~Viola~
I met Damien just where Lucas said I would meet him. He’s standing by the fountain, his looks are expressionless. Even in his causal wears he looks good on it.
I cleared my throat when I got close.
Damien didn’t seem startled, he must’ve seen me coming.
“What are you doing here?” His voice is toneless.
I keep my hands in my pocket and brought out the diamond.
“I want to return this...” He twirled his head to the side and stared at the diamond in my hands.
“You can give it back to Bianca. I don’t want this, and I can’t even wear it. Where would I wear it to by the way...” I ended my rasp with a nervous laugh.
Damien took it from me, he stared briefly at it for a moment and looked over at me. He half smiled and kept them in his pocket.
I exhaled, I’m glad he took them. It feels like a burden has been lifted from my chest, I had practiced how I was gonna return the diamond to him.
Damien walks slower away from the fountain.
I stare at the sky.
“There’s a lot of stars tonight.” I smiled, staring at it. Damien stopped walking and looked up to confirm what I said.
“There’s a place we can see it more clearly, you’re gonna like it there.”
“Really?” I getting excited just with the thought.
We’re standing at the top of a towel, I can see the sky clearly from up here, I was grinning from ear to ear like a silly teenager.
“That’s the Big Dipper.” Damien points with a small smile.
“I can’t see it.” He came closer to me, standing behind me, he took my hands and pointed towards the sky and draw a line, connecting the stars. I held my breath with his closeness, that my body was against his and he was holding my hands.
“There, it consists of seven stars.”
“Then can you find my star?” I looked over my shoulders, brushing his nose over mine slightly.
“What’s your zodiac sign?” He smiled at me.
“Aries.” I mouthed, holding his gaze.
“Look.” He gestures back to the sky.
“You can’t find Aries in summer, you’ll see them in winter, shining so bright.” He stared at me, I hiccup when I couldn’t keep up with those dark gazes of his.
“You would show me then?”
“Yes.” He lowered his head, staring at my face. I moved backward and missed a step, he quickly snuck a hand over my waist and pulled me closer to his body. I’m breathless with Damien holding me close to his body.
“How come you know so much about stars?” I asked, I had to say something though it doesn’t stop Damien from staring at me.
“I had a dream of being an astronomer.” He pulled my cheek and moved away from me.
He standing beside me with his hands in his pocket.
I fanned my face with my hands. Glad, Damien wasn’t looking my way to see my face hot!
“I’ll be forty-two soon, and I didn’t achieve that dream.” He smiled sadly.
“But you became King.” Wasn’t that something? And he had a dream, my dream was to find him, my soulmate.
“I never wanted to be King.” He said with his sharp gaze on me.
“It happened, they needed one after my father ultimately passed away. And the pack was in shackles. That was for a long time time. I found my mate when I was twenty.” He turned to me.
“You’re lucky you found me so quickly.”
I smiled at that, will I say it was thanks to the dickhead Cranon who brought me to him.
He talked about his mate for the first time, I don’t even want to talk about our age difference yet.
The moon goddess can never be wrong, they’ve our fate predestined.
“We should head back home, it's past midnight.” Damien took my hands and was leading out of the tower. Each time I get closer I find out something different about Damien.
Now I could only help but wonder how he became known to his pack members as a beast that had lived for a hundred years?
“Are you cold?” I shook my head though I was rubbing my hands together to keep myself warm. Damien took off his coat and wore them over my shoulders.
“Come let's go home.” We walked side by side, to the mansion.
“How did you know where to find me?”
I can’t tell him Lucas gave him away and that I was gonna find him here.
“I saw you leaving the house from the window. So I followed you, you were disappointed in me earlier today weren’t you?” His looks said it all when he stared at me.
“I was.” He answered simply. I should thank him for his honesty.
“I didn’t take her diamond from her.” I tried to explain.
“It doesn’t matter if you did it or not.” Damien was staring at our shadows as we walked.
“It does, it matters What you think of me.” I stopped walking. “...it’s what you think of me that matters.” I pushed my tears back in.
“I’ve never stolen, and I’m not gonna start now? You can Cranon the kind of girl I was but you did think that I stole it from her!” I sniffed and blinked my eyes.
Damien is staring at me without saying a word. I took off his jacket and gave him and I was about to walk home when he pulled me back into his hands and suddenly he let me go without stopping me this time.
I felt hurt, that he didn’t hold me back when I was hoping he would do. But he simply watches me walk ahead of him.
I turned when I had gone over a distance, Damien was nowhere behind me.
I froze, that I was the only one walking on the lonely road.
“I hate him.” I could feel my tears staining my cheeks.
“I hate you, Damien!” I yelled and my voice echoed, I stomped my feet and walked home angrily with tears in my eyes.
I ran when I heard strange sounds behind me. How could he leave a lady to walk home alone at night?
He’s no gentleman!
I ran as fast as I could, breathing heavily when I got to the front gate.
I was home.
I glanced behind me, there was still no sign of Damien.
I wondered where he went, but I don’t want to worry about that, this was his territory and he knows his way around.
I should be worried about myself and not the jerk!
“Damien Thorne!” I cussed at his name.
“Isn’t this a pissed young lady?” I heard tittering behind me, making me freeze on the spot.
