Love Me, Or Reject Me

Chapter 21 Freya's Prank

Ch. 21 / 120 Dec 11, 2024

Kingsley's POV

Just then, the door swung open, and my Luna, Freya, walked in, holding a cup of coffee. She spoke in a sweet voice, "Kingsley, here's your coffee."

Setting the coffee on the table, she pouted, appearing somewhat reluctant, but then flashed me a smile.

I reached for the cup, taking a sip; it was the exact flavor I enjoyed.

"Can I head out now? You seem to be quite occupied," Freya asked, her gaze briefly shifting towards Jeremy, who stood off to the side.

I felt a slight pang of dissatisfaction, her constant desire to leave me causing the wolf within me to instinctively whimper.

"Wait for me in the side lounge," I responded unhappily.

Why did my Luna always entertain the idea of leaving me? Was she trying to play hard to get?? Or was this her way of punishing me?

Freya's expression hinted at displeasure; she started to say something, yet obediently made her way to the side lounge. The door closed with a thud, a silent expression of her discontent.

"Women are always like that," I muttered, rubbing my nose in embarrassment as I grumbled to Jeremy.

"Yeah, you know, happy wife, happy life," Jeremy concurred empathetically, nodding in approval.

We carried on with a few more work-related conversations before Jeremy took his leave. I entered the lounge.

Freya lay on the couch, apparently asleep. Her neckline had slightly shifted, revealing a hint of her soft, white breasts, tempting attention. The werewolf nature within me stirred, and my wolf emitted a suppressed whimper.

I approached her, crouching down, and gently rested my hand on her forehead. Freya's head instinctively nuzzled against my palm. I brushed my thumb over her parted lips, gently rubbing them.

Freya frowned, struggling to awaken from her dream.

Instead, I placed my hand over her eyes, obstructing her view.

In the next moment, I mustered my resolve and kissed her collarbone. My hand instinctively ventured down her leg and under her skirt...

Just as I was becoming lost in Luna's exquisite form, a sudden push compelled me away from Freya's body.

I opened my eyes and regarded Freya with discontent. She had awakened before me, struggling vehemently to reject me. The absence of skin-to-skin contact with my partner left me feeling bereft. The inner beast within me was already whimpering in my mind.

"What do you think you're doing?" Freya interrogated me, her tone laced with anger.

"What does it look like? Remember, you're my Luna," I retorted.

Freya clenched her teeth and rose from the couch.

"Yeah? And what about Tracy? You never treated me with the respect you gave her!" she exclaimed, her eyes slightly reddened.

I flinched, her teary gaze causing a pang in my heart.

"I told you there was nothing between me and her, but you never believed me," I explained, my helplessness evident.

"You don't need to explain anything, Kingsley. I only believe what I see."

Observing Freya's unwavering expression, I ran my hand through my hair in frustration.

Love, why couldn't you be as straightforward as simple as a math problem of one plus one?

"Get up and pack, we're leaving," I said, diverting the topic to lighten the atmosphere.

"Leaving? Where to?" Freya inquired, visibly taken aback, her confusion apparent.

I rubbed my forehead slightly and reminded her, "There's a party tonight."

Before Freya could object, I hastily added, "Don't forget our agreement."

Freya lowered her head in exasperation. "Fine."

I couldn't help but smile as I picked up my keys and jacket. "Let's go. I have your dress ready; now I'll take you to collect it."

Upon reaching the dress store, the manager promptly came over to greet us.

Soon, Freya was whisked away to try on clothes and have her makeup and hair done. Meanwhile, I was waiting outside.

Before too long, Freya emerged from the fitting room. As I glanced over, my breath caught in the next instant.

There she stood by the fitting mirror, draped in a burgundy silk gown with a textured surface. The gown cascaded elegantly, accentuating the contours of her figure. It brilliantly contrasted with Freya's radiant fair complexion, creating a bold interplay of colors that exuded a teasing allure.

Almost instantly, my wolf stirred, letting out an unrestrained howl of joy and pride through our mind link. It seemed Freya sensed precisely the desires that raced through me at that moment. She blushed under my gaze and averted her face in bashfulness.

I struggled to tear my eyes away, yet my attempt at avoidance appeared to inspire a playful impulse in Freya's mind.

"Like what you see?" With deliberate intent, she approached me, twirling a couple of times and even spinning around twice more before flashing a mischievous smile my way.

"It's decent," I muttered under my breath.

If only we were in a more private setting, I swear I'd exact my revenge in bed, making her pay the price for daring to tease her Alpha this way.

Freya furrowed her brows, her dissatisfaction evident. "Is that all you have to say?" She closed the distance between us once more.

Meeting her gaze squarely, I countered, "What would you like me to say?"

Freya was left momentarily speechless.

Seemingly finding my response uninteresting, she retorted in a somewhat sulky tone, "Nothing."

She averted her head from me, and the diamond tassel earrings she wore swayed gently, casting alternating patches of light and shadow on her pale neck.

Was her ear turning red because of the seductive game she had just played?

I studied that ear for a moment, then rose from my seat. "Let's get going."
