Athena's POV
This old bat truly had lost it. How she even had the nerve to sit there with a straight face before giving me her idea of a 'proposition' was beyond me. My mum was a woman of many words and even she was gobsmacked.
"It's a fair deal. Either Athena takes back her rejection willingly, or I will simply siphon her magic and place it in a woman of my choosing and my son WILL mate her" the way in which she glared at Axel had my skin crawling.
"You mean Vanessa? You know, Axel told me you wanted him to mate her, that you didn't care if it wasn't what he wanted. I thought it was just an excuse but standing here listening to the shit you expel; well, I can honestly say I feel sorry for him" I was fuming. How dare she even suggest something so disturbing.
"My daughter is right there will be no deal. Now Benson if you wouldn't mind escorting this woman from pack territory"
"Alpha Jake we are not through with this meeting. Now I will use force to ensure I get what I want if I must, so think about the safety of your pack before dismissing me" she just wouldn't give up.
"Yes, we are now if you are unwilling to leave, I will have you put in the dungeon until you come to your senses. And before you start spouting that the cells won't hold you let me make this as clear as possible. My cells have been spelled to hold all kinds of evil so unless you wish to find out I suggest you leave now" I stumbled back into Hector as my dad let his aura slip out allowing Axel's mother to know he meant what he said.
"You will regret this Axel come. We are leaving"
"Mum I will catch up, Athena can I please have a moment in private to speak with you?"
"Whatever you wish to speak to my daughter about can be said in front of us and her mate" my dad's tone showed just how agitated he was becoming.
"With all due respect Alpha Jake, she is my mate to. I wish to speak alone"
"Dad it's ok, we won't be long"
"Fine but use your mother's office. You touch her and I swear to the moon goddess I will kill you" my dad only ceased snarling once my mum sat on his lap again allowing him to inhale her scent which instantly calmed him.
I left my dad's office with both Hector and Axel hot on my trail leading them down the hallway to my mum's office. Opening the door, I gestured for Axel to take a seat.
"Athena I'm sorry I really am. I have never been interested in your sister I promise you. My mother, as you have witnessed is hard to sway. Not to mention I am unable to deny her, long story short, when I was a child, my mother branded me with a spell. As a result, if she pulls on that branding no matter how much I fight I do not win. The longer it takes for me to give in to her the more painful it gets. She is a master of her craft, me being an elemental wolf is the main reason she cast the poxy spell. The magic runs in my father's bloodline, she was unable to bend him to her will so instead used me. I have hurt people Athena and I'm not proud of it. Why do you think my father's security company is flourishing? It certainly isn't our smiles"
"Sorry or not Axel you still did it. Hector here was fated to Vanessa, he immediately rejected her. Granted he is my, well our mate he was hers first. He was able to do what needed to be done. You have alpha blood Axel, your strong my wolf can sense it. You are more capable of making your own choices and you know it" I shocked myself with how stern and strong my voice was, never in my life had I spoken to anyone this way. "I'm sorry for what your mother did to you I truly am, but I don't see why you're telling me this"
"Because I need you to understand that by purposely denying her of what she wants, it's not going to end well for any of us. I don't want to hurt you anymore than I already have goddess knows I don't. But my power is strong, it's fueld by my emotions the worst one being rage. If she sends me into that state, there's no telling what she will have me do. We need to pull together and stop her, I mean it. If she manages to harness our combined bond, she will be unstoppable. I have read her mind Athena and I swear to you, to both of you that she will not stop"
"Ok. So, what do you suggest?"
We talked for nearly an hour before my mum came in telling Axel his time was up. Watching him leave I wanted to take his hand, instinct telling me to mate and mark him though I knew it was this stupid mate bond. Him having rejected my rejection meant I could still feel the pull towards him, looking at Hector I could tell he was having a hard time in Axel's presence also. Hector had never been interested in men so this was as new to him as it was me, though he had agreed to see how things go when the time is right.
My mum wanted to know what we talked about, but I promised Axel it would stay between the three of us. He wanted to complete the bond with us but had to find a way around his mum, I just hoped he could do it soon. My wolf wouldn't be at full strength unless bonded to both mates. Hector stayed quiet the entire time except for the snarl here and there when he didn't agree with something that was said, though him not having said any words only proved he knew it was the right choice regardless of whether he liked it or not. We had a plan, rushed it may be but if executed correctly it would work. I told Axel that I wanted Hector to mark me which he begrudgingly agreed on, it made sense we were mates, and it would also not raise suspicion while we actively completed our plan.
Hector took my hand in his, the sparks from his touch making my knees feel wobbly. I led him back to my room making sure to lock the door.
"Now where were we" Hectors voice was full of lust as his lips smashed into mine.
Picking me up and carrying me to the bed Hector removed my top and bra before laying my on my back. He moved his kisses down my jawline stopping at my chest. Taking one of my nipples into his mouth he slowly trailed his hand down my stomach letting the sparks dance along my skin. The scent of my arousal quickly filling the room as his hand slipped into my underwear whilst gently applying pressure to my clit. Hector stayed still for a few seconds allowing me to adjust to him the tears in my eyes finally drying as the pain subsided.
