“…She’s fine.” I replied to Damien's mom and smiled. I couldn’t tell her that Bianca was the reason I ended up in the hospital, and in that state where she found me.

The quietness during the drive back home was overpowering.

I was lost in contemplation, replaying the recent events, while Damien focused on driving.

A grin formed on my face as Neveah, my future mother-in-law, came to mind. I was going to get married to Damien.

I have set my mind on it, and Damien just has to believe it, that I would never let him go, not my mate.

The affection and generosity she showed filled me with joy and I appreciated having her here with me.

I whispered to her that I was going to marry her son, and she laughed.

“I hope you win his heart.” She said.

Upon returning to Damien's huge mansion, it didn’t look this huge before. Maybe I have come to see it this way because of what happened to me, and got me in the infirmary.

I couldn’t ignore the disapproving glances I received from the guards.

After what happened to Roland, they most likely despise me.

"Viola, we are home, come on." Damien's voice snapped me out of my thoughts.

Damien assisted me as I got out of the car, his touch lightly on my elbow.

I slipped by mistake when I failed to step correctly.

"I got you, Viola." His strong hand wrapped around me.

"Have you sustained any injuries?"

I chuckled softly. I can’t believe he was asking that because I missed a step.

“Are you experiencing any discomfort or pain in your body?” He asked while crouching in front of me, inspecting my legs for any signs of injury.

I shook my head, biting the side of my cheek and restrained my cheek from turning as red as a tomato.

"Come with me." He murmured softly while picking me up in a bridal manner and heading towards his room.

Neveah gave me a thumbs up. “You got this, Viola.” She mouthed.

She had insisted on coming back with us from the hospital.

Her presence here actually made me feel a lot better.

As we arrived in his room, he carefully placed me on the bed as he maintained eye contact.

"Rest a little Viola, you must be tired," Damien stroked my hair as he watched me. I smiled shyly and nodded.

"I really want to kiss you right now.” He muttered and my cheeks flushed.

Damien's intense gaze locked with mine, his eyes burning with a passion that quickened my heartbeat, and burned down to my thigh.

He moved closer to me, his gentle hands extending to hold my face with a care that warmed my heart.

My breath got stuck in my throat when he leaned in towards me, his lips just a few inches away.

I wanted him to take my lips, and savored them with his mouth, my eyes closed and I arched my back, and pouted my lips.

He placed a finger, and smiled.

“Get some rest, bunny.” He placed a kiss on my forehead and stood up from the bed.

He closed the curtains in the room, and turned off the light.

He came back to the bed, and I swallowed hard. “Viola,” He spoke softly. “Staying with me is gonna be difficult.”

I couldn’t concentrate with those deep rough voices of his, and his warm breath causing shivers to run down my spine.

I was lost in his eyes, the bond we shared made it difficult for me, I could get lost in his slight touch.

"I can't believe I'm saying this but I adore you Viola," Damien said as his eyes remained fixed on mine. “I don’t want you to leave me, I am a little scared and I hope it all gonna work out.”

I could see the sincerity in them and it made my heart flutter.

"I won’t leave you, Damien.” I whispered softly, different emotions were running through my head.

His hand went to my cheek and he kissed me slowly.

Our mouths synchronized perfectly as our tongues explored each other's lips with a passionate intensity that took my breath away.

He pulled me closer by sliding his hands down my back, intensifying the kiss.

I encircled my arms around his neck, my fingers getting caught in his hair while we passionately kissed each other.

Time seemed to freeze as we kissed, with only our labored breaths and the pounding of our hearts breaking the silence.

He pulled his lips away from mine, and pressed our forehead together. I gasped for breath, and he was staring at my lips.

"...." I wanted to say something but nothing came out of my mouth except gasps.

At that moment, we were interrupted by a gentle knock on the door.

"Come in," Damien growled slowly, and pulled away from him.

Neveah entered, holding a tray of food. She smiled at me.

"I brought some food for you both, considering that you both might be feeling hungry. You didn’t eat anything at the hospital.”

Damien’s gaze softened and he smiled, and took the tray of her hand, and dropped them on the table. “You don’t have to do that.”

“I wanted to Damien. It has been a while, and I wanted to cook for you again before I leave.” Her hand went to my face, and she touched it tenderly.

"I will eat them.” Damien said quietly, and clasped his hand over hers. There were emotions that he hid in those eyes. Something they couldn’t speak out.

Neveah sighed and moved away from Damien. She sat on the bed. “You should eat before you get some rest Viola.”

“Yes, Mother.” I mumbled. She took my hands and squeezed them, and gave me a warm smile.

“And about Bianca, you don’t have to worry about her. I will speak to her before I leave. She will come to accept you as Damien’s mate. There’s nothing stronger than the bond between mates.”

“…she will get to understand. If she did anything wrong, don’t hate her. We, the Lycan all had our sad stories. There’s a reason that bonds us together as one…” She stared at Damien and then sighed.

She pulled me close and placed a soft kiss on my head. She stood up from the bed, and walked out of the room.

Damien’s back was against me, and he was putting some steaks on a plate.

“Remember when I said you’re no longer a slave and won’t be treated as such again…” Damien said, and I stared at his broad back.

I hummed.

He hesitated for a while as he stared at me.

"I'm giving you the position as head of the management of my guards and servants including the warriors. You will be in charge of their needs and you’ll work with me and Lucas.”

My eyes widened in shock.

This must be a joke right?

"You are giving me a position in the pack?" I asked, looking at his eyes.

I couldn't believe he meant it.

His park will go berserk if they find out.

"I mean it Viola, I trust you," He spun around slowly and stared at me. “…and I want to get closer to you.”

There was a faint knock on the door, and we thought it was Neveah.

“Come in, Mother.” Damien said, and took his gaze back to the food.

Bianca came into the room, her head was tilted downward down, and her hands folded in front of her.

“I…I…” She sputtered.

“I came to apologize, Damien.”
