A broad smirk was expressed on Fred's face. Oh, he wants to know the owner, that's fine. “I know who owns this jacket” he casually responded, excitement shown all over him.
“Really?” Camella's eyes brightened in excitement “Help me locate him, I need to appreciate him for his kindness” she requested. Oh finally, she's going to get to appreciate that kind hearted fellow. She didn't know what would have happened to her that day if he hadn't shown up.
“It's easy to locate him. Why don't we start by calling the police station and asking him to be released first” Fred stuttered. Now, this is the miracle he hopes for. Andre will be home that night.
Camella's brow furrowed.
“What do you mean? Do I need to bribe you with Andre Torello's release before you get me to the man?” She asked, staring at him uncomfortably. What the heck is going on? Must she grant him his request before he does what she wants?
“Not so Miss Camella. You don't have to bribe me at all. You want to meet the owner of this jacket, but I can't take you to his house, it's a waste of time. He isn't home and it's because of you” Fred squeaked.
When he pleaded with her about Andre, she refused. Now she wants to meet the owner of the jacket. How can he do that, take her to the police station to meet Andre or wait until the weekend is over like she requested.
Camella was thinking fast. She hopes it is not what she's thinking? She glanced at Fred Maxwell and he chuckled, giving her a shrug.
“Take a look at the name on the jacket” Fred suggested and turned the collar inside out for Camella to see. She saw it and for a few seconds she was stiffened. She stretched her hand and took the jacket and had a proper look at it. She fixed her gaze on the woven name on it.
Her body went suddenly cold like a weathered flower. Andre Torello? He was the man that day? The one that had stayed awake in her heart after that day? She hadn't stopped thinking about him and yet, she saw him and couldn't recognise him?
She brought out her phone and dialled a certain number “kindly let him go” she requested and hung up. She raised her head and glanced at Fred without a word.
Andre had waited for his release when eventually, a police officer came and told him he could leave. He nodded and stepped out. His car was in the company and he decided to return home. The next day was a Saturday, he would go to the company and move his car away from there, never to return.
He decided to call Fred. At this time, Fred was behind the steering when he saw Andre’s call. Feeling satisfied, he decided to place it on a speaker. Camella should hear for herself if he was not telling the truth.
“Hi Andre,” Fred chimed. For him to have called him, it implied that he'd been released indeed. “Thanks for keeping your promise. I've been released” Andre informed him.
“It's not me, I couldn't keep my promise to you but your kindness did. Did you assist someone sometime in December that was stuck in the snow…” Fred asked just so Camella could hear him.
“Yeah, I did,” Andre answered simply. That was the day he was unconscious that Felix saved him. Fred soon said that they would talk all about it when next they meet. Andre was happy as he took a taxi home.
Alice Torello was surprised to see her soon returned late. She was already getting worried and restless. He doesn't stay out late this long and when such happened in the past, he would call her not to be worried about him.
But he was late that day and he wasn't with his car. She hugged him and saw he wasn't looking good. He'd not been looking good for a while now, after the betrayal of Jasmine, but he was unusually moody that evening.
Is everything alright, Andre” Alice asked, going over to him but Andre waved her words off “I just want to be a lone mom. I'll talk to you tomorrow. Goodnight mom” he said, going to his bedroom. He was tired of talking already. He feels worn out easily by talking too much.
“Don't you dare say goodnight to me when you haven't had your dinner yet” Alice rebuffed. What nonsense, he should at least have something to eat. Then he could decide to retire to his room.
“Honestly mom, I feel filled. I don't want anything tonight” he said as he got into his room and shut the door. He just pulled his shirt off, got into the bathroom and had a thorough scrubbing under the shower before stepping out.
One of the things about Andre, he takes good care of his body. He changed into his robe and went to lay on his bed. He had a lot to do the next morning and he needed a good rest.
When Camella arrived home, she didn't even wave a goodnight to Fred as she got into the villa. She didn't go into her room but went to look for her nanny. She threw herself into her arms and started sobbing.
“Nanny, I had him arrested and locked up. I didn't realise he was the one I had been looking for. How ungrateful I am. Oh my gosh! How can I ever be able to appreciate him after getting into his bad book…” Camella tattered.
“Shhh…” her nanny cautioned, placing her index finger on her lips. Her words were confusing. She doesn't even know who she was talking about. “Calm down girl, your father and fiance are having a drink together.
You should carefully explain to me what you meant. I couldn't make out anything from what you're saying. So tell me exactly what makes you think you're an ungrateful person?” She persuaded, bringing her to sit on the kitchen table.
Camella sniffled and said “the guy I've always referred to as the mysterious man, was actually the same Andre Torello I told you that I got even with. And that's not all, today I had him arrested and refused bail…” she explained.
Nanny squinted, this appeared complicated. “How did you know he is the same person?” She asked. She saw how broken her daughter has become and she cannot help it.
“I got to know you through Fred Maxwell…” she explained and when she was through, the nanny pulled her to herself and hugged her. She cannot stand it, to see her daughter sad and so remorseful.
“I'm glad you already had him released. Tomorrow, find out where he lives and go to see him. You are not going to see him as his boss or CEO Wood, but as Miss Camella. Apologise to him and appreciate him as well” nanny coaxed her.
Camella nodded, feeling relieved that she'd shared her burden with someone she trusted. She went to her bedroom and took a warm bath but not once did her thoughts drift away from Andre.
The next morning, Andre was almost done with his gym when Fred called him “Where are you?” He was seated in the car with Camella and was going to head to his place.
“City gym” and hung up.
