Leah’s POV
Laura’s announcement set the whole club on fire. All the werewolves started to howl at the Moon and the music started to get deafening. Champagne corks popped up everywhere like gunshots. The whole dance floor became a pool with young, hot, muscular male models floating on it, cheering and splashing water at each other.
It was a crazy scene. Aesthetically sickening. Sexually arousing.
But at the same time, it felt so wrong that it started to feel right.
I knew Laura specialized in throwing a heck of parties, but this party was losing control.
Then, the DJ started to do a remix version of Clair de Lune, which was used in my third brother Lycidas' debut movie Moonlight Howler.
The crowd immediately recognized it and started to go wild.
"Come on, Leah, dance with me!" Laura grabbed my hands and pulled me to the dance floor.
Everyone was clapping and cheering for us, so I had no other option but danced with her.
Our feet splashed water, dampening our dress, face, and hair. But somehow we didn't care. Surrounded by a beautiful energetic crowd, we kept dancing like there was no tomorrow.
At the climax of this entire remix song, all the lights went off with only a stray of light projecting at me and Laura.
All of a sudden, the music was gone and the whole club went quiet.
Laura held me in his arms and exclaimed with excitement, "The whole world is gone but the party goes onnnnnn!"
At that time, all the lights and music went back. Waves of electrifying music stroked the crowd, reaping people down like crops. Every werewolf in the club was over the Moon while dancing to the same beat of the music.
I was having the time of my life until Laura suddenly grabbed the mic and burst into tears.
"Leah, I was going to give this speech at your bachelorette party, but somehow it makes more sense for tonight. Trust me, you need to sit down for this."
A Playgirl Bunny pulled a chair to the middle of the dance floor.
After I took the seat, Laura took a deep breath and said, "Leah, ever since we were born, you've always been my best friend and the sister that I've never got. I love you and I would do everything to make you happy. That's why I've prepared a little something for you!"
As soon as she finished her speech, it started to rain.
I felt confused for a second because we were in an indoor club, and then I realized that it was coming from some theatrical installment on the roof. A rainmaker, maybe?
Immersed in the pouring rain, I looked around and saw a tall, strong guy walking slowly toward me from the crowd.
He was wearing a giant rain hat and a long raincoat wrapped tightly around his ripped body, holding an umbrella in his hand.
I felt puzzled and turned my head toward Laura.
As soon as I saw her mysterious, playful smile, I realized what was going on.
"Oh, no, Laura... You're kidding me..." I said with a wry smile.
Then, the prelude of It's Raining Men appeared with the familiar thunder rumbling.
It was a quiz in a pop teen magazine we did when we were 12.
There was one question asking about the one thing I absolutely hate to see at my bachelorette party.
My question was about a male stripper dancing to It's Raining Men.
And Laura still remembered it.
I could feel tears circulating in my eyes.
I didn't invite her on my wedding day. I deprived her of the right of being the maid of honor of her best friend. But yet she remembered every single thing we experienced together.
"Humidity is rising..."
The stripper dropped a sleeve.
"Barometer's getting low..."
He dropped his belt.
"According to all sources..."
He dropped another sleeve.
"The street's the place to go..."
He peeled off his whole raincoat, exposing his muscular chest in front of me. I noticed there were some scars across his chest, but they were carefully covered by a tattoo of iron chains and thorns.
"Cause tonight for the first time... Just about half-past ten..."
He pulled my chair drastically toward him, triggering an exclaim of surprise from me.
"For the first time in history...It's gonna start raining men..."
He took up the chair by the legs and forced me to spread my legs open and wrap my legs around his waist.
The rain hat slipped to the floor and I saw his face.
There were times in your life when you met someone and you just felt that the whole world stopped turning and nothing in this world mattered anymore.
That was one of the times in my life.
With piercing blue eyes and jet-black hair, he looked like a marvelous Greek sculpture rather than a real person. The confidence and strength he exuded made the air around him seem to sizzle with a quiet intensity.
His muscular frame was full display as he stood tall and lean, with broad shoulders and a chiseled chest that drew the eye. He wore no shirt, allowing his defined abs and rippling muscles to be fully appreciated. His skin was bronzed, adding to this ruggedly handsome appearance. Even though he was carrying me, doing impossible dance moves that insinuated sex, every movement he made seemed fluid and graceful, as if he was a natural-born dancer.
The most striking thing was when he stared at me, I saw a slight hint of vulnerability and shyness in his eyes, which was a stark contrast to what he was doing to me.
At that moment, I felt a gripping pain in my chest, like someone was stabbing a sharp knife into my chest, and started stirring.
I was completely shocked.
The same feeling only happened once in my life.
And that was when I met Lucas, my ex-mate, for the first time.
Almost at the same time, I saw the same kind of pain and sorrow in his eyes.
Oh, no. I thought to myself.
He picked me up from the chair and kicked the chair away.
"Tall, blond, dark, and lean..." The music went on.
This can't be it. No.
He held me in his arms and pressed his chest against mine.
"Rough, tough, strong, and mean..."
Please, Moon Goddess. You must be joking.
He leaned forward while gazing into my eyes.
"She's a single woman too..."
He molded his lips gently on mine.
"And she did what she had to do..."
I closed my eyes and quietly moaned. I melted in the sweetness of this kiss and his scent.
Is this a male stripper...
My second chance?!
