Alisha's POV
Desperation gripped me as I tried to run as fast as I could to escape the danger lurking behind me. But with every gasping breath, I knew it was futile. The foul stench from the wolf's mouth invaded my senses, a chilling reminder that I was already within its hunting range. As its sharp claws pierced my back, a surge of agony surged through my body, and I realized that there was no way I could escape this ruthless predator.
Just when I thought all hope was lost, a sudden howl pierced through the darkness. A figure as swift as a sword flew past me, soaring through the air and clamping down on the wolf that had attacked me. The two ferocious beings tumbled on the ground, raising a cloud of dust in their wake.
As I struggled to recover from the impact, I saw the newcomer, a majestic wolf with a dense coat of pure white fur. Its coat shimmered like liquid moonlight, and its eyes held an intensity that sent chills down my spine. It stood before me, fiercely guarding against any further threats, and I knew, in that moment, that it was there to protect me.
Though I had never seen this white wolf before, there was a sense of familiarity in its presence. It exuded an aura of strength and nobility, like a guardian from a forgotten legend.
The rogue wolf refused to back down, getting up on its feet and locking its malevolent eyes on both of us. The atmosphere grew even more tense as both wolves' primal instincts took over, preparing them for a fierce battle. The air crackled with electricity as their growls reverberated through the darkness, setting the stage for an intense showdown.
Muscles rippled beneath the white werewolf's sleek fur, and its keen senses were attuned to every slight movement of its opponent. With a guttural roar, they lunged forward, teeth bared and claws extended, their silhouettes weaving a dance of aggression and prowess. The clash of fangs echoed through the night as they circled one another, each trying to exploit the other's weaknesses.
Every movement was precise and calculated, a deadly dance between predator and protector. The white wolf displayed an exceptional skill, seemingly anticipating the wild wolf's every move.
The night air filled with tension and the scent of earth, a heady mix of blood and fur that left me dizzy with fear and awe. I focused my attention to use my Gift to cure the cut on my back, otherwise, I might faint soon because of lack of blood.
Finally, with one swift and decisive move, the white wolf delivered a powerful blow, biting the rogue wolf's back and threw it at a tree hardly. The rogue wolf breathed its last breath. The white wolf had won the battle, proving its might and safeguarding my life.
As the tension dissipated, the white wolf walked over and turned its piercing eyes towards me, and I found myself entranced by its gaze. Its clear and gentle eyes reminded me of someone.
"Louie?" I asked hesitantly.
The white wolf nodded slightly and lowered its head. There was an unspoken understanding between us. It had come to my aid, protecting me from certain peril, and I felt a surge of gratitude wash over me.
As the moon cast its silvery glow over the forest, I was taken aback by the white wolf's answer. Before I could even ask Louie why he had come, my instincts screamed a warning. In the forest behind him, several pairs of gleaming green eyes materialized, and my heart sank. We were being hunted by rogue wolves, and they were preparing to attack us together.
Louie, too, seemed to sense the impending danger. With a swift turn, he faced the ominous figures in the darkness, releasing a fierce roar to intimidate them. But those rogue wolves were not easily deterred, their hunger for blood and violence evident in their relentless advance.
As my eyes darted anxiously between Louie and the approaching rogues, something strange caught my attention next to Archie. From the shadows of trees, a black wolf emerged suddenly. Its entire form was as dark as night, like a living shadow that seemed to dim the moonlight around it. The shadow wolf moved with eerie silence, taking advantage of Louie's distraction to launch a surprise attack, its mouth aimed straight for his vulnerable neck.
Fear clenched my heart as I found that shadow wolf. Without hesitation, I grabbed a handful of sand and hurled it at the shadow wolf's eyes, shouting, "Watch out, Louie!" The sudden intervention and sand disrupted the shadow wolf's aim, causing it to miss its intended target and stumble momentarily.
But there was no time for respite, as the rogue wolves were closing in, their snarls and howls filling the air with menace. My heart pounded in my chest as the shadow wolf, now agitated and weeping with the sand, redirected its deadly focus toward me. Its jaws were wide open, seeking revenge for my interference, and I knew I was in imminent danger.
I glanced at Louie, realizing that he couldn't handle the relentless onslaught of rogue wolves while also ensuring my safety. The truth was clear – I would only become a burden to him in this dire situation. Determination surged within me as I shouted urgently, "Louie, don't worry about me, run! Go find others to help!"
My heart ached at the thought of sacrificing myself, but I couldn't bear to see Louie risk his life for me. He was strong and capable, and he had to survive. I knew that by the time reinforcements arrived, I might already be lost to the claws of these savage creatures, but I couldn't allow Louie to risk his life l because of me.
But Louie didn't heed my desperate plea to run. Instead, it stood its ground, its amber eyes locking onto the approaching rogue wolves and the vengeful shadow wolf, which was mere inches away from me. There was an unwavering determination in Louie's gaze, and it seemed to be preparing for something extraordinary. Its silvery fur seemed to glow in the moonlight, radiating an otherworldly aura.
In a breathtaking display of power, Louie raised its head high, and from deep within its chest, a howl of unparalleled magnificence erupted. The sound reverberated through the night, piercing the darkness with a haunting resonance that sent shivers down my spine. It was as if the very essence of the moonlit had come alive in Louie's call.
Then, an astonishing phenomenon unfolded before my eyes. An ethereal mist, glimmering with a soft, silvery light, began to emanate from Louie's form. As the mist spread outward, it swirled and danced, forming intricate patterns in the air. Suddenly, a chilling frost crept along the ground, frosting the grass and leaves, and painting the landscape in a surreal wintry hue.
And then, in a breathtaking instant, the frost exploded outward from Louie's center, reaching out like icy tendrils. The rogue wolves were caught in its freezing grasp. The frost continued to extend, reaching the shadow wolf that had intended to tear me apart. Its eyes widened in terror as the ice crept up its legs, immobilizing it completely. The once fierce and fearsome creature was now a frozen sculpture, unable to move or strike.
In a moment, all rogue wolves' bodies rapidly encased in ice, they became trapped in a state of suspended animation, transformed into chilling sculptures that mirrored the haunting beauty of the moonlit night.
