Chapter 67

Ch. 67 / 109 Nov 28, 2025

CHAPTER 67 - BEINGS BORN FROM THE DARKNESSCindy is alive!

For God's sake, she's alive!

Did she reincarnate too? But she didn't seem to remember her previous life...

Or maybe she was not Cindy?

Was she Cindy's descendant?

But Cindy didn't have children before she died… right?

Or… was she still a relative of the Delaroche descendants?

The more he thought of it, the more it made sense. Heinrich, who fled from that place because his heart was pounding with happiness also felt new hope.

Cindy–! From the way she talked, the way she looked at him, the way she walked, and even all the plans that woman had made for his brother!

She really was Cindy!

"Hahaha..." Heinrich wanted to cry and laugh. He wanted to throw a big party!

But that was when he realized something and made his fast walking pace slowly stop.

Harriet Goldlane was Almandine's daughter-in-law. She was… the wife of Liam Almandine–

Cold sweat started dripping down from Heinrich's forehead as his face began to turn pale. His hands were shaking, and his eyes were wide and unsteady.

"Cindy… and Liam Almandine…"

How could fate bring them together?

"Crazy. Fucking impossible. Woahh, amazing," he mumbled as he covered his wide-open mouth. How could the two most powerful people he'd ever known be brought together by a thread of destiny like this?

But…

Isn't this bad?

"Your Highness," a man came into Ezekiel's room that afternoon. He was one of Ezekiel's aides that he left in the Imperial Capital to protect Cecilia, Sir Marcus.

The surprised Ezekiel immediately stood up. "What is it? Why are you here?" asked Ezekiel.

"Your Highness, I have come to inform you that tomorrow, Miss Morganite will arrive in the North. Miss Morganite insisted on going after you a week ago because she had a bad feeling," explained Sir Marcus quickly before Ezekiel panicked.

Ezekiel furrowed his brows.

"And where is she now?" asked Ezekiel.

Sir Marcus lifted his face and replied, "Slightly south of the Northern border, Milord. Miss Morganite will arrive in the afternoon, and I came first to book a hotel room for her in town."

Hearing that, Ezekiel nodded. "Okay, thanks, Mark."

He found it funny because yesterday there had just been a dangerous incident involving Prince Julian. And at the same time, a week earlier, his girlfriend Cecilia felt that way and followed him here. Ezekiel began to admire the instincts of women…

After allowing Mark to leave to finish his work, Ezekiel himself decided to go out for a walk.

As he passed the castle's training grounds, he saw the Old Duke and Heath standing in the centre with dozens of wooden dummies surrounding them. The Old Duke was explaining something to Heath, and Heath was listening seriously.

In Heath's hand was a long sword that Ezekiel knew the young man had been using since the young man's first day in the knight academy.

Over the years, Heath had several other weapons and swords, but the sword he was holding at the time was his favourite sword, which he only used during important events or training. In fact, Heath's physique was more suited to using a greatsword or polearm.

That was just according to Ezekiel alone. He respected people's choice of fighting style, especially since Heath managed to climb to the top of the 3 strongest knights on the Euclase Imperial Continent.

Oh, the 3 strongest knights didn't mean the 3 strongest people on the Euclase Imperial Continent. For example, his father, Emperor Axias, and the Old Duke, as well as several Elf clan leaders who had retreated into the depths of the forest, were not among those three.

Meanwhile, he, the Imperial Crown Prince, was the strongest Knight on this Continent.

The Heath he saw in yesterday's battle had completely turned into a monster. He wielded monster powers and seemed to be able to coordinate very well with the Old Duke. He must have received a lot of instructions from the Old Alpha.

Ezekiel left the field.

At the same time, a complicated expression appeared on Heath's face. He looked at the longsword in his hand and felt an uncomfortable feeling in his chest.

He felt drastic changes in his entire body as he continuously trained his body according to the Lycan ways of fighting. But he realized something was missing from his body.

"Is it true that I can no longer use ?" Heath asked. This thought had been making him worried and he wondered if that was true.

The Old Duke saw the discomfort in Heath's eyes and felt a little guilty. He had just told this young man that the hard work he had built up as a knight from his childhood just disappeared after he was exposed to Lycanthropy.

was a power that came from within a person who studied any martial arts for a long time. was a unique power that represented the hard work of warriors. Only those who work very hard, and only those who were talented could awaken the within them. And that event was called .

Heath was one of the few Knights that was able to experience the second awakening of his . That was what made him the third strongest Knight on the Imperial Continent. With his leadership talent, he also managed to gain many supporters and oversee many other knights.

But after what happened to him because of Julian, everything was lost.

Perhaps, the loss of his ability to use was the last thing that would break his spirits completely.

The problem was, that was a power that only humans and other creatures that didn't get their power from the shadow of the night could awaken. Necromancers, Vampires, Lycans, and Dark Elves won't be able to master .

In the legends, it was because was a power bestowed by the Gods on pure beings, discriminating against beings born from darkness. This was a long-abandoned belief, as the Euclase Empire had decided to accept all beings who were subject to the Empire's supreme government as equal subjects, without discrimination.

"Right now, all I can teach you is how to maximize your strength as an Alpha," said the Old Duke. He wasn't trying to comfort Heath or give him false hope.

So when Heath heard that, his face lifted and his silvery-grey eyes stared straight at the Old Duke.

"And don't worry. You will have hundreds of years to get used to being a Lycan," the Old Duke said flatly and coldly.

Heath tilted his head and smiled blandly. He wanted to stifle a laugh.

"Will I ever be able to become as strong as Young Lord Almandine?" Heath asked quietly.

The Old Duke looked at him expressionlessly. "As strong as he is now? Maybe you can," replied the Old Duke.

Heath raised his eyebrows high, hearing the new hope.

"But to be as strong as he was when he was at the peak of his strength? Maybe not," the Old Duke replied again.

Heath furrowed his brows deeply. He almost forgot Liam was a dying Alpha.

Then how about… the Liam in his prime?

Old Duke himself thought the same thing. Mainly the question of whether Liam had reached his prime before he was seriously injured. If he hadn't been injured, would he have reached a level that might have been much higher than what he had been in the past?

Old Duke, Heath, and this world wouldn't know. And maybe could never know.
