“I said no talking,” I growled.
I shoved a piece of cloth into Nas’s mouth as I continued to ride him. For the past months I haven’t been able to find anything on James. Stupid scarf didn’t do me any favors. No matter what I tried, I wasn’t able to get his exact location. I was so close to him that day. So close to being with him. It was frustrating. So frustrating, I needed an outlet.
Entered Nas. Ever since that day I rescued him from the dungeons, he’s been quiet. Too quiet. I felt he wasn’t grateful for the fact that I saved his life, even those of his men. I was the one who ordered them to escape and burn down Mirja’s bar before Isaiah’s men got there.
I gave them a place of refuge when the ‘secret’ base was found out. He should have been more appreciative but instead, as we f.ucked, I knew he was angry and he needed to get it out. We still had a lot to do.
He spit out the gab and flipped me over to my belly. He entered me from behind roughly. He pulled my head back by my hair and whispered, “Don’t ever tell me what to do.”
Yeah, he was pissed and he took it out on my body. Isaiah was never so rough and treated me like a delicate little thing. Lucky for Nas, I was enjoying this. I could care less what he was angry about, but I wanted him to think I cared. Besides, I had my own frustrations.
You are a disgrace, Elena growled.
She’s been more talkative lately. Ever since I left Isaiah and his pack. Here I was thinking she was some weak wolf. She still was but that didn’t stop her from sharing her feelings. I was starting to think I had corrupted her.
Look at who’s up and getting on my nerves once again.
What would James think? Giving yourself to other men like a whore.
Wow, Elena. I didn’t think you knew such-
My words were cut short when Nas yanked my hair a bit rougher than before.
“Isn’t it rude to talk to others during sex,” he said in my ear.
I laugh more at myself thinking back to the first phone call we had when he was f.ucking someone else. He started thrusting behind me at a faster pace. Both of our breaths became a bit unstable. I could feel myself getting closer to a climax. Nas’s fingers dug into my skin so hard I knew I was going to have some bruises after this.
We continued to match each other’s speed until I felt my climax release on his cock. He gave a few more hard, wonderful thrusts, spilling his seed inside me. He pulled out and fell to the side as I laid down on my stomach.
“Someone’s a little rougher today. Is there a reason why?”
“Are you complaining now,” Nas asked, a crooked smile while getting up to get dressed.
“What? No cuddling anymore,” I joked as I got up and donned my robe.
He looked at me and laughed a little. “Guess I’m not in the mood.” He walked towards the door and stopped. He turned around and stared at me. “Did you kill Frank and Danny?”
I looked at him a bit surprised. I had a feeling this had been bothering him since we got here. His little whispering to his men didn’t go unheard, especially since Omega Lisa was bedding one of them. So, of course, I had plans just in case this came up. Honestly, I didn’t think he was man enough to ask me, but here we were.
“Yes.” I let out a heavy sigh. “Wow. I guess it really does feel better to just get that out.”
I poured myself a drink from my little bar situated on one of the walls. I could feel Nas’s eyes burning a hole in my back.
“How could you,” Nas growled, lunging at me.
It only took a second to freeze him in mid-air. Slowly sipped my cocktail while walking around him.
“Is it really that surprising, Nas? I thought you liked this part of me. Bad girl in and all.”
“They were my men, Alaia,” he growled, straining against my hold.
“Danny was nothing but a greedy, traitorous son-of-a-bitch. Did you know he wanted to overthrow you? Felt like you weren’t running your little crew the way he wanted. Frank, on the other hand, was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.”
I traced my finger down his face and noticed the rage in his eyes. It turned me on to see such fierceness, but there sitting in the back of his eyes was fear. Small but noticeable.
“My men know what you have done. You will pay,” he spat at me.
I could only laugh at his miniscule threat. I walked over to ring a little bell next to my nightstand.
“Let’s find out, shall we?”
Two of his men walked through the door. I released Nas and he fell to the floor.
“It seems Nas doesn’t like the comforts I’ve provided him, so take him to the dungeons. He might be more comfortable.”
The two men grabbed him and he looked surprised. “What the hell are you doing? She murdered two of our brothers. It’s her we should be detaining.”
