Gabriel’s POV:
It’s been two days already since I saw last saw Zordan. Not to mention, the bite mark on my neck had started to sting a bit lesser, but not even once I tried to remove the choker he tied around me. I don’t want to admit it, but indeed it was relieving to have something cover the mark as I deliberately wanted to avoid public attention.
Several thoughts were crowded in my mind, especially our engagement ceremony which is supposed to happen tomorrow. Even though just he said to me before that he would be away until the ceremony, his guards and the maids around didn’t leave me a bit of space. I was constantly watched around by them and it created a strange suffocation for me.
I was aware, it must be that punk’s command to keep a watch over me but I still can’t realize it…why does he want me to tie up with him here? Looking at the perspective of what he did to my father, should I be considered his enemy? Wouldn’t it be easy for him to kill me and remove every traces of the sin he has committed? But instead…everything is freakin’ confusing!
Surprisingly, all the engagement preparations were already done without requiring any of my involvement. I will be decked with a lavish embroidered royal gown, along with the precious jewels as the new Crown Princess of this kingdom…but, every day my heart breaks apart in pain. The day I wanted to cherish as the best memory of my life will be regarded as a cursed one from which it’s inevitable to escape.
Father’s face still shows up in my blurred memories whenever I try to get a wink of sleep. He always wished to see me dressed as a beautiful bride, he often talked about it too. Even though I failed to fulfill his wish before and ended up hurting him badly, but this time…I had wished his dream to come true.
Tomorrow when I will step out after being groomed as a new bride, how would I be able to control the wrenching pain in my heart when I won’t see his face anymore?
As all these thoughts clamped in my mind, I exhaled a heavy sigh and blankly stared at the night sky glittered with tiny stars. A heaviness was succumbing me to despair and I could feel the suffocation growing inside me.
In these few days, I barely had the time to be surrounded by these grim thoughts since Zordan would somehow always bother me with his presence. But now that he is not here anymore…I am all alone in this giant room and there is no one to bother me anymore.
But instead of being a bit at ease, why does everything feel more suffocating?
I glanced my curious eyes around his room, only to realize every piece of furniture and texture of this room was imprinted with Zordan’s presence. Yet still, something felt empty. As I condensed into deep thoughts, I wondered, if my loneliness was messing my mind right now?
I have always deliberately hated to be alone and that’s why, Zordan even stayed next to me when I was unconscious last time. But to think of that he would mark me when I wasn’t even in my senses…feels strangely infuriating! Perhaps, that’s why I lost control over my anger and attacked him instead! Why did he do it?
And most importantly, why am I only thinking about him now?
By this time a faint pain had started to arouse deep in my chest, leaving me restless. I lowered my eyes and exhaled a humiliated sigh. The mark on my neck started to tingle again and unknowingly my fingers caressed over the choker. No matter how hard I tried to run away from it, I couldn’t deny anymore that I was missing him…
Yes, I miss him and it’s too humiliating to even realize it now!
After cherishing someone so deeply from my heart, how was it possible for me to resent him too much? I am aware that I must loathe him after what he has done to me…but… Unfortunately, Zordan was the only person who found me whenever I was miserably alone. Just being around him was very assuring for me that I had started to forget what it feels like to experience the pain of loneliness…
How pathetic to think, all of my hopes were raised in vain, only to get crashed down in the pit of the abyss.
TAP! TAP!
But when I succumbed into these grim thoughts, I heard the sound of royal boots approaching hurriedly towards the room. I quickly turned around and rolled my eyes, wondering if Zordan had come back after all!
It must be him! Even though I felt a bit irked, it was relieving that I won’t be all alone anymore.
