Chapter 275

Ch. 275 / 281 Apr 07, 2026

Perhaps these things would not happen, as well as today's events.

Marilyn ran out of the parking lot.

Edmund had been waiting for her outside. Seeing her run out crying, he shouted worriedly, "Lynn, are you alright?"

Only then did Marilyn remember that Edmund was still waiting for her here. She wiped her tears and glanced at Edmund, saying, "Edmund, I want to be alone for a while. Thank you for today!"

Marilyn walked out!

Edmund knew that she was in a bad mood, so he did not disturb her. Perhaps it would be better for her to be alone for a while!

He took out his phone and called Bradley, reporting things about Marilyn. He then drove back to his home.

The neon lights and street lights lit up the streets. On the towering buildings, all kinds of advertisements were flashing. The flickering lights hit Marilyn's tear-filled face.

Marilyn was immersed in her grief.

That lonely back looked so heartbreaking!

Marilyn cried, tears constantly blurring her eyes.

In her life, she suffered hardships, got framed by others, was despised at her lowest point, had a child out of wedlock, and was scolded by others. All of these pasts emerged in her mind.

The most difficult time was when she was pregnant with her third child. At that time, her feet were so swollen that she couldn't even wear shoes.

In the face of the blank future, she was actually afraid. With Elvira, Jeannie, and Roland's company, she gradually walked out of the valley of life.

Seven years had passed in the blink of an eye.

Seven years. She had been looking forward to this day all the time. However, when this day truly came, her heart ached more than ever.

The night wind blew her soft hair, her eyes were red and swollen, and her figure was fragile.

She walked aimlessly and her tears never stopped. Tonight, she wanted to cry. When the sun rose tomorrow, it would be her new day.

She had experienced too much, and sometimes she would ask in the mirror what the most difficult hurdle in life was.

Now she understood that the saddest hurdle in life was actually her heart.

As long as she was satisfied and happy. Everything would be okay.

Marilyn let out a deep breath, hoping that after tonight, there would no longer be any traces of hatred left in her heart. She wanted to face the future more confidently.

Marilyn's phone kept ringing, but she was immersed in grief and did not answer the phone.

Malcolm had also been calling Marilyn, he had not seen her for a day today, and he wanted to hear her voice.

However, no one picked up after five or six consecutive calls.

He was driving home and just stopping at the intersection, trying to call Marilyn.

He looked up at the red light and was about to make a call when he saw a familiar figure.

In the distance, the light from the lamp came over. Malcolm saw Marilyn's face full of tears and she walked in a daze on a zebra crossing.

Her eyes were unfocused, sinking into a world of her own. Everything around her was useless in her eyes.

Malcolm was shocked. Why was Marilyn here?

Why was she crying?

Malcolm glanced at it, it was almost green, but Marilyn was walking very slowly!

She had no idea that the surrounding cars had already started moving.

Malcolm was anxious. He ignored the sound of the horn and quickly got out of the car.

He called Julian to come over to deal with the car.

On the other side, Darren, who was drinking with Jacob, received a call from Malcolm with a blank face. Before she could speak, the other party hung up the phone.

He only heard one sentence. "Deal with the car at the red light junction of Jade Road!"

Julian looked at his phone blankly. He felt that he was hearing nothing, but after flipping through the call records, Malcolm really did call.

Malcolm ran towards Marilyn.

His car was parked on the main road, and the car in the back row was a long dragon, and the sound of the horn kept ringing.

Even in such a noisy environment, Marilyn kept walking forward aimlessly.

Malcolm's heart ached so much and he could not breathe!

At this time, on the non-mobile lane, an electric car sped over and was very close to Marilyn.

Marilyn didn't seem to notice at all, and continued to walk aimlessly!

When Malcolm saw this, his heart suddenly tightened. He rushed over like an arrow. He hugged her and pulled her into his embrace.

Marilyn was pulled back by him and finally came back to her senses. She raised her small face which was full of tears and looked at Malcolm blankly.

Malcolm looked at her appearance. Her eyes were red and swollen, her face was pale, and her lips were drained of blood. His heart began to ache.

"Lynn..." He called out to her softly, staring deeply at her, reaching out and gently wiping the tears off her little face.

Marilyn blinked her eyes and saw clearly the person was Malcolm.

Malcolm looked at her deeply.

"Lynn, what's the matter?" He asked softly. His voice was soft and warm as a spring. It swept through Marilyn's heart, making her bitter heart instantly ease up a lot.

"Malcolm, why are you here?" Her voice was hoarse and somewhat surprised. She had actually met Malcolm at her most painful time.

Malcolm continued to look at her without blinking and said in a low voice, "Lynn, it's me. Tell me, what happened to you? Who bullied you? I will avenge you!"

Hearing his words, Marilyn instantly felt much better.

She blinked her blurry eyes slightly. She had cried for too long and felt that her eyelashes were stuck together. It was uncomfortable.

She lowered her head slightly and bit her lips hard. In life, everyone cannot control their own experiences. How could their life be smooth?

The sound of the flute continued. Marilyn glanced behind her and saw Malcolm's car parked at the red light intersection.

The sound of the flute kept ringing around her, making her a little upset.

She looked at Malcolm and said, "Malcolm, are you crazy? Why did you stop the car there? Go back quickly. Do you see the cars in the back?"

Malcolm said, "Lynn, I don't care. Let me ask you, who bullied you?"

Marilyn wanted to look but found that her eyes were very uncomfortable. She lowered her head to rub her eyes, "Malcolm, don't worry about me. Go and drive the car away!"
