CHAPTER 91 - EZEKIEL’S DESIRESLAP!
Ezekiel fell silent after he received a hard slap on the cheek, one so hard that his mask fell off. Harriet pushed him away and glared at him as if she were looking at a lowly man. She then walked away with quick and firm steps.
No, no.
This did not make Ezekiel angry. The man smiled with interest instead. Harriet's exploding rage made him… even more aroused by the woman.
The woman who never showed the slightest bit of true emotion took off her perfect mask completely.
Ezekiel was thirsty. What would the woman's angry expression look like if he forced her and touched her without her permission? On the bed, naked, the Harriet with nothing to hide. The real Harriet he wanted who could do nothing to hide.
Ezekiel's grin didn't fade, even after he put his mask back on.
He would get Harriet no matter what. He didn't care if he had to destroy Harriet's reputation and got her divorced from Liam Almandine. He was even willing to share Harriet with two other men, the man named 'Theo' or the old man named Liam Almandine. And with that, wouldn't he also be able to seamlessly become Emperor with Harriet Goldlane in his hands?
Meanwhile, Harriet groaned in disgust in her carriage. She got goosebumps all over her body and felt really unlucky to run into Ezekiel. She didn't think the man had grown to be this disgusting.
Her hands clenched in anger, so offended and disappointed at the son of the Emperor, the man who would become the future Emperor.
She shook her head quickly. Her eyes refocused and she decided to go to the palace to see the Emperor. She couldn't accept this treatment anymore.
And above all, she couldn't let such a man ascend the throne!
***
Liam blew out the candles in his room.
Since noon, he had been waiting for his wife to come home alone in his room. He felt bored, but he realized he had to recover his body condition so that he could do many things with his wife tomorrow and in the days that followed.
Before turning off the candle, he was reading his own medical journal and compared it to the previous ones. He realized that he really had to bring in a medical expert from the east to check his condition. What the Old Duke did to try to find a healer from the East was the right move.
But with that, he had to wait. He would have to last at least another two or three months before he got any treatment. That was if they could bring in a healer that fast.
While sitting in his wheelchair by the balcony window, he heard a knock on his bedroom door.
"Come in," Liam was surprised by his own hoarse voice. He had not spoken much these days, and after coughing up blood, his throat felt dry even though he had drunk a lot of water.
When Liam heard the door open, he immediately recognized the smell of someone entering the room. What the hell?
"Stop," he ordered in a low, deep hoarse voice.
The person immediately stopped behind the screen in front of the door. Liam's position facing the balcony and his back to the screen allowed the person to see his figure in the form of a silhouette of a man sitting in a wheelchair. The man cleared his throat.
Liam recognized him as the man who suddenly approached him, the crown prince of the empire, who offered to work together to get Harriet to divorce him.
"Young Lord Liam Almandine, sorry to interrupt your time," said the young man, Ezekiel Euclase.
"What do you want this time?" Liam asked in his still hoarse voice, and as soon as he spoke a little more he started coughing. It was also because of the smoke from the candle he had just extinguished.
On the other hand, Ezekiel, who saw the silhouette of a man sitting in a wheelchair and coughing behind a screen in the dark room, believed he was dealing with the old man, Liam Almandine. The man who was rumoured to be going to die soon and wasn't the man he met in the North at that time.
He didn't know he mistook him for Harriet's lover, because even his voice was different, due to how hoarse Liam's voice was right now.
But there was something strange.
He felt a familiar feeling that somehow made his legs tremble.
Ezekiel recalled the figure of Liam Almandine in his Lycan form, a giant wolf with white fur and shining with a faint golden light. As soon as he remembered, Ezekiel immediately got goosebumps.
This frail and dying old man was also the terrible monster he had seen that night. Ezekiel was displeased with this fear, but it couldn't be helped.
"Let me introduce myself. My name is Ezekiel Euclase, the only son of Axias Euclase–"
COUGH! COUGH–
Ezekiel's introduction was interrupted by Liam's coughs. At the same time, Liam was so annoyed that he had to meet the most annoying man for him in this condition, and he really wanted to kick Ezekiel away.
Ezekiel felt awkward and a little worried. If this man died while he was here, wouldn't he be accused of killing him? The coughs were too much too...
"Young Lord… are you all right?" Ezekiel was about to walk past the screen, but Liam quickly raised his hand, holding him in his place.
"Just tell me what brought you here," Liam said coldly.
Ezekiel furrowed his brows and narrowed his eyes in annoyance.
Old, dying, and have bad manners too. Harriet must have hated this man so much, considering how terrible this dying beast must be.
A rational woman like Harriet would want to quickly get rid of this monster and send him to the afterlife to quickly gain her title and power.
"You probably haven't heard the rumors about Madam Goldlane's affair," Ezekiel brought up the topic.
And suddenly, Liam furrowed his brows.
"What if I say that the rumors are not mere rumors, but facts?" asked Ezekiel then.
Liam immediately understood everything. Ezekiel was the one who spread the rumors, and his goal was to separate him from Harriet, by creating a misunderstanding between them. As soon as he heard that Ezekiel wanted him to divorce Harriet, he knew right away that this man didn't deserve to enter Harriet's field of vision.
"If you don't believe me, I can show you the evidence and tell you everything I saw that day when Madam Goldlane met her lover in the North."
Liam turned his head and saw the figure behind the thin screen pulling something out of his pocket and placing it on the table next to the wall that was visible from where he was sitting. Liam's keen eyesight saw the missing piece of his father's cane on the table a little away from him, and he understood everything. At the same time, all the lost memories sank into his head, completing the missing and still hazy puzzle.
"That man is a man with long blonde hair named 'Theo'. He is a man your wife truly loves," said Ezekiel.
And that was when Liam couldn't help but laugh.
"Pffft–HAHAHAHAH!"
