Leah's POV
Lucian stared at Clara with a cold stare and said, "Mind your words, Miss Farrow. There's a surveillance camera in this room. I know you're drunk, but you're threatening my guest in front of my face. The Royal Court will prosecute you for being disrespectful to the Lycans."
Clara immediately flinched and mumbled, "Sorry, Your Highness... It's just that I know this woman. She's an Omega and she's a liar! She posted my video online to get attention! She's a shameless bit..."
She couldn't continue her speech, because the look on my brother's face was frightening.
I slapped her hand away from my face and said, "If I had wanted to get people's attention, I would have posted another video clip online. The part shows a policeman dragging you on the floor. You weren't wearing any pants. I only posted your gambling video online because I wanted to prove my innocence. I didn't steal your mother's jewelry. You did. Anyway, I'm done talking to you. Now it's the time for you to leave." I said in a calm voice.
Clara looked at me with eyes wide open and hissed, "Are you kidding me?! You're the one who's supposed to leave! This place is the most expensive restaurant in town. It's exclusive for superior people like Alpha Lucian and me!" Then, she turned around and raised her voice, "Manager?! Where's the manager?! I want to complain! Why is a low-bred scum allowed to dine in this upscale restaurant?!"
At exactly the same time, the restaurant manager came along with the security guards.
Clara pulled the collar of the manager and said, "You! Let the security guards kick this woman out of the restaurant right now!"
The manager looked at Clara with confusion and composure. He said, "Miss Farrow, I'm deeply sorry. There must be some misunderstanding. This gentleman is the largest shareholder of this restaurant, and this lady is his honorable VIP guest. We respect all of our guests, but if someone tries to disturb the quiet ambiance of this place, we will have to force this person to leave. Now, I highly advise you to switch to another restaurant for lunch. We can help you to make a reservation and hire a taxi for you."
Clara looked as if she was seized by surprise. She shouted in the manager's face, "Are you suggesting that I should leave your fucking restaurant?"
The manager replied, "No, I'm not suggesting. I am making you leave."
Then, the security guards stepped forward and grabbed Clara by the arms, trying to drag her out of the restaurant.
Just at that moment, a familiar deep voice appeared outside -
"What's going on here?"
Then, I saw my ex-mate, Lucas.
As always, he was like a vision, a masterpiece carved out of marble and brought to life.
His black hair was swept back in a neat and stylish manner, framing his chiseled jawline and shark cheekbones. His piercing blue eyes seemed to sparkle like diamonds.
After what I had been through in the past five years, I still couldn't manage to take my eyes off him.
When I laid my eyes on him for the first time five years ago, I fell in love with him immediately. It was the easiest and the most natural thing that I've done in my life. At that time, I was under the influence of our mating bond. But now, when the bond was gone, I could still see the reason why I would fall in love with him effortlessly.
Lucas Farrow, the Alpha of the White Walkers Pack, looked so damn hot.
Lucas freed his sister Clara away from the capture by the security guards and handed her to his Beta Jorah.
Lucian said to the restaurant manager, "Leave us."
The manager immediately left with the security guards.
As soon as they were gone, Clara howled, "Brother! You're here! Great! I came here to pay my respect to Alpha Lucian! But that bitch tried to drive me away from the restaurant! It's all her fault! Ask her to apologize to me as you did in the past!"
Hearing Clara's words, Lucian looked as if he wanted to peel off Lucas' skin.
"Clara, you're drunk and you don't know what you're talking about. Jorah, take her away." Lucas commanded.
Just as Jorah was about to take Clara away, Lucian stopped him.
"I didn't say that you could take that woman away," Lucian said.
"Sorry, Your Highness," Jorah immediately stopped to apologize. "But Miss Farrow was..."
"Shut up, Beta. Did I ask your opinion?" Lucian's voice wasn't loud, but I could tell that he was mad.
Jorah looked panicked and stepped back.
"People around you have disciplinary issues, Farrow. It seemed that you've been spoiling everyone except your ex-mate," Lucian stared at Lucas and said.
Lucas took a bow and said, "Your Highness, I'm so sorry for this inconvenience caused by my sister. She's under the influence of alcohol. Please kindly allow me to take her away and discipline her."
"I want to see her being disciplined right now," Lucian said in a pressing voice. "Consider it as entertainment prior to my lunch."
Lucas didn't say anything. He turned his gaze toward me. My heart immediately skipped a beat. His eyes locked onto mine, and I felt a jolt of electricity shoot through me. Apparently, my ex-mate was a force to be reckoned with, a man who commanded attention and respect without even trying.
At that moment, I had a strange feeling. Even though I had spent five years with this man, I knew little about him. He remained an unsolved puzzle to me.
My brother must have noticed the sentiment in my eyes toward Lucas. His eyes were locked on Lucas and I knew he had no intention of letting go of him easily this time.
"I'm talking to you, Farrow," he said.
Lucas had no other option but said, "Your Highness, my sister was born in a difficult condition. That's why she's troubled. She is and has always been a challenged child in my family and it's my fault that I can't make any progress with her."
"Is that your way of telling me that your sister is retarded?" Lucian narrowed his eyes.
"No, Your Highness. This is me, apologizing for my incompetence and remorse for what happened in the past." Lucas was talking to my brother, but his eyes were still looking at me.
I had to grab the edge of the table tightly so that I would suppress the compulsion of standing up and hugging him in my arms.
Clara, who looked lost and confused, stared at my brother and Lucas alternatively. Eventually, she sat on her feet and started to cry out loud.
"No! I'm not stupid! Don't say something like that!" She wailed.
"Clara, you need to apologize for what you've done to His Highness and Lea..." Lucas took a pause and continued, "Miss Lewyn."
Miss Lewyn.
Now I'm only Miss Lewyn to him.
My heart sank.
