Chapter 258

Ch. 258 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

"Grandma!" Dominic looked at Elvira with a worried expression.

Elvira's worried face made him very distressed. Elvira had treated them well since they were young. No matter how much they made a fuss, Elvira would be patient to accompany them.

She was even closer to them than a biological grandmother.

Elvira opened her eyes and looked at Dominic. She smiled lovingly and comforted Dominic gently. "Dominic, don't be afraid. Laverne will be fine."

"Yes!" Dominic smiled slightly, his mind filled with gratitude. Laverne had already been found. As long as they were fast enough, they could quickly bring Laverne back.

Elvira suddenly remembered that Dominic didn't have dinner.

She glanced at the clock. Denise was almost back at this time.

Elvira called Denise and ordered takeout on the Internet.

Then, she sat quietly in the living room with Dominic and waited.

When Marilyn and Roland arrived at the West Tower, Malcolm and Sergio arrived at the West Tower as well.

Four policemen also arrived there.

Marilyn and Roland met Malcolm and Sergio after they got out of their cars!

"Lynn!" Malcolm looked at her with a worried look.

Roland leaned slightly to the side, standing in front of Marilyn without a trace.

He looked at Malcolm coldly.

He seemed to warn Malcolm to stay away from Marilyn.

Malcolm's face suddenly darkened when he noticed Roland's movement. His cold looks made him more handsome.

Marilyn walked out from behind Roland and asked, "Mr. Lowe, where's Laverne?"

Malcolm's eyes darkened a little after he heard how Marilyn addressed him.

Malcolm looked at Marilyn's pale face. Out of his worry, Marilyn's moist lips turned dry.

Malcolm slowly said in a low and husky voice, "She is in this unfinished building. Terence has already brought people up. This is Detective Vandenberg. Let's go up now."

After Malcolm finished his introduction, he looked at Marilyn with a deep gaze, emotions surged in his eyes. Then, he walked forward to lead the way with Sergio.

Terence brought five or six bodyguards from his company. The bodyguards were all young and strong and had just retired from the army. They were very close to Terence. Moreover, they did their best to do things!

Terence and these bodyguards came to a messy room on the third floor. At this time, the two men who had kidnapped Laverne were unaware of their arrival.

The two men sat at the side and lowered their heads to play with their phones.

Suddenly, someone barged in. The two men were shocked and fell to the ground before they could make a sound.

Terence took out his phone and quickly called Malcolm.

"Malcolm, we are in the first room on the left of the third floor."

After hanging up the phone, Terence walked towards Laverne, who was curled up in the corner of the wall.

After Malcolm hung up, he told Detective Vandenberg the location of the room.

Then, he rushed upstairs alone at the fastest speed.

Sergio looked at Malcolm's back and was puzzled. Laverne was not Malcolm's daughter. Why was Malcolm so anxious?

Then, he laughed at himself. After all, Malcolm thought highly of Marilyn.

He had never seen Malcolm so excited and impatient.

Marilyn walked faster and faster. Roland carefully guarded Marilyn, afraid that Marilyn would fall.

Laverne was covered in dirt, and her delicate little face was stained with some dust. Her beautiful braids were disheveled.

She was sitting in the corner, her hands and feet tied with ropes. But there was no trace of fear in her bright eyes.

Terence had just walked to Laverne's side and was just about to squat down when he heard Malcolm's urgent voice from behind him.

"Laverne."

Terence looked back and saw Malcolm sweating profusely. Malcolm passed by him like a gust of wind.

Malcolm untied the rope on Laverne's little hand as he asked, "Laverne, are you hurt anywhere?"

Laverne did not expect that the first person who rushed up to save her was the person she had met twice.

Laverne blinked her beautiful eyes, smiled lightly, and said in a sweet voice, "I'm fine. I was just kicked twice by them! It hurt a lot back then, but now it doesn't hurt anymore!"

Seeing that Laverne was not scared, Malcolm thought, "She is indeed my daughter. Under such circumstances, she is still very calm, without a trace of fear."

Malcolm quickly untied the rope on Laverne's feet.

Laverne was wearing shorts. On her fair calf, there was a large patch of bruises.

One of her white shoes was lost. There were obvious abrasions at her heel. It looked like she was being dragged to the ground. Her knees were also covered in bruises.

The abrasions and bruises on Laverne's body tugged at Malcolm's heartstrings.

Detective Vandenberg rushed over. The rays of the flashlight in Detective Vandenberg's hand shone on Malcolm's profile and made it clear.

However, Laverne saw the coldness and distress in Malcolm's eyes.

The people brought by Detective Vandenberg handcuffed the two men who were pushed to the ground and took them away. Then, Detective Vandenberg told Malcolm and Marilyn to go to the police station to make a statement later.

Malcolm nodded and carefully carried Laverne up.

"Laverne, don't be afraid. I'll send you to the hospital right now." Malcolm lowered his voice and could not hide his sorrows.

Laverne smiled and said, "I don't need to go to the hospital. There are just some abrasions. I can go home and wipe them with disinfectant. After applying some medicine, I will be fine!"

Malcolm looked at Laverne and said seriously, "No, Laverne. You have to go to the hospital."

"Laverne." Marilyn ran over, panting.

Seeing that Marilyn was covered in sweat and filled with worry, Laverne clenched her little hand tightly, and her face darkened.

Laverne smiled and said, "Mom, why are you running so fast? I am fine."

When Terence heard what Laverne said, he couldn't help but say, "Hey! Are you a child? You should cry and throw yourself into your mother's arms when you see your mother. Why are you so abnormal?"

After hearing Terence's words, Laverne looked at him with disdain and mocked, "Do I have to cry? How shameful is it! I am just being kidnapped. Can crying solve the problem?

"If I had been noisy, would I still be standing here and talking to you so loudly?

"I read many books and watched TV every day for nothing?"

Terence was speechless and looked at Laverne in admiration.

Then, he turned around to look at Marilyn and said happily, "Ms. Chapman, I also want such a clever and sensible daughter. Come home with me. I will marry you!"

Marilyn was puzzled.

Roland and Malcolm's faces collapsed.

Marilyn smiled awkwardly. She was confused by Terence.

She smiled and said, "Mr. Zade, stop joking at me."

"No, I..." Before Terence could finish speaking, he was stopped by Sergio.

"Terence, is this time to talk about this matter?" Sergio gave Terence a warning look. After all, Malcolm was very touchy.
