I told Athena everything, I shouldn't have as I knew there would be consequences but watching her and her sister go at it in wolf form for a split second, I saw how my life wouldn't be worth living without my true mate. There was no denying Athena's wolf was strong but until she had mated with both me and our second mate, her sisters wolf was stronger. "Tomorrow, Vanessa has Alpha training she needs to complete before taking the title at the end of the year. My grandfather is going to step down from his position as King handing it over to my parents, while my parents hand the pack over to my sister"
"Don't you wish to be Alpha? What role will you play?"

"Tell me their wrong, tell me you haven't slept with her?" Athena dropped my hand when I didn't respond. My eyes just went straight to Vanessa who I noticed was stood in the doorway with their mum the slightest smirk on her face. "You need to leave Axel" My heart hurt at the words that left my mate's mouth. Thor whimpered not knowing what Athena was going to say next, fear something I wasn't used to had me feeling nauseous. "I Athena Anderson Daughter of the Alpha to the Moonlight Pack, reject you Axel Gemstone as my fated mate"
Thor began to howl as I fell to my knees gripping my chest as I felt the bond break. I had experienced pain throughout my life but this, this was unbearable. I watched as Athena's dad held her up, tears streaming down her face. I had fucked things up and knew I only had myself to blame.
"I Axel Gemstone son of the Alpha to the Gemstone Pack hereby reject your rejection, I vow to make you take it back and accept me" By the looks on their faces my words caught them all by surprise, they clearly thought i would just accept it and take Vanessa instead.
I felt Thor push forward my eyes burning as they glowed their bright green showing he was in control. Using his strength, he stood us upright. I watched as Thor moved towards Athena but was blocked by her dad who growled in warning letting his Alpha aura slip over us. Being as we both had Alpha blood it wouldn't normally affect us yet being as her dad is mated to the granddaughter of the moon goddess meant his aura much stronger. I stumbled backwards at the force of it before turning on my heel and leaving the room though not before snarling at Vanessa.
Vanessa's POV
There was no way in hell I was going to let Athena win. The way Axel protected her had me angry no more than that I was livid. Once back in my room I wasted no time in phoning my dad and turning on the waterworks. If I couldn't have Axel neither would Athena. When my dad answered I began to blubber away, I told him that Axel had promised to take me as a chosen mate so when we mated, he then refused to mark me. Instead, he left me alone and ashamed only to then turn his attention on my sister. I told my dad how I feared he would humiliate Athena in the same way causing her to fall back deep into the depression she had fought so hard to escape.
The growl that left my dad told me all I needed to know, before putting down the phone he told me he would be right here. The ride from the embassy would take at least thirty minutes which was good as it would give Axel and that whelp time to get themselves into a very compromising position.
"He will be ours when Athena kicks him away for being with us. We will make quite the power couple" Jewel was right, he was on the fence and my sister kicking him to the kerb would certainly steer him towards us.
When my dad kicked Athena's bedroom door in, I thought all would fall into plan, how wrong was I. Athena had rejected him like we suspected she would for sleeping with me yet what I didn't anticipate was the snarl and growl Axel gave me as he trudged past. He should have taken my hand and taken me with him, but he didn't. Why didn't he take me? It was obvious we shared an attraction there was no denying it so why was he willing to settle for someone as broken, wretched, inexperienced, and boring as Athena. I was much more socially appropriate for someone like Axel. I knew how to get him excited; I was strong welded; I could fight not to mention I was so much better looking. My mum stayed with Athena to calm her down as she broke down from rejecting her mate, one that Axel refused to accept. What the hell was wrong with him was he a glutton for punishment or something? My dad on the other hand followed Axel back to his room wanting to personally evict him from the Royal Pack territory. As Athena got out the car, Hector came out of the packhouse running towards her hen he suddenly stopped in his tracks looking right at me. You had got to be kidding me, him really? Hector not once taking his eyes off me placed Athena down on the ground before turning to walk towards me.
"Hector what are you..." Athena looked just as confused as Megan to what the hell was going on.
"I Hector Hall, son of the Beta to the Moonlight Pack hereby reject you Vanessa Anderson daughter to the Alpha of the Moonlight Pack"
