The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Misery’s Attempt

Ch. 419 / 790 May 05, 2026

The training hall echoed with the sound of Eryon’s claws slicing through shadow constructs, the creatures dissolving into dark mist with each strike. His movements were a blur—precise, brutal, and unrelenting. Misery leaned against the doorframe, watching him with a knot of worry tightening in her chest. His amber eyes glowed with a ferocity that wasn’t entirely his own anymore.

When the last construct dissipated, Eryon stood panting, his shoulders heaving. The hall emptied as the other trainees filed out, leaving the two of them alone. Misery stepped into his path, her usual smirk replaced with something softer, more vulnerable.

“You’re pushing too hard,” she said, her voice tinged with concern.

Eryon’s gaze flicked to her, his tone sharp. “I have to. You’ve seen Cassian fight. He’ll kill me when the time comes.”

Misery folded her arms, standing firm. “That’s not strength, Eryon. That’s fear. And it’s turning you into something you’re not.”

He froze, his jaw tightening. “What choice do I have? This is what I have to be.”

Misery stepped closer, her crimson eyes searching his face. “They’re using you, shaping you into a weapon for their war. You’re letting them take everything that makes you, you.”

Eryon’s breath hitched, and for a moment, his hardened exterior cracked. Misery reached out, her hand brushing against his arm. “You’re more than their weapon. I’ve seen it. Felt it.”

He hesitated, the turmoil in his eyes evident. Misery took another step closer, her voice dropping to a whisper. “Let me remind you of who you are. Not the wolf. Not the warrior. Just Eryon.”

Before he could pull away, she leaned in and kissed him—soft, hesitant at first, but quickly growing more desperate, as though trying to anchor him back to the person he was. Eryon’s defenses wavered, and then, with a growl that was equal parts surrender and need, he kissed her back. Their connection was raw, electric, and filled with the urgency of two people clinging to each other in a world determined to break them.

In the shadows of the stronghold, Seraphine and Eira observed through a magical projection. Eira sneered, her disdain palpable. “She’s dangerous. Her emotions will weaken him.”

Seraphine’s expression remained cold, her silver eyes glinting with calculation. “A liability. If she threatens his potential, I’ll deal with her myself.”

Unaware of the watching eyes, Misery rested her forehead against Eryon’s. “I’ll fight for you, Eryon. Even if you won’t fight for yourself.”

Eryon closed his eyes, but the whispers of Seraphine echoed in his mind, a haunting reminder of her control: They’ll always try to chain you. Only I can set you free.

Lyra stood before a full-length mirror, her reflection unfamiliar. The ceremonial gown Isla had prepared for her clung to her form, its intricate embroidery glinting in the candlelight. The white and silver fabric symbolized her lineage as the White Wolf’s heir, but the weight of the role pressed heavily on her chest.

Cassian entered the room, his amber eyes taking her in. His expression was unreadable, though his voice betrayed a hint of vulnerability. “This is supposed to unify us,” he said quietly. “But it feels like we’re more divided than ever.”

Lyra hesitated, meeting his gaze through the mirror. “We’ll figure it out.”

He nodded, but the tension lingered. As he extended a hand to her, guiding her toward the altar, Lyra felt the Mating Mark on her chest pulse faintly, a reminder of the bond she couldn’t ignore. Her thoughts strayed to Adrian, and a pang of guilt tightened her throat.

The ceremony began under the cold night sky, the pack’s howls rising in unison. Cassian’s hand enveloped hers as they approached the sacred altar, their footsteps slow and deliberate. The Alpha and Luna exchange commenced, their vows echoing through the clearing as the pack bore witness.

Cassian’s voice was steady, his words firm. “For the strength of the pack, I claim you as my Luna.”

Lyra hesitated before replying, her voice trembling but resolute. “For the survival of our people, I accept.”

As the final words of the ceremony were spoken, the distant sound of horns shattered the peace. The air grew heavy with the scent of blood and decay as dark figures emerged from the shadows. The Shadowbound vampires, led by Variss, surged into the territory, their movements swift and lethal.

“Get to safety!” Cassian roared, his claws already extending as he pushed Lyra behind him.

“No,” Lyra said, her voice cracking. “I’m not leaving you.”

Cassian turned to her, his amber eyes blazing. “You’re my Luna. Protecting you is all that matters. Now run!”

Tears streamed down Lyra’s face as she took a step back, her wolf instincts warring with her human heart. The ache in her chest was almost unbearable as she heard Cassian’s final command before launching himself into the fray.

“Protect my Luna!”
