CHAPTER 63 - HARRIET’S PLANJulian felt even dizzier after receiving the sound wave attack earlier. His vision became blurry, but he still wanted to kill one of these two Alphas, if he couldn't take Crown Prince Ezekiel with him to the afterlife.
So he started chanting [Inferna] once again.
A huge fire tornado formed from a giant magic circle, then slowly compressed into a fireball the size of a human head in Julian's left hand. With this, the mana in his body had been completely depleted, with no residue left.
Ordinary Lycans quickly lowered their heads and pushed the bodies of the humans onto their backs. They prepared to dodge the attack again just in case it headed their way. At the same time, Old Duke and Heath also prepared to dodge.
“HAAAAAAAAAA!”
WHOOSH!
A ball of hot fire shot towards Heath and Old Duke. The two quickly maneuvred to dodge.
But suddenly, the Old Duke noticed something strange about Julian. The young prince was seen grinning sinisterly. The giant fireball turned around, following the maneuvres of the two giant wolves, forcing them to turn and run back toward Julian.
And while the two of them were busy making sure no one was hurt from the attack, a light slowly appeared in Julian's chest–
“He's about to blow himself up…” Heinrich muttered desperately, realizing that his younger brother wanted to take the two Alphas with him to death.
BZZT–
A flash of golden light shot through the air and grabbed Julian.
GRRRRAAAAAAAAAWR!
A white wolf pounced at Julian's shoulder mercilessly with its sharp canines.
"AAAH!" as his self-destruct spell was interrupted, Julian realized his body was starting to heat up. The wolf that pounced on him with incredible speed forced him to stop any spells he used.
The Old Duke and Heath managed to direct the fireball [Inverna] to explode onto the side of the uninhabited hill, and when they returned to the battlefield, everyone looked in astonishment at the third giant wolf that had appeared in the middle of the battle.
It was a giant wolf with white fur and golden eyes shining brightly. The tips of his white fur were golden, making his glowing figure look like it was enveloped in the flames of the dawn sun.
Hot. Julian's whole body felt hot. But not because of the spell he cast.
“What the–” Ezekiel was speechless.
Meanwhile Heinrich…
The Hyacinth Crown Prince was rooted to the spot.
His whole body trembled and was shocked to see the figure of the white wolf.
“Liam… Almandine…” whispered Heinrich, who lost his breath, and then fell unconscious.

"I don't want anyone to die anymore."
Harriet remembered Miriam's words that day and was determined to do her best to prevent another unnecessary death.
She stood in the top tower room of Almandine Castle, watching the heated battlefield in the distance through the window.
They had to make Julian Hyacinth pay for his arbitrarily hunting Lycan like a game, but they had to keep him alive to respect Miriam's wish. How would they satisfy both conditions?
No. How to let the Lycan get their revenge without killing Julian?
For Harriet, the answer was obvious. She could give a choice not to kill Julian and at the same time punish him. Oh, and also how to humiliate the entire Hyacinth family, the Royal Family who trampled on the Lycan's honour, while teaching them a lesson.
That was–by turning Julian into a Lycan.
Right.
The reason why Julian felt hot all over was that Liam had turned him into a Lycan.
“AAAAAAAAARGH!” excruciating pain spread from his shoulder to the rest of his body. The process of transforming an ordinary human into a Lycan was a very painful process. And now, Julian, the man who had killed countless Lycans before, was witnessing himself turning into the monster.
“GRRRRRRR–” slowly and surely, Julian transformed into a black-furred Lycan, with his right front leg missing.
Everyone watching, especially the humans, shuddered in horror. The fate of the Mage Prince Julian ended up being a creature he despised.
After the transformation was complete, slowly, Julian's body returned to its human form, unconscious. When everything was over, everyone realized the golden white wolf's figure had disappeared somewhere, leaving Julian's body lying with a severe fever on the ground.
Old Duke and Heath looked at each other, and inwardly they were grinning.
Harriet's plan had been executed perfectly.
***
Liam Almandine.
The name was whispered by Heinrich just before the man passed out, and Ezekiel was one of the people who heard it.
The man, or in this case, the wolf, was Harriet Goldlane's mysterious husband.
But didn't they say the man could only wake up during the full moon?
Riding the Lycans back to the castle, no one dared to speak or ask anything. And even if they asked, no one would be able to answer it because these wolves communicated with growls and howls, not human language.
Ezekiel got off awkwardly from the back of the Lycan, who ushered him in front of the main door of the castle. Two giant wolves simply entered the castle without looking back, and Ezekiel finally understood why every door and passage in the castle was so tall and wide–that was to accommodate the Lycans who had turned into their wolf forms.
Ezekiel honestly felt useless. He did nothing, but still came home injured. Now he understood why these monsters were called monsters.
They were very strong, far more powerful than what he had imagined. And that bastard Julian who fought them was insane too.
Heinrich and Julian were taken to see the physicians. In contrast to Julian who immediately received treatment from the physician who specializes in Lycans, Heinrich only needed to be sent back to his room after they confirmed that his shoulder had only dislocated and he had passed out from shock.
But Ezekiel really felt what he saw today was too overkill. Just because of one mage, Almandine and Amaryllis shouldn't have mobilized all these troops.
Moreover, the movements of all the Lycans and their timing of chasing the fleeing Julian were also as if they already knew that Julian would escape. They were also trying to catch him again, making sure no one was hurt.
This was similar to the tactics of someone he knew.
