Edmund was alienating Debbie and she felt ridiculous. She asked curiously, "Where are you going?"
The price of the land Debbie bought was very high, and she regretted buying it. Now she had financing difficulty and she had to find an investor!
Debbie thought Bradley was the best investor!
Debbie had asked Bradley several times, but he refused to see her. In the past few days, she has been looking for opportunities to meet him.
Last time Debbie came to see Malcolm for this, but because she hit Marilyn, Malcolm didn't want to help her.
Edmund said indifferently, "Mrs. Remington, it seems unnecessary for us to tell you where we are going. We have things to do. We will leave first."
Then Edmund looked at Marilyn gently.
Marilyn nodded and got in the car.
Edmund returned to the driver's seat. Just as he was about to get in the car, Debbie said with a sad expression, "Mr. Dempsey, can you help me make an appointment with Mr. Greer? I want to talk to him about something."
Edmund looked at Debbie and smiled politely, "Mrs. Remington, Mr. Greer is very busy these days and has no time to meet you."
Then Edmund opened the car door, got in the car, and drove off.
Debbie was angry and asked in confusion, "Jacob, why did Edmund personally come to pick up Marilyn?"
"I don't know," Jacob responded coldly.
Debbie turned around and looked at him angrily.
"Jacob, what are you thinking about? You became a total zombie and don't care about anything!
"Do you still hate me and want to deliberately oppose me? No matter what I ask you, you don't know!" Debbie's tone was sharp. Because she bought the land with all her money, she was distressed.
Debbie thought Darren and Jacob were good-for-nothing and she was disappointed with them.
Darren was naughty and indecent. Although Jacob was mature and steady, he only cared about Denise now. But Debbie didn't like Denise.
During this time, Debbie was mentally and physically exhausted and often lost her temper!
When Jacob heard this, he was furious. "Mom, the question you asked is baffling. Why do you think I must know why Edmund came to pick up Marilyn?"
After Jacob finished speaking, he walked forward.
"How dare you say that!" Debbie cursed and followed Jacob.
Debbie took a deep breath and tried to suppress her anger. Then she said gently, "We came to see Malcolm today to persuade him to invest in us. Don't say a word when I talk to him."
Jacob kept a straight face. "Let's talk about it when we see him."
Debbie caught up with Jacob and said, "His investment is very important to us..."
Jacob suddenly stopped and looked at Debbie with a cold face. He said seriously, "Mom, Malcolm owes us nothing. He's been good to us all these years because of Carolyn. He is not a fool. He doesn't have to be nice to us.
"Malcolm has had a rough time over these years. We can't continue to calculate and use him. We can't use his love for Carolyn to force him to invest in us. He has done enough for us.
"Malcolm paid a lot to find Carolyn! We should be firm in principle be grateful and cherish his kindness. Only then would we get more!"
When Debbie heard this, she looked at Jacob with a cold smile. "Are you trying to teach me?"
Jacob closed his eyes in distress and frowned tightly.
After a while, he opened his eyes and said, "Mom, you've changed. You become vain and selfish."
Hearing this, Debbie smiled bitterly, "You said I was vain and selfish. But have you ever wondered who I'm doing it for? I did all this for you. I just hope my children have a better life..."
"Mom, we are better off. We have grown up and need to walk our own path. You just need to live the life you want." Jacob interrupted Debbie. Looking at her, Jacob suddenly felt that Debbie had become strange.
Jacob thought, 'Mom used to be reasonable, but now she's changed!
I don't know why Mom became like this.
Sometimes, I want to leave my family and go somewhere else with Denise.
I want to elope with Denise, but I don't know if she will agree.'
Jacob had been indulging in his own world all this time and couldn't give up his love for Denise.
Debbie sneered, "Yes, you have grown up. If Carolyn had not been lost, our family would be very happy now. She can accompany me to go shopping, to beauty salons, and travel so that I can live the life I want.
"But what about you and Darren? You didn't do anything for me. You are busy every day. I feel bored staying at home alone, so doing business is my only interest."
When Jacob heard this, he was distressed. "Mom, we've lost Carolyn, but you still have Velma. Didn't you bring Velma home to make up for Carolyn's loss?"
Debbie was furious. "Velma was different!" Debbie thought Velma's sweetness was insincere.
Jacob sneered and forced a smile. "When you brought Velma back, you were very happy. Now you tell me that she is different. It's ridiculous. I regard her as my own sister, while you regard her as your own daughter, but she..." Jacob wanted to say that Velma made things difficult for Denise.
When Jacob thought of this, he was upset.
Jacob pursed his lips tightly and suppressed his anger and sadness. He said, "Let's go see Malcolm first."
Then he walked forward.
Debbie knew that it was important to talk to Malcolm about investment, so she followed Jacob to the Lowe Group.
Because it was rush hour now, Marilyn had been held up in traffic.
Marilyn thought for a long time before asking, "Edmund, why does Mrs. Remington want to see my father?"
Edmund glanced at Marilyn from the rearview mirror and said, "Maybe it's because the Remington family bought a piece of land recently! Mrs. Remington invested in real estate recently and made a lot of money. She wanted to do her own real estate business, so she bought the land in Lakeside District."
"She bought the land in Lakeside District?" Marilyn frowned. "But the land over there is very expensive."
Edmund said, "Yes! However, the Remington family bought the land and spent all their assets. Right now, they probably don't have enough start-up funds, so they are looking for people to invest in them.
"But the land they bought will not bring them more profits. If the land could bring profits, Mr. Greer would have bought it. After all, many places in the Lakeside District belong to him."
Marilyn was a little worried and asked, "Why can't that land bring profits?"
