The Chosen Luna: Alpha’s Unwanted Daughter

Forbidden Flames

Ch. 443 / 790 May 05, 2026

The quiet night enveloped the group as they made their way through the forest, the only sounds the crunch of leaves underfoot and the occasional distant call of an owl. The air was thick with unspoken tension, each step heavy with the weight of decisions yet to be made.

Isla and Draven lagged behind, their hushed conversation too quiet for anyone else to hear. Isla’s voice trembled as she whispered, “I’ll never find peace as his mother unless we try to save him.”

Draven reached for her hand, his grip firm yet tender. “We’ll find him, Isla. No matter the cost. But Lyra…” His voice faltered, thick with emotion. “She’s strong, and she has Cassian. They can lead the pack while we’re gone.”

Isla nodded, her tear-streaked face illuminated by the pale moonlight. “She’s ready. We’ve prepared her for this.”

At the front of the group, Lyra walked beside Adrian, her mind racing with her parents’ decision. She barely noticed Adrian’s troubled expression until he spoke.

“Lyra,” he said softly, his voice barely audible over the rustle of leaves.

She slowed her steps, glancing at him. “What is it?”

Adrian hesitated, his usually confident demeanor replaced with vulnerability. His crimson eyes met hers, unguarded and raw. “I need to tell you something.”

Lyra stopped completely, her brow furrowing. “Adrian…?”

He inhaled deeply, as if bracing himself. “I love you,” he said simply. “I’ve always loved you. But I know I don’t belong in your world. I just… I want to be there for you, in whatever way I can. Let me stand by your side.”

Lyra’s breath caught, her heart aching at the honesty in his voice. For a moment, she was silent, then she reached out, her hand resting gently on his arm. “Of course, Adrian,” she whispered. She stepped closer, wrapping her arms around him and resting her head briefly against his chest. “You’ll always have a place with me.”

The warmth of their connection was shattered by a deep, guttural growl. Lyra’s head snapped up to see Cassian standing in the shadows, his amber eyes blazing with fury. His massive frame seemed to darken the clearing, his clenched fists trembling with barely contained rage.

In an instant, Cassian crossed the distance between them, tackling Adrian to the ground. The two men hit the forest floor with a dull thud, Adrian barely managing to roll with the force.

Adrian didn’t flinch as Cassian’s claws pressed against his chest, the weight of the Alpha bearing down on him like a thunderstorm. The forest seemed to hold its breath, the distant rustle of leaves drowned out by the low, menacing growl in Cassian’s throat.

“You think you can take what’s mine?” Cassian snarled, his amber eyes glowing with a fiery intensity that could have burned through steel.
