Chapter 88

Ch. 88 / 119 Feb 24, 2026

Araceli POV

Finally, a reporter came back to his senses and asked unconvincingly, "Ms. Chancey, we all know that the Fleming Group is a well-known company in New York."

I nodded.

He continued, "As far as I know, this time Mr. Fleming came to New York to look for investment opportunities, so countless companies want to cooperate with the Fleming Group. If the truth is what you just said, why would Mr. Fleming repeatedly approach you for cooperation?"

He paused and looked at me. "Ms. Chancey, Creaty Company has only been established for a month or so and is very small. Why did the Fleming Group choose to cooperate with you?"

"That's a good question. It's true that my company is small, but the software I design is unique in the world."

The employees standing behind me immediately stepped forward and placed a laptop on the desk.

I casually pressed on the keyboard and calmly introduced it, "This is the first software our company has come out with. As far as I know, there is no artificial intelligence on the market that can fully manage a company, but this software of mine is different..."

I spoke eloquently. The scene was silent.

This was a press conference and a live broadcast.

All the people on the scene were stunned.

"Araceli turned this interview into a promotional event for her new product!

"Amazing! Araceli was able to use this opportunity to promote her company. She's really smart."

"Wait, I think her new software is really great! I've been looking for such software before..."

Everyone started talking about it.

It took me a few minutes to present the company's first product clearly.

I looked up, smiled, and looked at the camera.

"Anyone who needs it can contact us by phone."

I turned my head and glanced at the reporters. "If you have nothing to ask, I have work to take care of."

"Wait!"

The reporter standing at the front finally snapped back to attention.

I frowned slightly and looked at him.

He asks, "Ms. Chancey, since you deny that Ramon is the father of your children, may I ask who the real father of your children is?"

I smiled, "This is my privacy. I don't have to answer to you."

I turned around and walked toward the elevator.

Leanna was very excited. "Ms. Chancey, we just received calls from ten companies, and they all called to ask about working with us."

I nod my head. "There will be more clients coming in seeking cooperation. If the marketing department is understaffed, Leanna, you are responsible for recruiting some more employees."

"Yes, Ms. Chancey!"

Leanna took out the phone and contacted the HR staff.

I went into the office, closed the door, and made a phone call.

The call was answered just as it went through.

An exasperated voice came through.

"Araceli, you're lying! Do you think they'll believe this nonsense?"

It was Melany.

She was obviously furious that her elaborate plan had been so easily ruined by me.

Not only that, but I used the news to get a lot of investment opportunities for my company.

Melany must have been shaking with anger.

I smiled, clicked on a recording, and started playing.

"What kind of drug did you give Araceli back then?"

"A drug that would make her do what you want."

Melany paused abruptly. After a moment, she said incredulously, "How did you get this recording? Shit! You set me up!"

"I set you up?" I smiled carelessly, "You exposed my privacy, created crazy trends, and made my private affairs public. You thought you could stay out of it because you weren't in New York? You're wrong, Melany, and besides, I'm not that stupid."

Melany took a sharp breath. "What I exposed was the truth!"

"Everything on this recording is true, too," I said calmly, "and what happened five years ago ruined my life. To this day, there are still people who insult me with what happened five years ago. If I expose this recording, what will those who insult me do?"

My voice was as cold as ice.

Melany didn't say anything.

She knew that once this recording was exposed, those who had insulted me would turn the tables on her.

Reputation was the most precious thing she had. She wouldn't let me do that.

"No one will believe this recording!" Melany burst out laughing, "No one will believe you!

"Of course I won't expose the recording, because it won't do me any good."

After I said this coldly, I felt Melany breathe a sigh of relief.

Then, I continued, "I will submit the recording to the court and let the police investigate what happened five years ago. This is a criminal offense, so Melany, prepare yourself for a court trial."

Melany shuddered and said, "Fuck!!! What the fuck do you want?"

I laughed coldly and didn't answer her.

I had consulted Kenneth, and this recording was not enough to find Melany guilty.

So what?

As long as it deterred Melany, I had nothing to fear.

"From now on, if you come near my children or publish any news against me and my children, I will take this recording to the court," I sneered, "Ramon is the father of my children. Melany, if you don't want to go to jail, don't come after me again. Otherwise, I swear I will put you in the jail."

I hung up the phone.

...

It didn't take long for the online discussion to die down a lot.

I finished my work and took the kids to the Royal Pack's villa.

As soon as Essel saw me, she ran over to me and hugged my leg.

"Ms. Chancey, you didn't come yesterday. I missed you so much."

I smiled and stroked her head. "Essel, what do you want to eat today?"

Essel thinks about it and takes my hand and walks towards the house. As she walks, she says, "I want a sandwich, grilled chicken wings, steak..."

I laughed.

Valeria and Krish followed behind me. I looked back at them, picked Valeria up and held Krish's hand.

I put the kids in the living room and then went to the kitchen to cook dinner. The servants had already prepared the ingredients for me.

I rolled up my sleeves and was about to start when I heard the sound of children's laughter from outside the living room, like a warm breeze blowing through. I couldn't help but smile, and a feeling of happiness welled up in my heart.
