela said, clapping her hands together. “It’s so dramatic!”

Alessia turned from side to side, frowning. “I look like I’m about to audition for Cinderella on Ice. It’s too much.”

Pamela shrugged. “Fair. Let’s try the next one.”

The second dress was a sleek, minimalist design with a high neckline and no embellishments. Alessia tilted her head as she studied her reflection.

“Very chic,” Pamela said, sipping the complimentary champagne the boutique had provided. “But it’s not… you.”

Alessia sighed. “It feels like I’m going to a business gala, not my wedding.”

Pamela nodded. “Next!”

After five more dresses, Alessia slumped into a chair in the corner of the fitting room. “This is hopeless. None of these are right.”

Pamela crouched beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder. “Hey, don’t give up. We’re just getting started. And if we don’t find anything here, there are a million other shops.”

Alessia smiled weakly. “Thanks, Pam. Let’s get out of here. I need cake to recover.”

A short drive later, they arrived at a charming bakery known for its wedding cakes. The scent of vanilla and buttercream greeted them as they walked in, instantly lifting Alessia’s spirits.

“Now this is my kind of wedding prep,” Pamela said, rubbing her hands together as they sat down at a table covered with small plates of cake samples.

The baker brought out an array of flavors: classic vanilla, decadent chocolate, lemon raspberry, red velvet, and even an unexpected pistachio. Alessia’s eyes lit up as she picked up her fork.

“Okay, first things first—lemon raspberry,” Pamela said, pointing at the plate. “It looks amazing.”

Alessia took a bite, her face brightening. “Oh wow. That’s incredible.”

Pamela nodded, already tasting the chocolate one. “This is good too. Like, really good.”

They worked their way through the samples, each one better than the last. By the end, Alessia was torn between the lemon raspberry and the classic vanilla.

“You could always do a multi-tiered cake,” Pamela suggested. “Different flavors on each tier. That way, everyone’s happy.”

Alessia nodded thoughtfully. “That’s actually a great idea. And it’ll look so elegant.”

“You’re welcome,” Pamela said, grinning.

With their cake decisions made, the two friends decided to wander through the nearby shopping district. The streets were lined with charming boutiques, their displays filled with unique finds. Alessia walked slowly, enjoying the crisp afternoon air, when something in a nearby window made her stop in her tracks.

“Pamela,” she said, grabbing her friend’s arm. “Look.”

Pamela followed her gaze and gasped. In the window of a small boutique was a wedding dress unlike any Alessia had seen that day. It was elegant and timeless, with a fitted lace bodice, long sleeves, and a flowing silk skirt that shimmered softly in the light. The deep V-back added a touch of drama, while the delicate lace appliqués gave it a romantic flair.

“Oh my God,” Pamela whispered. “That’s the one. I can feel it.”

Alessia nodded, her heart pounding. “I need to try it on.”

The two hurried inside, where a friendly sales associate greeted them. “Welcome! Can I help you find something?”

“That dress in the window,” Alessia said breathlessly. “Can I try it on?”

The associate smiled warmly. “Of course. It’s one of our exclusives. Let me grab it for you.”
