CHAPTER 74 - CECILIA’S PLANSAh.
Maybe Liam could tie a woman's hair so well because Liam had done this for his late wife too, and he did it every night.
Harriet felt ashamed and disappointed in herself at the thought of all that.
How could she feel uncomfortable and jealous of a woman who had long passed away? How could she have such feelings for the woman Liam loved?
Liam chuckled at Harriet's question. Since the man wasn't facing Harriet, he didn't notice the change in his wife's expression.
"That's because I watch my father do it every day," Liam replied as he hugged Harriet tightly from behind. "What do you think? Am I talented enough?" Liam asked.
Harriet laughed as she grabbed a hand mirror from the drawer and got a better look at Liam's handiwork. Her eyes sparkled with admiration.
"Mm, Milord, you really can do everything, huh?" Harriet put on her best smile, burying her jealousy and envy deep. She cursed herself for being ridiculous and unreasonable with her feelings.
Liam put her to bed.
In Liam's arms, she felt safe and comfortable, and this was enough.
Because in the present, Liam loved her.
***
Cecilia Morganite believed she was no ordinary woman. She knew she was special, she knew she was beautiful and charming. And most of all, she knew she was talented.
Magic? Alchemy? Aura? Holy Power? Check.
Political Current? Fashion? Food trends? Economy? Check.
Luck? Secret knowledge from the past? Future predictions? Check.
She knew she could master it all, and she believed it. Because she was a cheat. She was a transmigrator, reincarnator, and rebirth Main Character.
Misunderstood Villainess? Secret Main Character? Secret Saintess? Check.
She was the strongest character in this world.
Wherever she went, whatever path she chose, and even if she chose everything and went anywhere, she would be successful. Collecting money? Easy. Gathering power? Easy. Gathering quality men? Well, here was the challenge.
Cecilia had been born into this world twice many years ago. She had also been born in another world and read the stories of this world in a novel. Moreover, she had also died and been reborn as the same person in this world. Hey, wasn't she already on par with a god?
Or maybe at least, she was a god's favourite soul, right?
So she deserved to have all the most handsome and strongest men in this world, right?
The answer was, of course.
That was what Cecilia knew and believed. Because Cecilia had made it this far, this second.
She had the Euclase Continent's strongest Knight and Euclase Continent's Crown Prince in her grasp. She had managed to become the richest woman in the capital with her food and fashion trend business. She had also garnered political support from many well-known people of this Continent.
This was because she knew the past and the future. She had experienced it all.
Of course, she hadn't taken the next step, which was certain to work.
Oh, if she succeeded, she could get not only Ezekiel, the first Male Lead of this Novel world, but also the Second, Third Male Lead, and even the Villain of this novel world.
But…
There was only one thing standing in her way.
Harriet Goldlane.
Why was the woman who wasn't even the main character in the original story bothering her this much? After all, Cecilia had easily killed the female lead fifteen years ago, so why couldn't she kill Harriet Goldlane, a side character who didn't even get enough screentime in the original story?
Tch.
Cecilia prepared her small furnace, which she usually used for her Alchemy work. She mixed two potions and one magic spell into it, then strengthened her body with Aura and Holy Power to send this simple trick to someone, her final target.
The strongest villain in this novel. Liam Almandine.
"I know everything about you. I know where your pain is coming from, so I can give you true happiness, Liam. Not Harriet Goldlane."
Liam…
Liam, oh Liam–
"I know everything. I understand, and I believe in you. I can be the most perfect in your eyes because I am Cecilia Morganite. I am the main character in your life, Liam!"
Faint red smoke billowed out of the small furnace, flew into the sky and disappeared into the night sky. From Cecilia's hotel room to him at the top room of the tower, she reached him with the faint red smoke.
Liam opened his eyes from his deep sleep. In front of him, he saw Harriet's hair bun. He was hugging her body tightly from behind, on the bed. Their bodies were warm, covered in a soft blanket of animal fur.
Harriet's breathing was steady and slow, indicating that his wife was fast asleep.
Liam heard soft whispers in the air.
"Agh–" Liam clutched his head.
Pain!
He wanted to stop that voice echoing in his head–
But why did his hand go straight to Harriet's neck? Why–how could he want to strangle and break the neck of the woman he loved the most?
"Stop…" Liam clenched his fists tightly and pulled himself away from Harriet. He staggered out of bed, groaning in pain, and his head felt like it was splitting in two.
Liam's hand tried to find a hold against the side table, and it bumped the vase of tulips he bought for his wife a few days ago.
PRANG!
Harriet jolted awake.
When she looked back, where she had put her flower vase, she saw Liam kneeling on the floor clutching his head, groaning in pain with anger and fear.
"AAA–AARGH–GRRRH!"
"Milord?!" Harriet quickly crawled out of bed and walked over to Liam. She knelt in front of the man and accidentally injured her own leg and knee from the broken vase. "Milord! What is wrong? Oh, God– what happened to you?!"
A panicked and shocked Harriet tried to see her husband's face. Harriet noticed Liam's hands covering his ears and gripping his golden hair were bleeding, and dripping onto the floor. She also saw Liam's two golden eyes shining brightly, with tears of blood flowing profusely.
"Oh my God…" Harriet trembled, her face staring in horror at the horrific scene and the most terrifying nightmare before her. The man she loved–
Harriet jumped to her feet and tugged at the bell strings like crazy. That way, those below would know that they need a physician and immediate help. After all, in the tower, there was now a pregnant woman and a dying man.
Trembling and shocked, Harriet knelt back down in front of Liam, carrying a handkerchief, ignoring her feet, which were scratched and bleeding from the broken flower vase.
Harriet tried to see what was causing Liam's pain, she tried to wipe the blood from his eyes and ears. Meanwhile, Liam was still groaning in pain on the floor, and he didn't respond to Harriet at all. "Milord, please–"
"Don't come close–Harriet–I can–… go away–I can hurt you–"
Liam's voice faltered between his roars. Harriet seemed to be getting more and more unsteady and in desperation, she screamed for help.
"Help! Anyone, please! Physician! We need a physician!"
"Daniel!"
Harriet's hoarse and sore voice made the group of physicians and servants who had already climbed half the stairs speed up their run.
"AAAAAARGH!"
Liam's incredibly loud roar rattled every glass in the room.
"Go away! Run! Run away from me, Harri–RRAAAAH–!"
"No!" Harriet covered her ringing ears. "Help!"
Daniel appeared with a frightened face. In front of him, Liam, who was on the verge of rage, was being hugged tightly by Harriet whose face was filled with tears.
Liam's hands gripped the floor until the stone floor cracked and crumbled as if Liam didn't want to let his body get out of control. Daniel pulled the Lycan servant next to him and glared at him, silently ordering him to turn into a wolf and restrain Liam before it was too late.
Before their new Luna died at the hands of Liam.
