CHAPTER 76 - SORCERY"Yaaaaawhn!"

Cecilia yawned tiredly and stretched her body as the sun rose. Her Spell and Alchemy Potion fusion had worked and with her little trick, she must have managed to influence Liam Almandine, even if only a little.

She invented the technique herself. She had tested it on small animals and several horses, and every time, she had always succeeded in getting the animals to obey her. All the animals would immediately respond to her like loyal servants once she used the technique.

She was very proud and wondered how she had come up with such a brilliant idea of combining Magic and Alchemy.

Well, she did have some doubts about this technique because the animals she enchanted would die a few hours later or the next day. They also really obeyed her, but that made them seem no longer had character, just following her wishes like puppets.

But she was sure she would succeed. She had slightly increased her alchemy potion dosage and strengthened her spells with Aura and Holy Power.

Cecilia chuckled, and the door to her room opened.

Ezekiel smiled at her at the door.

"Good morning, Ceci," he said.

"Zeke!" Cecilia ran into Ezekiel's arms and hugged him back tightly. While hugging, she was grateful that Ezekiel was easily influenced, only with the help of a simple charm spell. And then, she just had to act like a white lotus, and this man fell into her hands.

Cecilia hoped that the Male Leads could fall into her hands as easily as Ezekiel. But of course, to get Liam, she had to try a little harder and be a little more careful.

Liam was the Villain of this novel world. Of course, it would be hard to get him. Even though Cecilia had planned everything since she was born to get Liam Almandine.

"Hehehe," Cecilia's mood was so bright today, and that made Ezekiel curious.

"Did you just have a sweet dream?" he asked softly.

Cecilia nodded happily.

"Mm! What a beautiful dream," she replied.

Now, she just had to become the Empress, then all her plans would go smoothly and be easier to carry out. She wouldn't need to use that little trick again, and she just needed to appear directly in front of Liam Almandine to spread her charms.

***

The Old Duke was checking the red stone chest, taking out opaque and dull stones the size of a human head from within. As time went on, his brows furrowed. Of the twelve large stones in the chest, eight were dull and cracked, unusable, and four were still crystal clear, though they looked dim.

He realized that all the large stones in this chest were no longer of maximum strength.

Daniel, who had put his clothes back on after having his clothes torn apart because he turned into a wolf, then received the Old Duke's order to reorder five times more Anti Sorcery stones to the Alchemists.

Even though it had been decades he did not need to buy the stones, everyone, even the experts believed what the Old Duke had done to his castle was too overprotective. However, even after all the protection, they could see that it was still lacking.

Now he didn't want to hear any more of the Alchemists calling him crazy for being obsessed with full anti sorcery fortifications. He also added orders to Daniel to order special negative Artificial Spirits from outside the continent to ward off magic as well.

"Are… are you sure, Your Grace? Isn't importing Artificial Spirits still impossible?" asked Daniel.

The Old Duke growled.

"I will speak to that brat prince from the West asking for import rights. I don't care how much money is needed. The important thing is that no one can harm my family anymore," said the Old Duke, subconsciously glancing at Liam on the bed.

Then, the man turned to Harriet and Heath who were listening intently to his conversation with Daniel. The siblings stared at him intently, not understanding everything he was saying.

"Special negative Artificial Spirit? Anti Sorcery stones?" Heath asked, confused. He had absolutely no idea such things existed.

"Young people today really don't know much about this, do they…" muttered the Old Duke. He had forgotten that knowledge of Sorcery had been destroyed decades ago and knowledge of magic on the Euclase continent was minimal.

That was why Harriet and Heath looked so confused.

Meanwhile, Miriam was still kneeling on the floor, trying to treat Harriet's deep and numerous wounds with the two maids helping her. At the same time, Harriet, who was sitting on the bench, didn't seem to care at all about the state of her injuries.

Her droopy and puffy eyes stared alternately between Old Duke and Liam. Her entire body expression showed extreme worry and unease.

The Old Duke realized that Harriet had been too shaken up today, and when the sun came up, he asked Harriet to just rest.

"Child, don't worry. I won't let this happen again. You should rest, for the sake of yourself and your baby," the Old Duke said in a warm and soothing voice.

Harriet blinked. She slowly wanted to stand up, but Heath, who was standing behind her, grabbed her shoulders.

"Where is Elder Sister planning to go?" he asked.

"Let me write a letter to some of my acquaintances. I will find out about Sorcery and the Sorcerers who might still be left on this Continent in hiding. My friends might also be able to help us figure out what we're dealing with," Harriet's voice was soft, weak and calm. The remnants of her sobs and hoarse voice were still audible, but she was very serious.

"No. That can wait," said the Old Duke. "Accompany Liam. The suppressants, painkillers, and sleeping pills must have worked. He won't be awake for three days, so even the Sorcery won't be able to influence him."

Harriet turned to Liam, who was fast asleep. She was very afraid that the man would not wake up again after all the drugs that had entered his body. She was horrified to see the physicians feeding him bottles of black potion in such a short time.

Harriet turned to Heath.

"Can you write the letters in my name?" she ordered calmly.

Heath sighed and nodded. The young man walked away from the tower. The Old Duke followed after making sure Harriet would really sleep. Meanwhile, Miriam gave Harriet one last hug before leaving.

Now, once again, there were only the two of them in the top room of the tower.

Liam and Harriet.

Slowly Harriet's eyes closed. But when the lavender eyes opened again, the light became cold and empty. She swore with all her soul and being to tear anyone who hurt Liam with her own fingernails.

She would scratch the skin of their face and gouge out their eyes. She would pluck their nails and tear their earlobe.

Whoever they were, Harriet would find them.
