Alisha's POV
As I read that tweet, a wave of disgust surged within me. Even though Erma had no idea that I was Theresa, her words still made me uncomfortable. It was a reminder that regardless of which identity I assumed, Erma remained my enemy.
In the next moment, Nova's call came through.
"Alisha, did you see Erma's tweet? How dare she have the audacity! That despicable woman!"
"Yes, I saw it."
"She claims the company ultimately chose her. Disgusting! She's lying! She's deliberately using Theresa to elevate herself!"
I let out a sigh. "Let it go. Since I've already sold the rights to the song, let them do as they please. I've had a tiring day, Nova."
"Alisha, well, I have some good news that might bring a smile to your face once you hear it!"
"What is it?" I asked curiously.
"Why don't you take a guess?" Nova replied, feigning mystery.
"Please spare me, sweetie. I really can't guess. You know how difficult things have been for me lately, all because of that jerk Archie. Today, I nearly..." My voice choked, overwhelmed by a surge of grievances.
"Alisha, don't be sad anymore. Do you remember your wedding ring? I just dropped it off at the jewelry store, and the owner informed me that someone is interested in renting it! so you'll have some money in your hands soon!"
"Really?" Hearing those words, I instantly stopped crying. Only heaven knew how worried I had been about my financial situation since Archie decided to cut off my credit cards. The proceeds from the previous rights sale were still going through the process and would take some time to receive. If there could be another source of income, I would be overjoyed!
"Absolutely. We can meet the interested party this afternoon. Since your worthless husband has made you suffer like this, let's use his belongings to make money! Consider it as mental damage compensation!"
Upon hearing Nova's reasoning, I found her words to be quite sensible. Afterward, I helped my grandmother freshen up briefly, changed her clothes and bed sheets, and quietly left the Black Furies to meet Nova at the jewelry store.
We waited in the VIP room for a while when an unexpected person appeared before us.
"What the hell, it's you!" Nova couldn't help but curse when she saw Erma.
Erma removed her sunglasses, disdainfully eyeing us before locking her gaze on me. She spoke mockingly, "It's definitely you! When I heard the news about this ring from the jewellery store manager, it looked familiar like the wedding ring Archie gave to you. So, Archie kicked you out of the Golden Crest, and now you're resorting to pawning things for a living? So poor~"
I had no intention of enduring Erma's provocations any longer. "This ring was a gift from Archie, and how I handle it is none of your business."
"Hum, you're not worthy of this ring at all. I am Archie's mate. If you hadn't meddled, I would have been the rightful owner of this ring two years ago! You have no wolf, no fighting skills, no ability to train members, and no connection with Archie. You're nothing but a waste, and you should have stepped down from the position of Luna!"
"Archie's grandmother chose me over you, indicating that I am better than you. No matter how jealous you may be, it doesn't change the fact that I AM the Luna now. And you must obey my rules!"
Erma's face turned pale immediately under my Luna's tone! Although she might strong than me, she couldn't help shivering. But she insisted on provoking me, "Well, I'm already carrying Archie's child, and he even never marked you. Otherwise, you wouldn't have been married for so long without a child. You're destined to be a loser. If you can give this ring to me today, I would thinking about sparing your life after I become the Luna."
Hearing this, Nova was so infuriated that she wanted to confront Erma physically, but I stopped her. After all, a human stood no chance against a werewolf.
As I listened to Erma's words, a sense of desolation surged from the depths of my heart. She was right about one thing: no matter how much I tried to hide it, I couldn't change the fact that Archie had never truly loved me. From the day we got married until now, he had never marked me. He didn't love me, so he had no desire to be bound to me. Yet, he was willing to have a child with Erma.
At that moment, my heart turned to cold, and I no longer wanted to continue this entanglement. So, I spoke up, "If you have a fondness for picking up trash, feel free to consider the leftovers of the man that I discarded. I don't care."
Having said that, I grabbed Nova's hand, preparing to leave. Erma's face instantly contorted in displeasure, and she shouted at me, "You're not going anywhere until you give me the ring."
I frowned at her with disgust. "You're delusional. If I knew it was you, I wouldn't have wasted my time coming here."
"No, I must have this ring. You're a thief! This ring was originally mine! Archie specially prepared it for me! The pink diamond is my favorite! But you stole it from me! Archie has sent me a song-Love Story, so I want to wear this ring for the music video! It's a gift I want to give to Archie!"
As expected, Archie was the sugar daddy behind Erma. Not only did he give my song to this wretched woman, but he also stole my debut opportunity.
Every time I thought I couldn't be hurt by Archie anymore, reality delivered a resounding slap. It turned out that even the ring was specifically prepared for Erma. I bit my tongue hard, forcing back the tears. I couldn't let Erma witness my vulnerability. As for the ring, since it was never meant to be mine, it was better to cash it in sooner.
"No matter what you say, this ring is mine. If you really want it, then bring money to buy it."
Erma's face lit up, "You have made up a correct decision. Tell the manager to fetch that ring for me immediately!"
"Are your ears not functioning properly? I told you to spend money to buy it—$100 million. Not a penny less."
"Are you crazy? You are fooling me!" Erma grew furious.
"If you understand pink diamonds so well, you should know the current market value. This price isn't expensive at all. Besides, didn't you say this ring was a token of love specially prepared by Archie for you? It holds significant meaning for you, far beyond monetary value. This price is already quite favorable."
"You must be jealous of Archie's love for me, so you're deliberately trying to make things difficult for me! No wonder you couldn't get Archie's love. You're such a malicious woman, deserving of the curses from the Moon Goodness! The day I become Luna, I will tear you apart with my claws, bitch!" Erma snapped, her eyes blazing with fury.
"You did remind me!" I stared at Erma with a cold smile.
