CHAPTER 75 - LIAM’S RAMPAGEGRAARRHRAWR!

RRRAAHRRR!

Two wolves jumped behind Liam, grabbed him by the shoulders and separated him from Harriet. Two more wolves jumped in front of Harriet and protected her from Liam, while another appeared and helped the first two wolves pull Liam away.

"No, no!" Harriet reached toward Liam. Why did they separate him from her? Harriet didn't notice Liam nearly rampaged out of control in her arms and screamed hysterically at the Lycans who separated them.

"He's in pain! Don't hurt him! Don't hurt my husband! Please! Please…” Harriet screamed, pleading desperately. “He needs a physician! Daniel! Daniel, Young Lord needs a physician–”

Harriet looked expectantly at a red-furred wolf that was slightly bigger than the others. "He's in pain, for God's sake, help him–why did you guys hurt him?"

Harriet lost her breath in her panic. She used all the air in her lungs to scream non-stop.

While the three wolves pinned Liam's hands and feet on the floor, they realized Liam wasn't fighting back at all. The man complied as he was dragged away from Harriet, but he was still groaning with both eyes and ears bleeding.

Liam did his best to stop his own berserk, and he succeeded. But instead, he felt excruciating pain all over his head and body.

The physicians who had been staying away then came running over.

“What happened to my husband? Why did he suddenly–” Harriet sobbed quietly. The maids came closer and hugged Harriet tightly until Harriet gripped their sleeves. "Leave me, help Young Lord, help the physicians, go!"

Harriet pleaded with the maids and removed their arms from her body. She encouraged them to be on standby in case the physicians needed help.

Harriet slowly suppressed her own sobs. Her body was shaking violently, and she forced her body to retreat, making way for the physicians and servants to work.

Blood dripped profusely from the deep cuts on her legs. Even some small vase shards were still stuck to her skin. But could she care about that now?

Harriet stood still with a thin sob on the edge of the room, and not for a second did her eyes leave the figure of Liam groaning in pain on the floor. The physicians gave him suppressants, painkillers, and extraordinarily strong sleeping medicines.

The wolves were still trying to restrain him, but the three wolves had retreated and were at the rear. Before long, the Old Duke, Heath, and Miriam appeared.

The first thing the three saw was Harriet standing alone, shaking and bleeding on the edge of the room. Heath ran to Harriet's side and hugged her tightly.

"What happened?!" he asked, unintentionally shouting loudly.

The Old Duke looked straight at Harriet, who looked dishevelled. Her beautiful face was as pale as a sheet and wet with tears. He then saw his grandson being restrained by two wolves on his shoulders.

"Impossible. Liam couldn't possibly get into berserk. His control is even stronger than mine,” muttered the Old Duke, subconsciously shaking his head in disbelief with a look of horror.

Everyone assumed when they saw this incident that it must be a monster going out of control. But the Old Duke knew it was impossible because he knew Liam very well.

"No, Your Grace, no. Young Lord didn't get out of control, he recognized me, he called my name–” Harriet whispered between her thin, suppressed sobs.

"Then what happened?" Heath asked cluelessly.

Miriam gently and tightly hugged Harriet and pulled her into a chair. She furrowed her brows at the sight of Harriet's bloody legs. The sole of her feet, her shins and knees were splattered with shards of glass, as if she was kneeling without caring about what was on the floor.

Heath immediately ordered one of the maids to help Harriet clean her wound. His pregnant sister looked shocked and very shaken. He was afraid this could affect her health.

Meanwhile, Old Duke replaced two wolves to restrain Liam's body. The old man furrowed his brows and turned to the wolves. "He didn't fight back at all?"

Uuuu…

Awooo…

The wolves let out a small voice in a low tone, and the Old Duke understood. It was not because Liam was on a rampage.

This was caused by something far more terrifying.

"Sorcery."

Harriet gasped. Her eyes were wide open and her irises seemed to falter.

Sorcery, a combination of Magic and Alchemy, Mana manipulation techniques and arts commonly used by necromancers.

However, hadn't the art of Sorcery been banned and all evidence and knowledge of it completely destroyed decades ago?

In fact, all the Sorcerers had been killed and punished by cutting off their tongues and hands in order to not be able to teach the arts of Sorcery to anyone for the rest of their lives!

The Old Duke's jaw tightened, and angry veins appeared on his cheeks and temples.

“Sorcery again, huh?” he asked angrily.

The Old Duke walked to the side of the room and smashed the floor into pieces with his punch. He picked up a red stone the size of a fist that was cracked and was no longer clear in the crack in the floor, but the stone even looked dull and foggy.

He was surprised. It was Anti Sorcery stone that he had installed in every room and hall in this castle since the incident decades ago. He saw the enchanted stone that was supposed to last thousands of years was broken.

Was the Sorcery much stronger this time than it was decades ago?

"What is it, Your Grace?" asked Harriet of the silent Old Duke holding a dull red stone in his hand.

Old Duke shook his head.

“Take the Anti Sorcery stones in the storage room, Daniel. Take them all,” the Old Duke ordered.

He couldn't believe the castle he had built as a fortress against the sorcerer's attack couldn't withstand the attacks of an unknown sorcerer that had reappeared after decades of sorcery disappearance.

Before long, Daniel and another wolf were dragging a large chest with their mouths up the stairs. As Daniel dragged the chest close to Liam's body, the man's groaning of pain stopped.

"Hah-!" Liam heaved a sharp sigh of relief. His brightly shining eyes began to dim, and his stiffened body began to relax. The man fell unconscious.

Seeing that, Harriet's body which had been tense all this time, also started to relax. Harriet forced herself to her feet and walked over to Liam. The physicians and servants had moved away long ago knowing there was nothing they could do.

As Harriet moved closer to gently lift Liam's body, they also came closer to help Harriet carry Liam back to bed. Liam was fast asleep. And Harriet knelt on the side of the bed, holding Liam's hand tightly to her face. Her sobs slowly broke.

Painful. Suffocating.

Everyone was speechless witnessing that.

And a white dove flew away from the tower window.
