Alisha's POV
After DM Entertainment liked my tweet, the comments from netizens instantly changed.
"Wow, the company personally liked Theresa's tweet. Who is feeling embarrassed now?"
"Hahaha, so interesting! Someone just claimed to have the company's recognition and it turned out that was nonsense the next moment!"
"DM, well done!"
"Erma should apologize to Theresa!"
Seeing the supportive comments towards me and the mockery directed at Erma, I felt a sense of relief. Nova excitedly chimed in, "That's great! Erma cannot so arrogant like before! She had the audacity to claim she was more deserving of the company's favor. She's shameless! And now she has been proven bragging! Karma's a bitch!"
Curious, I asked Nova, "Did you contact DP Entertainment to ask for his help?"
Nova shook her head, saying, "No, I only know their music director, the person I introduced you to last time. I think it's because of what happened last time; he feels guilty towards you and decided to help us. After all, he had agreed to sign you and have you sing your new song, but then he went back on his word."
"That's not his fault. It was Archie who offered a high price to buy the rights to the song and give it to Erma."
"What? How could your husband do such a shit thing? Even though he doesn't know you're Theresa, he's going too far by favoring Erma so much, spending a fortune on her. He's so rich but so mean and demanding towards you. He's a jerk, just like that bitch Erma. They make the perfect pair of adulterers!"
"You are right! He has a child with Erma, but he refused to accept my rejection! If he could let me go, it would have been better for us. After all, Erma was practically going insane for being the Luna."
"Maybe he's afraid of his grandmother? But from a human perspective, if both parties no longer have feelings for each other but still refuse to break up, it's probably because of asset division issues."
"That could be both possible. Since Archie and I don't have a mate bond, I can never guess what he's truly thinking. But it's true that Archie's grandmother never liked Erma, so she was the one who broke them up against Archie's wishes. But what you said also makes sense because Archie doesn't want to let me have a share of his assets. He says I'm not entitled to it."
"He truly is a freak!"
"Anyway, let's take it step by step. Whatever, I should thank DM Entertainment today." Just as I finished speaking with Nova, I quickly messaged the music director to thank him for his help.
However, the response I received surprised me. He said, "This time it had nothing to do with me, but personally, I really hope to have the opportunity to collaborate with you and make up for past regrets."
Thinking about the several songs I created but still hadn't sold, I nodded slightly. At least, DM Entertainment was a generous purchaser.
Joey asks me for money every month, claiming it's for my grandmother's medical treatment. Now that Archie has frozen my account, I need to find other ways to gather the funds this month; otherwise, according to Joey's character, he would definitely stop the treatment for grandma.
But considering Erma, I hesitated and didn't immediately accept the music director's invitation. Since DM's boss had sold my song to Archie last time, I'm worried he might do it again in the future. That would be too disgusting!
The music director seemed to sense my reluctance through the silence. He sympathetically spoke, "If you don't want to work with our company, I can recommend another music studio to you. My friend works there too. They are currently looking for talented new singers. I believe you would definitely have a chance to pass their audition!"
Hearing this, I expressed my gratitude, overwhelmed. "That's fantastic! Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity."
"You're welcome. I'll send you the contact information. Their audition is in two days. Prepare yourself well."
After hanging up the phone, I joyfully embraced Nova, and then we jumped up in excitement. Though I couldn't rent out that cursed ring for money today, I had gained a job opportunity!
"Let's make up for the fancy dinner I owe you today! We can go wherever you want! It's up to you!"
"Great! It's definitely worth celebrating!"
"Cheers! "
The lively clinking of glasses echoed through the air as the dimly lit bar reverberated with laughter and merriment. Nova took me to this newly opened establishment to celebrate my precious job interview opportunity. The bar's ambiance felt electric, charged with anticipation and dreams.
As the night progressed, Nova, ordered a special drink for me. Little did I know that concealed within its seemingly innocent appearance was a component known to induce hallucinations for the werewolves, but neither of us knew it. Although I had no wolf, I had inherited the werewolf bloodline, making me susceptible to its effects. The night had taken an ominous turn, shrouded in the lingering effects of the drink that had induced hallucinations within me.
After drinking it, a tingling sensation crept up my spine, sending shivers down my body. As I struggled to regain my senses, a sense of vulnerability washed over me, leaving me exposed to the dangers lurking in the shadows.
Something was awry, and I sensed it instinctively. Alarmed, I discreetly informed Nova about my concerns, and she grew visibly worried.
"Are you OK?"
"I … I am afraid not... "
"Oh my gosh, what should I do? Take you to the hospital? But I don't think the human doctor could know how to cure you… Will Google know the answer?"
I took great pains to grab my phone and unlocked it. "Call … call…" I wanted to tell Nova to call Joey and sent me back to the Black Furies, and then the witch doctor would treat me, but I couldn't finished it with great headache.
Luckily, Nova seemed to understand me and took my phone over, searching for something and then dialed the number.
Amidst the haze, a strange figure emerged from the depths of the bar, his eyes gleaming with malicious intent. He approached me with brazen audacity, invading my personal space, and demanding my attention. Fear gripped my heart as I realized the gravity of the situation—this man intended to force me into an unwanted relationship.
Nova, recognized the imminent threat and mustered the courage to intervene. With determination etched on her face, she stood between the rogue and me, pleading for him to back away. But his twisted desires fueled a stubborn defiance, rendering Nova's words futile against his overpowering strength.
That man flung Nova to the floor and grabbed my arms to force me leave with him. I shook my head heavily to try to keep awake and get rid of that man, but the room began to sway, its colors blending and distorting. Reality became a hazy mirage as my senses blurred. My body felt lighter, while my head weighed heavily with confusion.
Suddenly, as I struggled to maintain composure, my gaze fixed upon a familiar face in the crowd. It was Archie, the man who had been entangled in my life's complicated web.
