Louie's POV
Under the guidance of the warriors from Blood Dawn, we arrived in a room adorned with warm golden lights. It seemed like a medical area, well-equipped to tend to injuries. A sense of relief washed over me as I knew Alisha would receive proper care here.
As the door closed behind us, I gently placed Theresa on the bed, her breathing still labored from the pain of her wounds. The leader spoke with authority, introducing a she-wolf to us, "It seems that your companion's wounds need treatment. If you don't mind, Lola can help you. She is very attentive and knowledgeable in medical matters, a very reliable warrior."
Lola's presence reassured me, knowing that Theresa would be in good hands.
"In addition, I have already informed our Alpha. Before he arrives, you must stay here," the leader continued.
I nodded gratefully, acknowledging the leader's suggestion, "Thank you very much. We appreciate your help, and we won't leave. Theresa's safety is my priority."
Lola approached the bed, her keen eyes assessing Theresa's condition with a sense of professionalism. She then retrieved a medical kit from a nearby cabinet. She then said to us, "I'll be treating her wounds now. You can go outside."
As the other werewolves left the room, I hesitated, still worried about leaving Theresa with a stranger. I expressed my intention to stay close, assuring Lola, "I'd like to remain nearby if it's alright. I promise not to disturb your treatment."
Lola looked up at me, her eyes holding a hint of understanding. She nodded in agreement and took a seat by the bedside. "Suit yourself. Just make sure not to get in the way," she replied calmly, resuming her focus on Theresa.
I breathed a sigh of relief with Lora's agree. However, Lola's casual words caught me off guard, "Your mate cares about you," she said gently to Theresa.
Theresa blushed immediately, her cheeks turning a deep shade of crimson, and she began to cough from the sudden embarrassment. I stumbled over my words, attempting to correct the misunderstanding, "N-No, I'm not... we're not... I mean..."
But Lola's response surprised me, "Oh, my apologies. I thought you two were a couple. My mistake. But I need to treat her wounds, and that involves removing her upper garment. If you're not her mate..." Lola looked hesitated.
In an attempt to escape the awkwardness, I stammered, "I'll just step outside then." I turned to Theresa, avoiding eye contact with her, "I'll be right outside the door. If you need anything, just call me."
As I closed the door behind me, I couldn't help but feel my cheeks still burning with embarrassment. My mind was a jumble of thoughts. Before I turned, I thought I caught a faint pink hue on her hand, but amidst my flustered state, I couldn't be certain.
"He seems like an extraordinary man, don't miss this opportunity." Hearing Lola's whispered conversation with Theresa only fueled my unease, and I quickly shut the door, not wanting to overhear any more.
Outside the room, I paced back and forth, feeling an overwhelming mix of emotions. I took out my phone, intending to distract myself by browsing through it.
Just then, I remembered my unanswered messages to Archie. Since I had encountered Theresa now, maybe it was a good opportunity to arrange a meeting with Archie and his wife.
I continued sending messages to Archie, hoping he would respond soon. "Hey, where are you now? I just ran into Theresa, the girl who has captured my heart. Are you with Alisha? Perhaps we can all meet up."
"However, we are facing a bit of difficulty right now. We are in the treatment room on the first floor. If you don't mind, you can come directly here to find me."
As the seconds ticked by, there was still no reply from Archie. I couldn't help but feel annoyed by his habit of not responding to messages. Unfortunately, we were not in the same pack, so I couldn't contact him through a mindlink.
As I kept an eye on the treatment room's door, I continued bombarding Archie with more messages. "By the way, Theresa's singing is incredible, a thousand times better than Erma's. She even wrote a song specifically for me. Aren't you jealous? Haha."
However, amidst my excitement about Theresa, I suddenly remembered that I had previously helped Archie steal Theresa's song. Panic washed over me again, and I quickly sent a message to my assistant, "Regardless, you must get Theresa to agree to sign with our company, offer her the highest salary, the most lenient contract, and don't restrict her in any way. Fulfill all her demands!"
Just after sending that message, I heard hurried and heavy footsteps coming from the hallway. It seemed like someone was rushing over. I turned my head and was surprised to see Archie, followed by Brad and the Blood Dawn members, storming toward the treatment room.
Archie looked extremely anxious, his gaze ice-cold, and an aura of dread surrounded him. I stood up straight, wondering why Alisha wasn't with him. Could something have happened to her? I remembered Brad mentioning that Alisha had gone missing, and I felt a sense of foreboding.
Archie, with his menacing presence, charged towards the treatment room. I furrowed my eyebrows and stepped forward, blocking his path. "Archie, stop! The doctor is inside treating someone. You can't disturb them."
Archie seemed surprised to be stopped by someone, and he looked at me, trying to collect his thoughts, "Louie?"
I was relieved that he still recognized me and was not entirely lost in his emotions. I was about to say something, but Archie glared at me with cold eyes and said, "Get out of the way!"
"Absolutely not! Theresa is inside, and I won't let you bother her!" I held onto Archie's arm, standing as a barrier between him and the room.
Upon hearing my words, Archie looked somewhat bewildered. "Theresa?"
I nodded, "Yeah, the one I mentioned before. She's the girl I really like. She's my chosen mate."
Brad had caught up by now, and upon hearing my words, he exclaimed, "But we just received the news from the Blood Dawn that a female werewolf from our pack, who was attacked by rogues in the Dark Forest, has been brought to the treatment room. She might be..."
Before Brad could finish speaking, Archie leaped forward, taking advantage of the moment when I was distracted by Brad's words. He forcefully pushed me aside and kicked open the door of the treatment room.
