The moon hung high in the night sky as Milan, Enzo, and Thiago stood near their convoy of black SUVs, finalizing their plan. The air was thick with tension, each of them focused and ready. The warehouse where Jade and Mia were being held was heavily guarded, but the intelligence gathered by Enzo’s men and Thiago’s FBI contacts gave them a clear advantage. Tonight, they were taking no chances.
Milan adjusted the straps of his tactical vest, his icy-blue eyes colder than ever. His jaw was tight, his mind filled with the image of Jade—helpless, scared, and out of reach. “We go in fast and quiet,” he said, his voice calm but deadly. “We take down anyone who gets in our way. No mercy.”
Enzo loaded a magazine into his rifle, his movements precise. “My men are already in position. They’ll cover the perimeter and handle the guards outside.”
Thiago gave a sharp nod, his face uncharacteristically grim as he adjusted his earpiece. “Once we breach the door, we stick together. No splitting up until we’ve secured Jade and Mia.”
Milan glanced at both of them, his expression unyielding. “Let’s end this.”
The team moved in silence, the only sound the crunch of gravel under their boots as they approached the warehouse. Enzo’s men had already taken down the outer guards, their bodies hidden in the shadows. Milan signaled for his team to halt just outside the main entrance, his sharp eyes scanning the building for any movement.
Enzo whispered into his comms, “Perimeter secured. Guards neutralized. Ready to breach.”
Milan raised his hand, counting down silently: three, two, one. With a nod, Thiago kicked the heavy metal door open, and the team stormed inside.
The warehouse was dimly lit, the faint hum of machinery in the background. Crates and barrels were stacked haphazardly, providing both cover and obstacles. The smell of oil and rust filled the air. As they moved deeper into the building, the first wave of resistance appeared—armed guards who opened fire without hesitation.
“Take cover!” Milan barked, ducking behind a stack of crates. Enzo and Thiago flanked him, returning fire with precision. Enzo’s men stormed in from the sides, their coordinated attack taking the guards by surprise.
Bullets ricocheted off metal surfaces, the loud crack of gunfire echoing through the warehouse. Thiago took out two guards with well-placed shots, his movements quick and fluid. Enzo pressed forward, his rifle steady as he cleared a path toward the back of the building.
Milan moved like a predator, his focus unwavering as he took down anyone in his way. His only thought was Jade. He couldn’t let her down. He wouldn’t.
As the last guard fell, Milan signaled for the team to move toward the far end of the warehouse. There, a heavy steel door loomed, its edges reinforced with bolts. It was locked, but that wasn’t going to stop them.
“Breach it,” Milan ordered, stepping aside as one of Enzo’s men set a small explosive charge. The countdown was brief, the explosion sharp but controlled. The door blew open, and the team rushed inside.
The room was small and dimly lit, a single flickering bulb casting eerie shadows across the concrete walls. In the center of the room, Jade and Mia lay on the cold floor, unconscious and bound. Their hands and feet were tied with thick ropes, and their faces were pale.
Milan’s breath caught in his throat as he rushed to Jade’s side, dropping to his knees. “Jade,” he said softly, his voice cracking. He reached out, carefully brushing her hair away from her face.
Enzo knelt beside Mia, checking her pulse. “She’s alive,” he said, relief evident in his voice. “Weak, but alive.”
Thiago scanned the room, his rifle raised, ensuring there were no threats lurking in the shadows. Once satisfied, he lowered his weapon and crouched beside Enzo. “We need to get them out of here. Now.”
Milan’s hands trembled as he cut the ropes binding Jade’s wrists and ankles. Her skin was cold to the touch, but her chest rose and fell steadily. “Jade,” he whispered again, gently shaking her. “It’s me. Wake up.”
Her eyelids fluttered slightly, and she let out a faint groan. “Milan?” she mumbled, her voice barely audible.
“I’m here,” Milan said, his voice filled with both relief and determination. “You’re safe now.”
Enzo carefully lifted Mia into his arms, his expression softening for the first time in hours. “I’ve got her. Let’s move.”
