~Damien~
“Where is he?” I marched out of the house with Lucas hurrying up behind me towards the lawn where the truck was parked.
“I had him locked up.”
“Take me to him immediately.” I snarled and opened the truck.
“Hurry up, Lucy.” I stared at him over my shoulders.
“Stop calling me that.” Lucas grimaces at his name. I leaned on the truck and stared at him.
“Not until you stop wearing tight jeans and a t-shirt that has all your muscles rippled out.” I couldn’t believe I was stuck with him for years.
“I’ll take you to him, Daemon Thorn.” Lucas gritted his teeth with feigned annoyance. He moved over to the side of the truck and opened the door of the truck. I lift my back a bit from the truck.
“What did you just call me?”
“Come here right now! Lucas!” I gesture for him to come with a finger, and the asshole ignored me.
What imprudence!
“Are you getting into the truck or not, I hide him somewhere far. Because I don’t trust what he could do. I couldn’t kill him either, I had to wait for you to make a decision and why did you treat the Pack Doctor like that?” He talked loudly and ignite the car.
“He’s a healer, King Damien!”
“How did I treat him? I didn’t even say a word to him, he got scared on his own.” I get into the truck with a shrug.
Lucas chuckled and turned his head sideways.
“If you would be nicer..”
“I’m nice.” I protest with a frown.
“Only to her, Monica.”
“Lucy, you mean?”
“Oh no! I’m just gonna drive.”
I chuckled and fasten the seatbelt, my thought trailed off to her, she must have been disappointed or perhaps hate me.
I’m a Lycan, she’s a Wolf, I have enemies around me and she’s innocent and I’m not.
My warriors had almost killed her because they hated her being around me, what worse would happen if I decided to give her my mark and claimed her?
If she could wait, and I’ll have to figure it out but now all I wanted is to keep her safe.
“He’s down the cave, we just have to walk a few miles.”
I got out of the car and Lucas came down from the other end, we started walking down the cave. The cave is where we kept most prisoners who are more dangerous and have them isolated from the territory of Lycans.
When we got to the cave, we walked straight in, there was a prisoner inside.
“There he is.” Lucas stood in front of the prison bars.
Roland was chained to the wall his hands held up on both sides, he was stripped of his clothes leaving just his boxers. He lift his head when he heard our footsteps.
“King Damien!” He cried, falling to his knees with his face on the ground.
“Thank goodness, you’re alive.”
I turned to Lucas.
“Open.”
One of the guards stepped forward and unlocked the prison door, and I stepped in.
“Kill me, King Damien. I deserve death for hurting you!” Roland whimpered.
“Why did you do it?” I squat his body was covered in dirt and blood and sweat.
“Lift your head and look at me Roland, and tell me why you wanted to kill her?”
Roland lifts his head slowly.
“Because you changed, you no longer cared about what was happening or what happened to the harem or if Bianca was in the pack or not, you became so distant but you were always around her. It wasn’t a good sign for a Lycan King to be swayed by her she-wolf. I wanted to get rid of her because...”
“It would bring you back to King Damien we knew and yet you protected her.” He spoke softly.
“Did I change?”
I turned to Lucas and I found him talking to the guards.
Roland was one of my bravest and strongest warriors, and he had been close to me since I became king.
“Yes, King Damien.” I chuckled bitterly at his reply.
I pulled him by the hair roughly and he stared at me in the eye.
“Did you care to know why I was that way towards her? I didn’t change Ro, everything that’s going on in this territory I know! Bianca, there’s no need for me to worry if she’s in the pack or not. This isn’t the first time she goes on vacation.” I snarled and my anger was surging through my veins.
“You hate her, that’s the only reason you decided to kill her. You were against my decision to side with Cranon. You were against the wolf being with us, that’s the reason you did that.”
I let go of his hair and made sure he was staring at me and then I muttered to his hearing.
“She is my mate,”
“That’s not possible,” He shook his head and dropped his head down to the ground again.
“That was what I thought, Roland. It wasn’t possible to have another woman in my life and I had to settle off to make Bianca Queen because we needed one but then I found her and Roland, you wanted to kill her? Why?”
I was pained, there was no amount of words I could say right now that would compel how I felt.
“Were you happy when I did nothing but hunt all night, and had a sleepless night and all I could think of was the pain of Jolene's death? You know what I went through, what we all went through to get to this place!” I shouted, my voice echoed all over the cave and it made everyone froze.
“That’s King Damien you want? You want me to go through the same pain!”
“I’m sorry, King Damien. I did not know, I was blinded by my hatred. I was foolish my King. I deserve death, kill me, King Damien, and do not look back at my foolishness.”
I took in a deep breath and moved a few miles away from Roland.
“I would not kill you, Roland.” I exhaled deeply with my eyes shut.
“But King Damien, I stabbed you with a dagger, I attempted to kill your mate, I deserve nothing more than death.” He sobbed quietly.
“I do not deserve such mercy from you, King Damien. I do not deserve it.” Roland began crying, I could see the tears rolling down his eyes.
“You’ll remain here to reflect on your mistake and in due time, Roland. If there would be a time. I’ll send for you.” I pushed the door and walked out of the prison he was in.
Lucas hastened up on his pace to meet me.
“...you spare him?” He looked surprised, and glance at him with a smirk.
“Damien would never do that, you almost killed me that day I made mention of a mate, and now you actually said the word and let Roland live, why?” He narrowed his eyes at me, searching my face for answers.
“I wanted him to see Viola was different, if he dies he won’t see it and he might keep on hating her. That’s why I spare him, I’m giving him a chance to see her in a different way other than she is just a she-wolf.”
I smiled and head out of the cave, Lucas was behind me, I could hear his laugh and his hands clapped in merriment.
“King Damien, wait!”
“Come on, Lucy. It’s late.”
“You were never bothered by going home late, someone is in love.”
“Shut up!” I growled, getting close to the truck.
I needed to go home before midnight and see her but when I got home, I saw something I wasn’t expecting to see.