A lot has changed since that night on the cliff. The moment Nas was caught, I knew I had to find a way to get as many rogues on my side as possible. What better way to start than his men? Do you know what speaks more volume between loyalty and money? Money. That was all I needed to get his men to turn on him and when word spread, more came knocking at my door. I had enough men for a small pack.
They wrestled for a bit and I noticed Nas was definitely more skilled than them. I rang the bell again for some backup right when Nas threw one guy into the wall and snapped the other’s neck. This was more entertainment than I bargained for. He growled at me but before he had a chance to attack, a few more men came in to tackle him. Even then, he managed to throw some of them off. Goddess he was strong.
Omega Lisa suddenly appeared in the doorway and I gave her a small nod. I knew it was going to be hard to detain Nas, so I had Omega Lisa give him a shot of wolfsbane to calm him down a bit. When he finally calmed down, I had the guards move him to the dungeons. I wasn’t done with him just yet.
I got cleaned up and dressed before going to my office. I looked at the mirror that held the spell of finding James. Next to it was only a scrap of his scarf left. The spell was slowly consuming the only thing I had connected to James.
Looking at the little scrap that was left, I knew it was losing ground on finding him. Every time I used it, the image of a forest would appear. I had that location searched and came up with nothing. It was almost like he was invisible.
“What’s the news on Omega Mary,” I asked Omega Lisa, who followed me in.
She started updating me on everything she got from Omega Mary. It seemed my plan to make her look like the victim worked. Now she was my obedient little informant.
So far, Luna Bella was still in a coma from when her mate died. Victoria was healing but there was a riff between her and Isabella, Isaiah was drinking himself into oblivion, and Isabella is just trying to keep them all above water.
I knew she sent more search parties out for Zira but each one was unsuccessful. I was at least hoping a body would be found just to confirm her demise, but nothing. It was like she disappeared entirely, which still works for me.
I dismissed Omega Lisa, making myself another drink before walking over to the mirror. I touched the piece that was leftover. It won’t be long before it’s gone. I was lost in thought when the mirror began to shine. Something was happening. I stood there waiting anxiously for it to reveal something new. The mirror burned bright and I shielded my eyes. When I turned back, I saw him.
He was pacing back and forth somewhere looking nervously at a door. Where the hell was he? The hall he was pacing in looked familiar. Then it hit me. He was at the pack’s hospital. The hospital in the Black Moon Pack. I wondered if he was there to visit Victoria.
Before I could wonder anymore, he looked up with a smile and I nearly melted to the floor. His smile was still heaven sent. I couldn’t wait for it to be me he was smiling at.
Wait! Who is he smiling at? Someone else entered the frame as he gave her a hug, then a kiss. I couldn’t see her face clearly but I did see something on her neck. Something familiar.
The image of Maria flashed before my eyes. The mark on her neck resembled the one on this girl’s neck. He claimed another mate. Another who wasn’t me. The girl turned around and my heart nearly stopped. James bent down and held his arms out to someone. I was a bit confused until I saw a little child run into his arms.
I dropped my glass to the floor, not hearing the sound of it crashing against the screaming in my head. How the hell did she survive? And now she’s…she’s his mate? And her baby is… I grabbed the mirror to get a closer look, thinking my eyes were deceiving me but no. There she was. Zira. On her neck was his mark and in his arms was her child.
I reached out to touch the mirror and I could see the light aura surrounding the child. The voices in my head came alive. They sensed the power this child had as well. They wanted it, needed it. Zira had everything that I wanted. My man. Her child. His mark. All of that belonged to me.
I screamed and everything in the room exploded around me. The amount of anger building inside was difficult to contain. I threw the mirror across the room just as the door opened. Omega Lisa peeked her head inside and I glared at her. From her face, I knew my eyes were pitch black and the sigils were swirling around me accompanied by the voices.
Take his power and you will have everything they whispered.
“Um…Alaia?”
“I’m fine,” I said with a voice devoid of any emotions. “Prepare yourself, Omega Lisa. We’re going to pay a little visit to the Black Moon Pack. They have something I want.”
